- A Monarch Butterfly transforms inside its chrysalis before it ecloses, or emerges. The shots are time lapsed - a monarch chrysalis transforms over several days, and it takes the butterfly a few hours from the time it starts to break free until its wings are expanded.

Wow! I’ve seen a lot of these types of videos and I’ve even made some myself but I’ve never seen one as beautiful as this! Great job!
I really appreciate that!

I'm so in love with this video. Beautiful visuals and music. Thank you.
Thank you very much!
I was out hiking years ago, migrating Monarchs came by me whirled around head to toe like a funnel, Incredible
That's amazing. Probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Monarch butterflies are invasive here in Australia, so we get to see them every now and again.
@@wildsideofthings7733 how are monarchs invasive there?

Very beautiful and interesting!!! :o
Thank you very much!
So well done!!! Amazing to view, even after raising over 1000 monarchs!
Many thanks!
Butterfly chrysalises are bizarre. They’re just which dissolve the caterpillar into a mush which then somehow rearranges into a buttery fly. Cool stuff really.
The Radiolab podcast has a great episode on this transformation called “Goo and You” - www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/radiolab/segments/goo-and-you
@@TDtangents thank you for sharing that. I definitely learnt some stuff, didn’t know that they somehow kept their memory after pupation or that they have features of butterflies (wings and all) premade inside him. Definitely bizarre how that goo rearrangement is preset from hatching.
Umas das coisas mais lindas que já vi!
Muito obrigado!
I’m raising monarch catipillars at home! From insect lore!
