Thanks so much Rebel and glad you enjoyed it. Yes thanks to BAAD and all the BAD ass artists that come through and the after the performance performances that happen. Most of the footage is from after all is said and done. Blessings indeed to them all ...and to you ...shine on.
Woo-hoo thanks Franco. Yes! Such great talents indeed. Great to be able to catch them in all their glory and grace and glad you liked it well. More...yes there is more to come. cheers.
This is absolutely the coolest! I saw this on an episode of ANTM once and I knew there was more to it, but I could have never guessed it was still so alive! Keep on Voguing gals!
Thanks Tboi68... the title of the main track you hear is, "Underground" by Head Rush released in 1994 on Emotive records. I did this dj mix and this was just a section of it. I have/had on a compilation album entitled 'Future Sound of NY." all the best.
@cmr123100 it is a mix of preshow and a post show...the main vogue-ing parts were just aftershow hanging out and people vogue-ing. I am glad you liked the video. I am not a part of the Ninjas but had the honor to be witness some of their greatness, although this was all in fun they still turned it out and mainly just kinda a house party. The performance that evening was about Vogue-ing and honoring Willie Ninja.
No that is not Luis Xtravaganza. And yes he and José are icons ...Legendaaaary! Did you go to the House of Xtravaganza 30yr event at Club XL in NYC last summer...it was amazing...and full of love and joy and Vogue-ing to the T!
Nah i meant i learned about vogueing as a dance style on antm. Untill then i did not know about the whole nyc ballroom scene, just thought the vogue thing was something Madonna did. So, i was glad to have learned that important lesson :) also, i think ti's fan-fvcking-tastic. So thx from Holland!
Get it get it! As the best way with any form of dance is watch and learn...take class if you can...and better yet watch the greats on youtube and test it in the clubs! As far as you friend. That's not true, there are many 'bio-females' in the world of vogue-ing. Much light and keep the spirit and come for them!
Now this......is voguing!!! Perhaps you talented men should go teach Madonna, the thief of voguing, how her dancers should really be doing it! I can't believe she doesn't at least ask you guys to perform with her? WTF? ANyway....love this video you are all talented gents, and the bald gentleman and Victor can get this big black queen anytime! BLessings!!!
Elimar Laureno...is the one at 1:50. He is a dancer/voguer but do not think he is in the House of Ninja. I have not heard from him in awhile so not sure if he's in a house or not at the moment.
You are quite welcome...Thanks for the comment - go it. I'd highly suggest if you have not already seen 'Paris is Burning' predates 'Madonna' which you may already know...as she just re-packaged what had already been going on for years in NYC. And then also there is a follow up documentary for Paris Is Burning called "How Do I Look" both from different directors but great films to show the history of Vogue and NYC scene. Cheers from NYC.
Vogue is the most beautiful dance I have ever seen. Javier - the master. I toured Europe back in 86 with Willi Ninja and Fidel. God bless them all. Vogue lives though mortals die. The dance is forever and thanks to dancers like these - it SHINES as a sparkling and unique form of expression. I'm getting all teary eyed! Will lives through Javier and the dancers. Billy Beyond (the white bitch who brought it everytime)
@chuydeconsuelo No that is not Luis Xtravaganza. Actually he didn't want to be on film and was just acting silly to get the camera out of his way, i.e., the person who was in that shot
Yes it is a mixed house. That night there were only 'three' members from the house. Less you forget Willi was black. It is a multi-racial house. And in the end, it's about the dance whether you are black, white, brown, red or yellow. If you can turn it...bring it.
ooohh more comments I missed: the name of the track is Head Rush - "Underground (King-Size Mix) can be found on the compilation album: The Future Sound of NY (1994)
Sorry so late to respond to this. In NYC...there are a number of classes here and there. Often the House of Xtravaganza or House of Ninja (memebers) will teach classes...and many other Houses too not to exclude! But I will say the best way is to find clubs where you will find Voguers/Whaackers and the best is watch and learn from the best. Watch videos online of the some of the best...have fun ...pump da beatz hunty!
Is that Luis Xtravaganza bartending?! He is more than worthy of a shout-out!!! OG Vogue status! He & Jose Xtravaganza are so iconic for me growing up watching them w/Madonna!!!!
Yes, indeed brought it everytime. I've seen some of your vids. And the Benny and Javi definitely live and give breath to the Ninja...and many others Archie and the countless other that have graced the Ninja name. Late as I am to respond. Thank you so much for taking the time to write on the video and the vogue Life. Indeed unique and growing and expanding as true ART forms do.
Hello boys and girld,. any chance we could have some of you come over to Cape town in the South Africa (Africa's gay Capital) and come inspire some of the queens here to fuse Vogueing with some African visions?! It would be a show of note. Try make it December when it's opposite to the Northern Hemisphere and steamy hot then

The one guy at the end was serving Face.
Elimar Laureno...is the one at 1:50. He is a dancer/voguer but do not think he is in the House of Ninja. I have not heard from him in awhile so not sure if he's in a house or not at the moment.

You are quite welcome...Thanks for the comment - go it. If she had not "repackaged what had been going around...in NYC, the rest of the world would not be privy to the art of Vogueing.
