- How would a socialist healthcare system work?
PSL Central Committee members Brian Becker and Eugene Puryear explain:
Our new book, Socialist Reconstruction, discusses what life under a socialist government could look like. The book takes a look at all the different problems currently facing society such as climate change, debt and public safety, and offers a vision of how socialism could solve these problems.
You can get a copy of Socialist Reconstruction on our website.
PSL, I love you, but you didn't mention safe staffing ratios. Healthcare Workers demand safe staffing ratios. Capitalists force unsafe staffing ratios on workers and patients for profits 📈. We all have to suffer and many have to die for their profits. A workers' democracy over healthcare means dramatically better staffing ratios. That means happier patients, happier workers, healthier outcomes for both patients and workers. Please include this key socialist demand in future stump speeches for socialized healthcare. It will help the socialist movement merge with the workers' movement
Yes! This is so important. Under socialism staffing ratios will be determined by the need and not what is profitable - millions of nurses were laid off in April 2020. Not because they weren't needed, but because the hospitals weren't raking in profits from elective procedures.
Heck yeah!! I especially appreciate the points on maternal mortality living in Indiana, which has the 3rd highest rate of maternal death in the US.
Its ungreatful figth you have in US guys, i wish you guys strength and wisdom good to know theres good people there
Healthcare does not belong on the market for profit. Under socialism there would be no markets since products would be produced for actual needs for consumption and not artificial wants.
Amen! Well said daddy comrade.
Eugene and Brian.....love these guys.
all good ideas...and yet, the PSL's numbers are very low. they seem to be such an insular group.
