    Essentially the important skills are Artillery 5 and lock on. That's it. All you need is lock on. Aim for the parts that drops the important material.
    That's all it is really!

      Why the radobaan helm? Wouldn't Azure rathalos charge a little faster with focus?

      difference with Bone Gunlance is 300 damage per shot

    this raises question
    why does everyone uses bone or deviljho gunlance in every group hunt?
    it upsets me every time i went to a group hunt

      gl shelling mechanic is interesting. Regardless of gunlance, the shelling dmg is dependent only on the grade level and the type of shell.
      i.e gunlance A (long shelling,ice) and gunlance B (long shelling,water) and gunlance C(long shelling, fire) at g10.1 fires for the same dmg. Shelling dmg is fixed and not affected by hitzone value or weakness to element.
      Wide shelling does the most dmg (over long and normal shell) in term of normal shelling
      Long shelling does the most dmg in terms of charged shelling.
      Normal shelling does the most dmg in terms of burst fire.
      Bone and Deviljho uses long shelling and players would just use them, tap and hold to charge and fire off. As long as you hit the monster, regardless of where you hit, the dmg is the same.
      Bone is really easy to make while Deviljho comes with artillery.
      Artillery increases the dmg of shelling attack.

      The best thing about gunlance shelling is also why other players throw so much hate around gl users. Not all gl users want to throw in a lock on or purposely aim at parts to break. Most of the gl players fire at random parts of the monster (since the dmg if the same anyway) and by doing that, the parts dont break.

      rather worrying about maximum damage output, they just looking for constant damage
      bone gunlance are understandable because of the raw damage but why deviljho gl, aren't they with damage penalty?

    Long type gunlance is soooo boringggg, use normal shellingg

      Tbh agree. And it pains me to see gl players blasting random parts of the body
