    • @worldview6218
      @worldview6218 Год назад +58

      Tbf it’s not like bisping was like this omalley or like poatan type character that the ufc protected and fast tracked to a title to try and make a bunch of money. Bisping was in the trenches for a LONG time fighting everyone and as a late minute replacement against a prime and literally terrifying champion in rockhold that was about as complete a fighter as it was at that time and a guy who’s beaten bisping before and with almost no notice for bisping and him coming off the couch and filming movies bisping went out there and captured the belt and completely shocked the entire ufc brass and mma community. Say what you will about the guy, whether you like him or not, and he’s he’s a dick and yes he once capturing the belt for sure the ufc decided to for a short time shelter him from guys like Whittaker and Romero and Souza and gave him guys like Henderson and later gsp after a long layoff but you can’t fault bisping for that, because obviously back in those days gsp was the draw at the time especially after being out that long and it wasn’t bisping who held things up but gsp playing hardball which also fair play and after a long and super up and down career for bisping to finally lay claim to the belt and with one eye mine you and fighting completely steroid free against a bunch of guys we KNOW were on the juice he wanted to make as much money as he could before he inevitably lost the belt and began to decline. Yeah again I feel for guys like Whittaker or Romero who I personally think would have been dominant reigning champions particularly Whittaker but I also get where bisping was coming from and the ufc as well. I think Whittaker at least will hold that belt again as well and this is particularly true if Chimaev ends up getting a title shot as I think Chimaev blows through adesanya but hits a roadblock in Whittaker that I’m not sure he can get through

      His pride was his downfall. I truly believe if Tony never tore his ACL and fought Khabib he would have called his career by now. If he won, maybe he’d defend it once or twice, then he would hang up the gloves, proving he was always better than the UFC’s golden children in Conor and Khabib. If he lost to Khabib he would have been hit with the reality that Khabib really was too much of a challenge to climb. Tony has always talked like he his greatness was taken from him by Khabib’s and Conor antics, and the UFC never stopped to help him. It created this burn desire in the man to prove that he was worth more than either of them. Khabib hung up the gloves before Tony got a chance to fight him. 5 times they were meant to fight, 5 times the world said no. That does something to a man.

    I commented this on another video but Rockhold's run from Strikeforce and after his run in with trtvitor was so impressive. He was damn near perfect with the exception of his boxing defence. His personality seems to make folk forget how much of a beast he was.
    Also, Rumble at 205 is arguably the biggest boogeyman ever. Considering the monumental damage Glover has pushed through against knockout artists to then go on and win, only for Rumble to finish him in a few seconds. I still wish we had Rumble v Ngannou

    Its interesting to contrast the two of them. Both creative and maybe not the most technical fighters, but different in their orientation (one a defensive counter fighter for the most part with fight ending power and a gifted tactician, the other all attrition based offense, weaponizing pace and at his best a strategist). Yoel the epitome of sheer physical talent while Tony was the epitome of hard work. But yeah, two of my favourite fighters and hopefully Hall of Famers in the future

    An inclusion you coulda made for the Yoel half, was that Tim Kennedy, who is a part of that legendary nine, ‘The Murderers Row’, actually almost finished Romero. He had to hold his glove but Yoel did sit on that stool for 30 seconds longer and thus stoolgate became a thing. And Tony’s part was way shorter than Yoel’s. Anyways I think you coulda made a point that Tony was forged in the fire of American individualism, through The Friday Night Lights, through the tough Wrestling mats, etc.. Only reason why I say Tony’s backstory through Football, Wrestling, Baseball coulda had more light shun on it was because people always speak on kalabeeb being from dagestan or how many others including yourself in this video speak on Yoel’s come-up through the communist/liberation of Cuba. Other than that, please keep these comin because this was fukin sick🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏
