Ahhhhh this performance. Omg watching it live was truly magical. Oh my gosh shes so good. Both of them were sailing like a boat on the water with this song. I love how balanced Cynthia is in her technique but never forgetting the emotion. The way she translates the emotion in every note she sings. Every note has intention. I often think about who would contend for a spot in a modern vocal trinity (just for fun, not a replacement) and she's on my personal list. I'm sure there are better terms for it but I feel like she's an expert at the control of the "genre" (poppy, gospel, jazzy, show tune, crooner, etc.) of her voice and gave us so much in this performance. Similar to how Mariah is an expert at controlling the tone and texture of her voice, I feel like Cynthia just KNOWS the time and place for every vocal choice she makes. Not everyone can cover Prince, play Elphaba, AND sing jazz as if it were her favorite.

Cynthia is the Ella Fitzgerald of our time. She has a voice clear and pure that lingers in the air hitting each note with ease and her soprano reach is opera level. She should do an album with Herbie Hancock. Instant Grammy. I heard Frank Sinatra live. He really had a pure voice. Strong, clear and satisfying to the ear. Loved his voice and Sammy Davis who also had a great voice. A singer can sing a menu. 🙏🏽 I wish I had a voice coach. 😇
