I'm looking for something to record race car races. Do you have anything you can suggest? I would want to set one up to track and record the front of the race, and another to track a specific car. I have seen one that is specifically designed for sports involving balls, but not for this.

Thank you for introducing this gimbal? I notice that others have asked about mics. It seems that being able to handle a bigger payload would allow you to move the phone out some to make room to use the lightning port. Have you tried to do that already? I'm curious because I have the IPhone 13 Pro, and being able to hook up external mics using a gimbal is a huge bonus.

So I bought my first gimbal 2 weeks ago which was the Aochuan Smart X Pro. Great beginner gimbal but now this Hohem iSteady M6 came out so I went ahead and bought this yesterday. When I get it and if I like it then I will return the Aochuan. I'm almost certain that I will like it but my worry is the placement of the mic as you mentioned. With my Aochuan I do not have anything blocking the mic port. I am sure the Hohem will be just fine because I picked up an amazing wireless microphone that seems to solve the issue for mics being used on gimbals. I will test it out this weekend when I get my Hohem. But I paid about $35 for a wireless microphone on Amazon that plugs directly into the USB-C or Lightning port and has a flat bottom to push up against the side of the gimbal. Just got my Hohem ISteady M6 and was really excited to use it. Unfortunately, the locking mechanism doesn't stay unlocked, causing an error message to appear. Apparently, this issue is a common problem with other users as well. Will be returning it.
I’m sorry to hear that. I still use mine regularly and haven’t had that issue.

Unfortunately, I don’t think so. But I’ll try out an alternative method that I have in mind…
Interesting new gimbal, especially the AL tracking. But I recently got the DJI OM 6, and one of the big features for me was the small size of it, this Hohem looks much bigger. Plus I can use the DJI Mic with the OM 6, can I use that Mic with the Hohem gimbal. Good review, and thanks for sharing.
I haven’t used a DJI gimbal yet, but did just get the OM 5. Excited to try it out!
I’m between this gimbal and the OM6 as well. Are you using the mic receiver port adapter so it’s plugged right into your phone or mounting the receiver somewhere on the gimbal ?

Ai tracking now responding to gestures for me. Can’t find any useful advice online to fix it. Any ideas? (Module flashes twice, red light comes on but all besties ignored. Tried front and back orientation, Hohem app and various others, rebooted gimbal, even my iPhone, reset the app and the module itself still nothing.

I really like Hohem gimbals, but I doesn't use my phone for video. Wonder if it would be possible to fit an action camera on this one with some Macgyver fix?
That’s a good question. I’ve tested the Zhiyun Smooth 5S, which is very similar and that can hold a GoPro. I’ll double check with this one…

I notice that you do not have a microphone attached, such as the Rode or DJI. It looks at first glance that they will not work, no room, and we would have to record sound stand alone and synch in post production. Or just use the phones microphone. Any thoughts?
This is a great question. There are 1/4 inch holes on the sides of the gimbal so you can add a cold shoe adapter and attach a mic that way. The DJI Mic is a little tricky because the receiver sits flush to the phone and on this gimbal, there isn’t space for it. But you might be able to use a long cable to attach it. I’ll do a follow up video on this subject.

Good question. It’s not possible, unfortunately because of the placement of the lightning/USB C port on the phone. It has to be flush with the gimbal, which doesn’t leave room for the DJI Mic receiver.

Not sure of the weight of that combo, but if it's under 400 grams, yes.
is there a way to buy the tracking attachment separate? I'm not seeing it in their store, nor on amazon.
Bought without module, in error. Returned to Amazon and upgraded to ‘kit’ with module included. Great. Except module doesn’t work. No response to gestures; very poor info on Hohem site. Not sure if this is bad quality control and ‘a bad one’ slipped through or if this is the most half-baked novelty feature I’ve ever fallen for
@@PoetryFilms I’d contact Hohem then. I’ve had two personal experiences with them (one for their software that needed some tweaking, and another for a clicking sound from the gimbal). They may take a day to respond, but have ALWAYS responded and been very helpful to getting resolutions. It has surprised me actually how professional they were.
@@TheCrosx731 Thanks for your response. In the end I returned the full unit and the replacement has worked perfectly from the start. The Ai is very good but the most impressive thing is the balance and stability of the gimbal itself. Very impressed with it. Thanks again
I don't like the way how I loading my phone. I prefer the magnetic like dji. It takes too much time to load and unload the my phone.
Fair point. I also prefer magnetic attachments when they’re available.
Hi Gemini!! Two questions on this Gimbal. I currently have the Hohem iSteady X2, and was thinking of upgrading. One can this be coupled in anyway way with a wireless mic? It seems all these newer gimbals block the charging port of the phone. 2nd question is if you don’t get the AI/light do you think this is a better option than the DJI OM6?

Thx for the review. “Unfortunately, the stability tests of gimbal are not correctly done. It is meaningless to test stability by shooting selfie angle, even a very bad gimbal can look very stable at selfie angle. You should 1) make the camera facing forward, walk ordinary in a straight line direction on a floor with a grid pattern. Thus any bounce and shake of vertical and horizontal lines on the ground can be easily noticed. 2) Then take side shots of the left and right sides of a narrow alley with brick walls to see the undulation of the horizontal lines on the brick walls. Only then can you correctly see the effectiveness of stabilization.
Selfie mode is a function on the camera, and my channel emphasizes camera gear for vlogging, so I would not say that the selfie angle test is meaningless. However, I appreciate your feedback on how to better test the gimbal as it makes me realize that I put too much of a focus on testing for vlogging, so thank you for that.

No one needs an iPhone gimbal. Save your money.
I do videos about items that I think are interesting. You need a gimbal if you want to do motionlapses or AI tracking.
Keeping the horizon line level is an important feature of a gimbal
Nobody needs AI features. Ever. Do you like freedom ? Don’t get into AI. Research. Discern.
The AI is an optional feature. It even costs more to add it on.
The AI follow is an awesome feature. Especially if you’re filming solo
