One of the saddest moments is in season 6 episode 22 when Lorelei gives Luke an ultimatum to finally get married then walks away. Her crying "don't you love me? I love you, Luke! I *love* you!" Then at the end of their fight giving up with "and I have to go" then walking off, it kills me every time!!!
I was just about to say this bc I will never understand what Lindsay did to deserve that and for dean to just sit there and act happy for her but deep down he’s holding back a rlly deep secret.
I wish the writers hadn’t done that. It’s not surprising that Rory sleeps with a married man, but I never thought Dean would cheat on his wife. It’s crazy that the only guy Rory didn’t sleep with is bad-boy Jess.
for me the saddest scene was when jess breaks down to his dad saying "you have nothing? i have nothing! i have no place to go". people demonize him for how he was as a 16 year old. but the fact is he had such a messed up childhood with no one being able to be there for him and that obviously affected him a lot. and to see him grow up from there and become a great man is so satisfying!
@@snoozyq9576 yeah I couldn’t stand his character, I understood why he was the way he was, but he continuously dragged people down with him which made me hate him, until after his break up with Rory, then he actually had character growth and he became a decent man instead of just the obnoxious “misunderstood” bad boy. Everyone cut him way too much slack, he needed Luke but at times I wish Luke was a little harder on him cause that’s what he needed. I’m glad he later realized how awful he treated people and made amends and actually made something of himself, ironically Rory who he credits for helping him to become a good man, gets worse as the seasons go on. It feels like everyone on the show had genuine believable character growth, meanwhile Rory actively turns into a worse person as the seasons go by.
Lorelai crying when Paul Anka gets sick always brings tears to my eyes because it's so well juxtaposed with how much she wished she could have spotted the signs of derailment in Rory
Ikkkk it's probly my favorite scene it so cute and sad and wholesome and when lorelai was crying and luke sai "did you sleep at all" "you take the moring off" OMGGG my mental state can not handle it!
Bit on the fence with this one because she's obviously shocked and saddened that Loralai chose to live there instead of with her but she gets angry about it too, which is the wrong thing to take away from seeing that
@@hablah9743oh absolutely it's an on the fence moment. That's why it makes me sad actually. You can see she regrets it but then she gets mad because she's Emily Gilmore and she was obviously the wronged party in all of it!
my number one is when Loreli gives Luke an ultimatum about marrying her and when he finally comes round to the idea of doing it as soon as possible she tells him that she slept with Christopher. the way Luke drives away without saying a word leaving Loreli on her doorstep kills me everytime. 💔💔💔
the only good things to come from that sequence of frustrating events were Luke sucker punching Christopher as he answers the door & the brawl in the town square
There was an episode at Emilys and Richard house, where Lorelai had an argument with Christopher, and Emily stepped in to defend her, that was a sad scene, great acting
ok I was wondering about this. it was the only moment of the show I cried. I also thought luke and lorelai's break up at the end of season 6 after finding out about april should have been on here.
Mrs Kim kicking out Lane made me both sad and angry. I'm glad she eventually realized that her daughter is an individual person and she couldn't keep controlling every aspect of her life. But the fact she consistently denied her her individuality for so many years and made her feel like she had to hide it made Mrs Kim a complicated character to like at first.
Mrs Kim was awful it’s just her way or the highway but it’s not like Lane was a troubled girl she was so good but she liked different things than her mom which is normal
Mrs. Kim didn't kick Lane out of the house. Emily told her she may leave and do what she wants somewhere else. Lane was the one who left. Mrs. Kim was so calm.
to me one scene that really made me tear up was when Jess came to Yale to tell Rory to run away together and start over and that he was ready now and Rory said no and he said "only say no if you really don't want to be with me" and she said no and he just stood there looking defeated and left and the "la la la la" little song in the background made it even sadder
For me, it's Jess looking longingly at Rory through the window before he leaves. It's implied that he may continue to pine over her for years, like Luke did to Lorelai.
@@stephiem09612 Rory and Paris needs to be together in college. And Rory choosing Yale is part of her coming of age. She made a pro/con list. Just because Harvard is the most prestigious doesnt mean it is the right one for her. And Gilmore Girls didn't shoot in Yale. They filmed in schools in California. So not being able to shoot in some school is irrelevant
Two moments in the last episode. First was when Richard tells Lorelei that the going away party for Rory wasn't only for Rory. The other scene is when Rory is getting ready to leave and Lorelei keeps suggesting things for Rory to take and Rory tells her You've given me everything I need.
I agree with the Richard part and what annoyed the snot out of me was Emily interrupting him. It was very rare to see that kind of emotion from Richard and she just couldn't let him finish.
I was also sad seeing Max Medina and Lorelai not making it the altar as well. I was actually rooting for those two early on the show before Luke even came into the picture seasons later. Another moment was seeing Emily looking at the room that Lorelai was living in while taking care of an infant Rory realizing a lot of moments she missed because of her contemptuous relationship with her daughter.
I didnt care for Max. He was not a good fit for her or Rory He was upset that Lorali didnt tell Rory to come in after her date. He was trying to be her dad. that wouldve never worked. He didnt like how they were as mom and daughter. didnt like him .
When rory fell to her knees when she called dean’s phone and lindsay answered… it was so sad in a way that we saw how defeated she was and she realized just how wrong she were…. Also the moment lorelai said “I slept with Christopher” to Luke…. Truly heart breaking
Not really. Rory cheated on Dean with Jess. She honestly deserved it. Then she slept with him knowing he was married. Like girl, you had your chance and you blew it.
Saddest 3 moments for me were 1. when Lorelei cried to Luke about Christopher, that she really wants it, everything and thinks she’ll just never have it “…the white picked fence…” and that Christopher got his life together just to have all that with someone else. Also 2. when Lorelei cries to Luke on a bench about how her grandmother called her a charity case and how she felt she was failing and needed a loan because she was running out of money for the inn. 3. In the revival that musical scene “unbreakable”…because once you grow older and realize that there are no dreams left and life didn’t go as you thought it would - the result of all your choices wrong or right and maybe certain things just weren’t in the cards for you…this actually is the saddest thing…the what ifs and the feeling of time running out…the never or now…very sad actually. These 3 moments actually had me in tears.
Lane's journey with her mom is so sad. She clearly wanted to be her mom's friend and share her life, but Ms. Kim never saw anything that interested Lane as something worth of approval
In "AYITL" when Rory walks into Richard 's study and sees him sitting at his desk. That just tore my heart up. I'd been a huge fan of Edward Hermann's for a long time, and was lucky enough to see him onstage in New York in the late 80's.
I'm watching the series with my partner for his first time and was on my spin bike watching that episode last night, realized what episode it was and said maybe I shouldn't do a work out right now. You best believe I sat there cycling and crying while lorelei sang lmao
@@erinlizzie09 darn it I'm still so far of I'm only on season 5 episode 16 I was hoping I'd come across it soon looks like I have some waiting to do though
I just started watching Gilmore girls again and it affected me deeply. The first time I watched the show, I was in high school and naturally my main character was Rory. I cared about her decisions and I was watching her story. I went to a private school where everyone was extremely competitive, and the parts of the show I cared about were Rory's life. Now I'm an adult who goes to work in the morning and comes home in the evening. I don't have a child, but Lorelai's fight with life and family, always trying to hold on to life, standing somehow made me feel different. While I enjoyed parts of Rory, my main focus and parts of empathy were Lorelai and her life. It's like watching the show for the first time. The series puts me in a sad nostalgic mood for some reason. Maybe I should face the fact that I can't be younger anymore and say goodbye to Rory.
I think Rory’s whole relationship to Jess was kinda sad because although they loved each other dearly, they had issues from the very beginning which they didn’t want to discuss or weren’t aware of or didn’t want to be aware of it. That was made clear in the revival. That being said, an honorable mention should’ve been the scene in which Jess appears out of the blue at Sukis wedding, they share a moment and she leaves for that camp. Poor Jess
I love how there is often a tiny bit of humour mixed in with the sadness. Emily being so overbearingly Emily in the hospital, Luke having to be dragged off by Lorelai so he doesn't fight Dean, the prostitute quote while Emily and Richard were fighting. I don&t know if it makes it sadder, or helps up deal with the tragedy.
You missed the scene where Lorelai is sitting in Luke’s with Luke after the diner is closed. This is right after she finds out about Sheri and Chris having a baby and she’s devastated. She then says to him “I’m never gonna have it. The whole package. Now he gets to have it with her.” I never fully understood that line until I got older.
There was this one scene after Lorelai and Luke have broken up and Lorelai is all sad about it and crying in her bed when she just unconsciously calls him and just tells him that she wants her best friend back. I remember crying so much in a bus and that was heartbreaking for me
This has been my favorite show since I was 11, when it was still on the WB. I’m now 32, going to be 33 in October and continue to binge watch it on Netflix because it is easier than switching disc to disc on my box sets. I feel Christopher had no right to be on this list for obvious reasons, but I will say I didn’t make it past #3 without disappearing into a puddle of tears. GG forever!
although i'm still on season five, i can definitely say my favorite saddest moment was when rory and lorelai broke down because of burn out ,, "the incredible sinking lorelais" was such a good episode TT ♡
the whole s3e13 is breaking me… the flashbacks how lorelai had rory… alone… well maybe its cause i had my daughter alone too, this whole episodes has me bawling. and of corse the karaoke scene
the part in the last episode where Rory asks Lorelai why she’s not upset and she goes ‘it’s too soon. If I stop to think about it, I’m going to fall apart, so it’s too soon.’ it makes me bawl every time I watch it. Also, when Richard dies, and when Lorelai gives Luke an ultimatum.
for me when lorelai asked for marriage got me to tears. For the first time i saw her vulnerable, her voice were deep and cracked. I cannot count how many times i watched that scene.
Grew up watching Gilmore Girls and I LOVE it. At number 7, Jess didn't really make a scene, he was just there at the dance. Rory was the one constantly complaining about him and argued with him. Dean breaking up with Rory was uncomfortable to watch but not really unexpected and I don't think Dean was completely wrong either. There was more than one reason he got fed up. Are there going to be more "Times Gilmore Girls-characters was the Worst" videos?
My favourite show of all time this show is unique it contains happiness humour and sadness and it is bittersweet! People should give this show more recognition unlike shows like Riverdale and Love Island!!!
In the revival when Rory goes to their house to write and she’s walking thru the rooms and different memorable scenes show with them in the past and with Richard. This moment had me bawling like a baby and does every time I watch it.
One of the moments not on this list that made me cry was when Emily shows Lorelai the house that was meant to be a wedding present for her and Luke. None of the Rory/Dean breakups were sad. 😒
Number 6 on this list is number 1 on mine. Loralie singing I Will Always Love You, first to her daughter and then morphing into a halting and tender torch song to Luke. With only 2 episodes to go in the series, it also serves as a heart-ripping farewell to all of us. Not a dry eye in the house.
The part where Chris finds out his girlfriend is pregnant. Cell phones are a double edge sword. It would have been better to receive the call when he was back at home, to at least not get Lorelai heart broken, on her best friend's wedding.
All sad and all brought tears, but from this video I think number 6, 1 and the graduation speech were the saddest. Love the show, tears of joy and sadness in equal measures
When Richard goes to Stars Hollow and, near the end, tells Lorelai how it feels to be obsolete and he hopes that she never knows what it's like to feel that way. 💔💔💔💔💔💔
The saddest moment was what the writers did with Luke and Lorelai’s relationship and the revival was TRASH everything they fought for and we were all finally relieved they ended up together but the revival was awful
I agree there were some scenes they could have left out.. In the series when they had those plays in Stars Hallow, they would always show a small part then cut to another scene..but in the revival omg they showed the whole entire play..That was exhausting to sit through I couldn't take it anymore.
The saddest moment for me was at Rory's Yale graduation when Logan asked for her answer on if she would marry him and when she said no he just walked away
i just find it so cruel when sometimes in shows they have an episode where one of the characters die but then the actual actor who plays it died it’s just so cruel
I was most moved by the final episode where the whole town shows up to bid Rory adieu .Very surprised it wasn't mentioned...I always tear up for that one.
i’m sorry but the saddest moment ever really was missed here ah. in the last episode of the main series (season 7, ep 22) when lorelai looks into rory’s room and says goodnight to her for the last time. i cried my heart out omgg. that is the saddest moment. 💗😭
Saddest Gilmore girls moments Emily discovering the truth from Richard’s mom’s letter Lorelei with Luke while Rory with Dean having those sobbing breakdowns.
the one that did affect me was Richard almost died was really scary to watch since it happened in a presentation classroom with Rory watching her grandfather do this in a classroom it was a lot of shock.
one of the saddest scenes i can remember that i don’t see anyone else mentioning: when richard and emily are discussing rory not going to school and being in the DAR. richard says he wanted more for her and emily says something like “so you don’t want her to turn out like me?” i don’t remember that moment ever even being resolved
when Lorelai tells Christopher that seeing him come after her after wanting to go back to his girlfriend, when Rory puts Christopher in his place and says she chose not to text him back, when we have the flashback and Lorelei is sitting alone at the hospital with no family around, when Luke's family member dies.
In #2 "you may go first" he didn't have a heart attack. He had chest pain, but it wasn't a heart attack, it was angina. The heart attack happened in season 7.
Y'know, at first I really disliked him, but he grew so much. When he came back and wished Rory a happy birthday after they'd argued my heart melted toward him. And by the time AYITL came around, I was just like "Girl, open your eyes! He's right in front of you!" 😊
@@alyzu4755 yeah I didn't like jess at first but I did grew to love him I really enjoyed his character grow on the show out of all the men that rory has dated he's my favorite
Very very great list I like it a lot very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 💝 Gilmore girls is one of the very best tv shows ever you should do a lot of the top ten worst things Emily did list
One of the saddest scenes in GG was in season 6 when Rory tells Jess she's in love with Logan, you can see all the mess that was happening in her head through her eyes :(
an honorable mention too is when Lane and David didn´t ended up together, he truly loved her (like girl he read the WHOLE BIBLE just to have Mrs. Kim´s approval to get Lane to her PROM), i really didn´t liked the way the writers ended their story
right? we need another Year In The Life, I want to see Luke & Lorelai as grandparents ( and maybe see Aunt April babysit while Rory & Jess reconnect... )
@@newageBoundhippie Yes, another "Year in The Life". I'd like to see Logan give up on his family-sponsored "engagement" and get back together with Rory to raise their child together (with Luke and Lorelai as grandparents).
I don't know if anyone liked Tristan's storyline, but in my opinion I also find it very sad when he wanted to kiss Rory goodbye when he told her he was leaving Chilton to enter a military school, low-key wanted both of them to have a more developed enemies to lovers story than just a kiss at a party, like i´m not justifying the way he treated her at the beggining of the show but i think we would´ve been a great boyfriend
Yesterday last nigth and this morning. don`t ask Question don`t ask Questionions Loreley clearly have problems to see her parents like that .I loved it
Gilmore Girls is is one of those shows that maintained their high standards until the final season. Yes it peaked in season 3 but it was great from start to end. Same as Friends; yes it peaked in seasons 4-5-6 but it was great till the end.
Another honorable mention for me would be Emily and the plane. So rarely does she show how she feels. The hurt she had of feeling invaluable to her husband, no longer serving her wifely duties as a rich businessman’s wife. It’s a posh privileged life, of course, but she dedicated her life to it. To standing by a man and helping him to become successful. I can’t imagine feeling tossed aside and worthless like that. It was heartbreaking.
valedictorian speech any breakup ultimately bawling moments for sure also the karaoke scene definitely but richard's death whole other level including losing trix richard's mom the reigning lorelai also that as well the kick out and the rift kind of the same thing but different characters

I knew from the first episode, Luke and Lorelei would end up together and were destined to be together.
It's heavily implied by her saying "Should I date Luke?"
Obvi Luke likes to keep his feelings lowkey, but being in love with Lorelai was very obvious
Rory Gilmore: "I THINK I MAY HAVE LOVED YOU, BUT I JUST NEED TO LET IT GO" 📞💔
Taylor Swift: "YOU CALL ME UP AGAIN JUST TO BREAK ME LIKE A PROMISE" ☎💔
I think Rory’s whole relationship to Jess was kinda sad because although they loved each other dearly, they had issues from the very beginning which they didn’t want to discuss or weren’t aware of or didn’t want to be aware of it. That was made clear in the revival.
That being said, an honorable mention should’ve been the scene in which Jess appears out of the blue at Sukis wedding, they share a moment and she leaves for that camp. Poor Jess
Yo en realidad pienso q Rory nunca amó a Jess.. lo olvido tan rápido y ella nunca le dijo q lo amaba 💔 😢 😔
They were to young to discuss that. The chemistry they had was real because they really dated.
GG forever!
paris saying “how can i tell them i never got into harvard?”
I understand why Dean broke up with Rory at the dance marathon
She deserved it
duh
When Jess said to his father "I HAVE NOTHING"my heart just went💔
Yeah, that one has been playing through my head a lot lately
exactly i felt so bad😢
MsMojo: “Which moment had you welling up?”
Me: Yes
I think one of the saddest moments in gilmore girls is when Logan leaves Rory at her college graduation after she turned down his mariage proposal.
I wasn't a fan of Lorelai and Christopher being together but when he left FOR GOOD after their marriage stint - that was actually heartbreaking.
No it wasn't he was a crappy husband who couldn't be their for his wife and daughter
although i'm still on season five, i can definitely say my favorite saddest moment was when rory and lorelai broke down because of burn out ,, "the incredible sinking lorelais" was such a good episode TT ♡
the whole s3e13 is breaking me… the flashbacks how lorelai had rory… alone… well maybe its cause i had my daughter alone too, this whole episodes has me bawling. and of corse the karaoke scene
❤️💞
the part in the last episode where Rory asks Lorelai why she’s not upset and she goes
‘it’s too soon. If I stop to think about it, I’m going to fall apart, so it’s too soon.’
it makes me bawl every time I watch it. Also, when Richard dies, and when Lorelai gives Luke an ultimatum.
I truly loved Gilmore girls they don't make shows like that anymore there's no love anymore
Ginny and Georgia is another such show
FR. Literally every show is some ghetto euphoria shit now 😭💀 I don’t wanna see teenagers doing the dirty and doing drugs
for me when lorelai asked for marriage got me to tears. For the first time i saw her vulnerable, her voice were deep and cracked. I cannot count how many times i watched that scene.
I love the Gilmore Girls. I wish so much to see a Year in the life two.
I can not foget the "I need my best friend. Can you please come over?" It breaks my heart all the time
I remember crying when Lorelai cried for Luke saying “he could be the one”.
One of the moments not on this list that made me cry was when Emily shows Lorelai the house that was meant to be a wedding present for her and Luke.
None of the Rory/Dean breakups were sad. 😒
i think paris not getting into harvard and richards passing hurts the most
Number 6 on this list is number 1 on mine.
I was shocked and sad when Emily and Richard separated 😳😥
The saddest moment was what the writers did with Luke and Lorelai’s relationship and the revival was TRASH everything they fought for and we were all finally relieved they ended up together but the revival was awful
The revival was terrible. Yet I find myself wanting a spin off that follows Rory and her kid.
I don't think it was trashed at all. Alot can change in 10 years.
I agree there were some scenes they could have left out.. In the series when they had those plays in Stars Hallow, they would always show a small part then cut to another scene..but in the revival omg they showed the whole entire play..That was exhausting to sit through I couldn't take it anymore.
@@The1sarissaI was dreading watching the revival because I was CERTAIN they were going to try SO HARD to make it a musical somehow.
I always loved how Luke got teary eyes over Rory graduating lol
The saddest moment for me was at Rory's Yale graduation when Logan asked for her answer on if she would marry him and when she said no he just walked away
i just find it so cruel when sometimes in shows they have an episode where one of the characters die but then the actual actor who plays it died it’s just so cruel
“Only prostitutes have two glasses of wine at lunch” 😂😂😂 well, I guess I’m open for business too
Love this show! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was most moved by the final episode where the whole town shows up to bid Rory adieu .Very surprised it wasn't mentioned...I always tear up for that one.
The fact I watched this and thought I wouldn’t get choked up. 😢
Msmojo rocks RUclips
Thanks! :)
i’m sorry but the saddest moment ever really was missed here ah. in the last episode of the main series (season 7, ep 22) when lorelai looks into rory’s room and says goodnight to her for the last time. i cried my heart out omgg. that is the saddest moment. 💗😭
The acting in that lorelai break up scene is some of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s so raw and real she deserved an Emmy for that scene alone
Saddest Gilmore girls moments
Emily discovering the truth from Richard’s mom’s letter
Lorelei with Luke while Rory with Dean having those sobbing breakdowns.
the one that did affect me was Richard almost died was really scary to watch since it happened in a presentation classroom with Rory watching her grandfather do this in a classroom it was a lot of shock.
one of the saddest scenes i can remember that i don’t see anyone else mentioning: when richard and emily are discussing rory not going to school and being in the DAR. richard says he wanted more for her and emily says something like “so you don’t want her to turn out like me?” i don’t remember that moment ever even being resolved
every lorelai and chris breakup had me crying tears of joy, no way people were sad over that😭
when Lorelai tells Christopher that seeing him come after her after wanting to go back to his girlfriend, when Rory puts Christopher in his place and says she chose not to text him back, when we have the flashback and Lorelei is sitting alone at the hospital with no family around, when Luke's family member dies.
saddest moment is in the series finale when lorelai tucks rory in for the last time in her childhood bed/room.
im heartbroken and this is my favrite show
I love this list, but why isn’t Rory rejecting Logan’s Proposal on here
She should have married him. Her life didn’t get any better from there.
I love this show so much
‘Mom…you’ve given me everything I need’ 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤
Please do another Gilmore Girls video soon
when Rory misses her mom's graduation
Broke my heart again and again.
In #2 "you may go first" he didn't have a heart attack. He had chest pain, but it wasn't a heart attack, it was angina. The heart attack happened in season 7.
Msmojo you guys should do video that focuses jess love him 🤔
Y'know, at first I really disliked him, but he grew so much.
@@angelaholmes8888 He's great, after you get over his flirting with a girl who was a bf. His character is the best in the series.
@@alyzu4755 He was too good for her by then
Paris not getting into harvard and rory and Lorelei (mostly lor for some reason) breaking down in season for always makes me cry
Very very great list I like it a lot very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 💝 Gilmore girls is one of the very best tv shows ever you should do a lot of the top ten worst things Emily did list
The whole episode where Luke and lorelai were broken up for the first time and she sends him the voice mail begging him to come over
Thank for The Awesome Video ❤️❤️🌈🌈🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🏆🏆
So this was really sad, but I did laugh so hard at 'What you need is sensitivity training!'
So upset that they left the cliffhanger with Rory being pregnant smh
right? we need another Year In The Life, I want to see Luke & Lorelai as grandparents ( and maybe see Aunt April babysit while Rory & Jess reconnect... )
@@newageBoundhippie Yes, another "Year in The Life". I'd like to see Logan give up on his family-sponsored "engagement" and get back together with Rory to raise their child together (with Luke and Lorelai as grandparents).
@@newageBoundhippie exactly. logan and rory dont make sense anymore. its obvious jess should come into the picture.
@@zumann874 Jess is too good for Rory
I don't know if anyone liked Tristan's storyline, but in my opinion I also find it very sad when he wanted to kiss Rory goodbye when he told her he was leaving Chilton to enter a military school, low-key wanted both of them to have a more developed enemies to lovers story than just a kiss at a party, like i´m not justifying the way he treated her at the beggining of the show but i think we would´ve been a great boyfriend
I think luke and lorerai breakup one made me cry for days
11:43 the sad part is, she didn’t go first 😢
how about a list of moments where Rory was the worst? because looking back, her character is questionable and often a selfish brat. 😑
No she wasn't if anything who was selfish brat was Paris
It was heartbreaking.
valedictorian speech any breakup ultimately bawling moments for sure also the karaoke scene definitely but richard's death whole other level including losing trix richard's mom the reigning lorelai also that as well the kick out and the rift kind of the same thing but different characters
no but what about the scene when Jess and Rory are in the bus but jess is leaving SH and Rory doesn't know and she says "you will call me right?"
