  • USCE(United States Clinical Experience) aka. Clinical Rotations in the US are a very important part of matching in the USMLE Journey. Carefully Researching and Selecting Electives specific to you is a very important step to match in your dream residency as an IMG. Keep in mind that a lot of good electives require a USMLE Step 1 score. So It's a good idea to give it first and then apply for electives.

Hey Doc, you've provided a ton of information and resources in this video. I appreciate your efforts in elaborating on different perspectives of USCE. But there are a lot of gaps in this information as well. You've gone through the topic superfluously, and by that, I'd like to know more about research experience and publishing papers for the program. Will it be an excellent topic for your next vlog? I'll be waiting for that video. I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Dear Dr. Madaan, thank you for all your helpful videos. Your channel is a great source for IMG's. I would like to ask a question and would be very happy if you could share your thoughts: I am a US IMG interested in ophthalmology. I realize how competitive it is so I am looking for postdoctoral research positions to improve my chance of matching. I was thinking of working in a basic science lab but I have heard that clinical research can be more beneficial (My friends have told me that quantity>quality of papers when it comes to the residency match). I was wondering if you believe this is true and if so; how would you advise me to go about looking for these positions (e.g should I directly contact PD's, physicians)? Thank you very much in advance, I wish you the best.

This video is very informative, thank you.
Please I’d like to ask, can a graduate still go through the VSLO program?
Although my school does not have one, I want to see if it’s possible to ask them to get one.
Could you advise me if there’s any need to pursue that, being a Graduate already.
