Great video! I have a 09 cts, base Bose system and have debated on upgrading the system. This has helped with my decision, thank you very much!
I am glad that I was able to help!!!
Very detailed video thank you so much !!
You are welcome! Thanks for checking out the video!
I will be going back in and mounting the tweeters flush to the plates that I put the tweeters onto. The tweeter does just touch the grill and doesn't let it sit all of the way down so the grill sits up just a little bit - it just annoys me...functionally it is fine, I just find it annoying g that it doesn't quite sit flush 😂
Is there a video of the rear deck lid speaker removal?
Unfortunately I did not think about making a video of that at the time - 😢
It would be nice if you left the link to where you bought the adapters for the speakers.
...it is in the Description 🤷

What do you think will happen if u just cut and wire it to the speaker instead of buying the adapters
You can do that...using adapters simply saves time and makes it easy to revert back to stock if you decide to at another time.
When will u be uploading the video to show how to replace the factory amp and install the aftermarket amp?
Hopefully this week!
Awesome great videos u have going on also was their a huge different between the factory stereo sound vs the aftermarket? Because i might do this to my 2012 cadillac cts coupe 3.6
@@jsfkmm there was a huge difference just by swapping out speakers! It sounds a lot clearer and the tweeters are obviously way better than the stock Bose ones as it really brightened up the sound.
I had swapped out the head unit last year (wish I had made a video for that!) which was great for things like Android Auto and Car play.
The factory Bose amp is on its way out and that is the main reason that I am bypassing that and adding the Alpine Power Pack amplifier.
@Amundred nice I'm looking forward to watching that video and I also figured out on my 3.6 engine it didn't like a mechman alternator I put in when I had car audio in it so I pulled it all out and went back to stock audio and alternator.
Did the factory amp have enough to push the front speakers? I have a 2016 vsport and I have some old school 6.5 @ 2 ohms I want to put in my front doors, but I was told it would burn the amp up. What ohms are the factory front speakers and size
Honestly, the speakers sounded good on the factory amp. I was surprised by this, but they sound much better in my Focus with an aftermarket amp for them than they do in the Caddy with the factory amp. But if I did not have the Focus to compare them to, I would be extremely happy with the sound! 👍
@@Amundred awesome thanks I’ll be using a keyloc to hook up my subwoofer but eventually will get the pac ampro ap-4gm61. I heard it’s the best
I did not check the factory speakers for resistance (if I still have them I can check to see what they show) - in most vehicles Bose runs something like 2.4ohm speakers.
@@Amundred I believe on my ATS they were 1.2 ohms but can’t remember.
did you bypass the amp? if so what harness did you use?
I did bypass the amp...I made a video specifically for that!

Question, do you know if the rear deck subwoofer is a 6.75” or 8” size? Been curious and cannot find any info
It was definitely bigger than 6.75"
@@Amundred appreciate you, found out it’s a 8” sub, thinking about doing a clean install and take my 12” sub out and redo all interior speakers and swap the factory sub with a nice 300-700 watt rms 8” sub
@shelovessle3265 I think putting an 8" free air sub in place of the factory sub would be a great route to go!!/
Can I see a video on how u change the speaker back window
Are you talking about the subwoofer? The one in the center of the rear deck?
@@Amundredyes
I do not have a video handy to upload, but the back seat needs to be removed as well as the rear deck cover, so it is kind of a pain in the butt!
What size was your back speakers? 5.25
Correct, I believe that they were 5.25"
are the front door speakers 5.25 also@@Amundred
@@michaeljs01 the front doors were 6.5" on this 2013 CTS
does it work well with OEM amplifier?
The speakers worked great with the OEM amplifier - I ended up swapping out for an Alpine amp and bypassing the OEM amp as the one in the car was going bad
@@Amundredhow can I do that currently working on it right now stock radio but has a system already
@@trillstyleo0801 like it has an aftermarket stereo?
@@Amundred no it’s factory
@@trillstyleo0801 does it have subs+amp or does it also already have an amp for door speakers?
Also, is it the navigation head unit or non-navigation unit?
