I upgraded from the Series 4 this year also. Definitely a worthy upgrade. Honestly, if it wasn't for the Ultra I would have waited another year. The progression of the watch has been slow, but the S4 is quite old now. The leap from S3 to the SOC in S4 was AMAZING. We got a lot of bang for buck out of the S4. I salute you Series 4! :) RIP. (btw, I have 215mm wrist, so I have been begging for a non-girly watch for years)
❤️’d my series 4 but not happy that only a year later they released always on display with the S5. Been wanting to upgrade ever since but no real reason to, until now.
@@ReyG_HKSH I hear you loud and clear! If it's any consolation, I tried the Series 6 to see if Always On was any good in its second iteration, and it was a battery guzzler!! I ended up returning it because it was really the only difference, so having an S6 with always-on turned off would be dumb. I've heard it's improved a bit since then, but frankly, I think we've both done the right thing by getting the Ultra with its much bigger battery, for use with always-on.
I think the Ultra looks amazing. Not sure why some don’t like it. It’s probably because the pictures don’t do it justice compared to in person and people are basing their opinion off of a website picture.
Exactly this. The last minute “render” leaks did the Ultra zero justice and photos and videos aren’t much better. When my wife saw it in person she instantly liked it. Great watch!
Just picked up my Ultra yesterday. You are correct, pictures and videos do it zero justice. I got mine with the green alpine loop strap. I went from a 41mm series 3 to the Ultra. I’ll be looking to replace the band. I’m glad to know older strips will work. Thank
When I picked mine up, another customer bought a few more bands and I noticed that at least one of those was a legacy band. As long as they’re from the larger sized watch, the older bands work just as well as the ones released with the Ultra.
The link and legacy sport band are far and away the best looking. Much classier than the faux-rugged-looking Ultra bands. Thanks for showing them to us on the Ultra.

I initially didnt like this design, thought it looked too chunky, but I realized after watching videos and seeing a few in real life that I just didn't really like the bands it came with. I saw a few videos of people trying it with other bands and I'm sold now! going to the Apple store in a day or two to try one on !! also thank you for showing the legacy straps, that's what sold me on it!
The Ultra is a big watch and the bands released with it enhances that appearance, especially the ocean bands. When I read the rumors and saw the renders I didn’t think I’d want one. When Apple revealed it, I was surprised I actually liked it. When I went to pick it up, I tried one on and couldn’t wait to get mine home to try my old bands on it. If it’s in stock, I think you may end up bringing one home 😉
I'm fine with options we have now but I'm hoping we eventually get more Alpine loop color options. Also really happy with the backwards compatibility on bands. I have enough older Apple ones and Nomad bands it would have been disappointing buy several new.
I got mine yesterday and uffff wow I love it. It’s not heavy at all. Battery is amazing and so is the screen and feels very good quality and durable. Love it love it ❤

Personally, I waited for a good holiday offer and I'm in love with my watch all over again. So much faster and nicer to use with the larger screen.

Got mine arriving tomorrow so I can answer this soon. As the watch has new specific bands I wondered if the lugs have been angled more to make the strap wrap better given the larger size? This would mean the old bands would fit but they would stick out more.
I used to have the Apple 🍎 Watch ⌚️ series 7 for almost 2 years. I decided to upgrade to the Ultra with the Alpine Alpha loop watch band. I got the green one. I heard that they are more durable than the Velcro ones. The features are way better and the battery 🔋 life lasts almost 36 hours. There trying to have a new update. The battery to last 60 hours. Just got it and still trying to figure out the different settings and features for running 🏃♂️ I’m kinda digging the Ultra watch.
Great choice! I have at least one of each band type made for the Ultra and the Alpine loop is my favorite. The Trail loop is comfortable but does feel a bit flimsy. Thanks for watching! 🙏
For the Alpine loop I have the medium. I’ve been waiting for the trail loop to be in stock but I’ve noticed those won’t be available until late November.
So the Golden Brown Leather Link looks great but that was last year and this year they have Umber that's much darker. Do you think Umber works or is Golden Brown better?
That’s the thing with Apple Watch bands they have a season then it’s over. If you see a color you like, pick it up as there is a chance you might not see it again. Both colors look good, my personal preference is the golden brown, but the umber looks good too 👍

Great video but please consider closing up the aperture on the close up shots (and in general). We want to see what the watch looks like with the bands but we end up staring at a watch that's 95% blurry bokeh waiting for your camera's AF algorithm to catch up with you twisting your wrist around
Every year, I’ve worried about a new version of Apple Watch making my link bracelet obsolete. If Apple was going to do it they would have with the Ultra so I think we’re safe.
Keep an eye out on the Apple Store app. They had same day pickup for the one I wanted on release day so I cancelled my online order after I had it in my hands.
Anybody doing any AW unboxing or review videos here on RUclips needs to highlight both his/her wrist size AND each band size!!! So obvious but many don’t do that.
@@Murad-611 You’re like right at the end of the medium, I might go large with the alpine loop for you since it might be difficult to get your hand through the loop once it’s mounted on the watch.
New band ... I think some company (if not Apple) will offer an adapter so the old bands can still be used with the new band connection... that could be EVERY band company.
Definitely my fave! When the Apple Watches were first released and I saw the link bracelet in the promo video I knew immediately that I was copping it.
8:00 I have the same line up. Series 0 Stainless Steel Black, (The battery in this did bulge out in 2020, Apple was cool enough to send a replacement for $79 ...I still love this look..yeah it's slow watch now compared to Ultra, even my 4, but it was damn pricy in 2015 I wasnt about to trash it!) Silver Stainless Steel Series 4 I've been wearing almost non stop since 2018. Still a beautiful watch IMO, OS9 works great in this - probably the last major OS for this version...maybe? But battery life in this eh, it's not that great anymore - even though battery health shows "90%". The Ultra, had to get it, so far it's just amazing. The fact my older bands work with this, it's perfect! I immediately tried my Link band from my S4...yeah, it was a struggle for me also! I almost bailed on that thinking it wasn't going to work for some reason... until it finally went in. This is what I'm wearing as I type! 😃
Although I don’t buy a watch every year, I worry that they’ll stop making the bands compatible every year 😂 Apple surprised me, the Ultra was the perfect opportunity to cut us off and they chose not too. For that, I am a happy Apple user! 😊
good vid. That original metal strap looks rad! The blue leather one also. My 5cents to the audience: don't risk using a cheap copy strap, those might work for an aluminium watch but this one is heavier....dont want to scratch the case....or brake the watch . That is why real apple straps are better. I have an old leather with a buckle ($$$) but it doesn't lock well any more....

You and me both! Looks like we have the same taste in bands. If they had that black trail loop, that would have been coming home with me too. I ALMOST got the white ocean but the fact that my white sport band fit, held me off that one… for now. 🤣
I love the orange band also. Be careful, If you run into a individual that is shady and would rob you. They would see that bright orange band and notice the Ultra watch is attached to it. Cautious, God Bless!

Well I’d bought th expensive stainless with leather loop and given what I’m seeing here, and the fact I’m a bigger than average human, I think before opening it I’ll be making the hour trek across the river Thames to try this on my wrist before commuting to rhe “classier” version. I won’t buy it unless I can get the strap in green without paying more, I’ll never wear the orange and as you stated. The bands are expensive.
Bands are indeed expensive especially if you stick with the Apple ones. I paid a premium for the link bracelet when it was released with the series 0, but since I’m able to use it with 3 different watches, zero regrets. Thanks for watching!🙏
Major flaw with the Alpine Loop Band, pull the band loose to pull your hand out and the metal clasp slaps into the case or the screen violently. Mess up your watch really quick. Feel free to watch my most recent video, I go into a little bit about that. And it's painful obvious Apple didn't think think one through to well.
Sorry but I think this watch fits better on bigger wrists. I like the smaller better on you. But if you want a small sort of computer on your wrist you can do it. Its just the hype. Its fun but you don’t need it.
Would have been nice but they was going for the rugged outdoors look versus luxury look. When you can get away with both. Already have a few leather magnetic bands that would look good on this just need orange one
Milanese and ultra looks so wrong. This watch demands some bulkier watch bands. I would love me some nicer rubber bands. Thicker and in some more nice colors.
Personally, since I’ve had the link bracelet since the release of the very first Apple Watch and I continue use it today with the Ultra, easily makes it worth it. YMMV.

What size is the alpine loop? They come in different sizes trying to figure out the right size to get
Mine is medium for my 175mm wrist. I’d recommend picking a size with your wrist in the mid-end range so you don’t have a lot of leftover strap.

Did you order the trail loop? Those seem to be the most delayed config. If not, I’d check the Apple Store app daily for in store pickup.

Yes, it doesn’t quite fit. The lugs are too large for the watch and extend about 1mm on each side.

@@ReyG_HKSH yea. It interferes with my Apple Watch 6 too. But never tried to be lost with Watch alone. LOL. Yea. Put the leather magnet band on. After a while. The compass is off and it takes time to be demagnetized too
Well I’d bought th expensive stainless with leather loop and given what I’m seeing here, and the fact I’m a bigger than average human, I think before opening it I’ll be making the hour trek across the river Thames to try this on my wrist before commuting to rhe “classier” version.
I won’t buy it unless I can get the strap in green without paying more, I’ll never wear the orange and as you stated. The bands are expensive.
Bands are indeed expensive especially if you stick with the Apple ones. I paid a premium for the link bracelet when it was released with the series 0, but since I’m able to use it with 3 different watches, zero regrets. Thanks for watching!🙏
Major flaw with the Alpine Loop Band, pull the band loose to pull your hand out and the metal clasp slaps into the case or the screen violently. Mess up your watch really quick. Feel free to watch my most recent video, I go into a little bit about that. And it's painful obvious Apple didn't think think one through to well.

Sorry but I think this watch fits better on bigger wrists. I like the smaller better on you. But if you want a small sort of computer on your wrist you can do it. Its just the hype. Its fun but you don’t need it.

Would have been nice but they was going for the rugged outdoors look versus luxury look. When you can get away with both. Already have a few leather magnetic bands that would look good on this just need orange one

Milanese and ultra looks so wrong. This watch demands some bulkier watch bands. I would love me some nicer rubber bands. Thicker and in some more nice colors.
Personally, I think the Milanese Loop looks great on the Ultra but I also would like to see thicker bands. A nice wide NATO style strap would be nice.

Personally, since I’ve had the link bracelet since the release of the very first Apple Watch and I continue use it today with the Ultra, easily makes it worth it. YMMV.
