I've watched baseball for almost 30 years; I've never seen a batter argue that a pitch didn't hit him. That's how bad the umpiring crew was last night.
This was the absolute WORST umpiring I have ever seen in my entire life. Balls called strikes, strikes called balls, Altuve being called out on a play where the ball CLEARLY hit him, Profar ruled HBP when he wasn't in a call that was so bad even the Padres were upset about it. Home plate umpire Brennan Miller should be fired, and so should whoever it was in New York who botched that replay review.

I've never heard of a MLB ump being fired. In fact, because of their union, it's pretty much a tenured position. In other-words, they leave their job when they want to or they die. Which ever comes first.

You know the umps aren't looking at squat. They can't even see a baseball properly and since they can't be held accountable for lousy job performance, they'll keep on failing at their job. I'd imagine to actually "get something done about" the horrific ump situation in baseball, it'll take the players union to initiate something effective against the umpires union. Unions ruin everything.
As a Dodgers fan, glad to see the Padres lose, also glad to see Jason Heyward back in uniform. Astros did a smart thing. Jason has a lot of good baseball ahead of him.

Compare that to the Astros broadcasters. Also, this crew and NY replay review are terrible and need to be disciplined. That's twice that a glaringly obvious hbp on Altuve has been gotten wrong and then to call a hbp on Profar when both teams agreed there was no hbp.

These guys are out of control against these guys. @mlb needs to look into this, but then again they probably ordered this. Second time Altuve FOULS a ball off of himself where they call him out, what a disgrace of a “replay center”.
I thought Monday night home plate umpire was atrocious but he was surpassed by Tuesday nights umpire. Bad calls for both teams all game. Just when we thought it couldn’t get worse it does and it will continue. The saddest part is MLB will do nothing to fix the problem. They will just continue to fine the manager and players for being right.

All season & around the league, umps have been “off”. As far as I remember, this is the first season that I can recall home AND away broadcasting questioning, and/or exhibiting genuine disbelief over umpire rulings despite having 4K evidence and frame by frame replay available at multiple angles. Both teams suffered from poor umps today but this game seemed to be called against the Astros to the point of looking scripted. The Astros are definitely not the only team to suffer from garbage like this and it’s a shame that the 2024 playoffs and even World Series will be officiated by doofus’ like this.

How many times are they gonna blow hbp calls. Multiple times plays get hit and it's not called and the players that don't get hit are called hbp. What is going on even with replays. I mean wt actual F!

Umpire crew doesn’t know the rules: like the 7th or eight time this year they have called the foul ball off a body rule. Plus nobody on that crew can call B&S so even at the basic level they’re bad.

Our announcers in Houston seem to keep it a buck. They voice everyone’s opinions and I like that about them.
