I have a dedicated crock pot for melting wax in so I don't have to babysit it- you'll still have to check it and give it a stir here and there but I find it to be easier to control the temperature too. I got mine from the thrift store so it was really reasonably priced.
lol see this is how I make my candles.. I have an old pot that I use to boil or heat my water… and I have an old coffee pot that I use to melt with.. no fancy stuff both pots at a thrift store for less than a 1.00.. to hold my wicks I took popsicle stick and drilled a hole in the center the wick goes right in the hole… simple used what I have and I just use over and over again… I also save any jar we get and have other save their jars for me.. we don’t buy a lot of things in jars as I grow and can most of our items… but I have family members that’s buy a lot so they save for me.. I use them to store leftovers for candles and for salves…
I have done the very same, someone gave me wick holders which was kind... I actually use them for more than just candles! I can and use jars over and over again, love glass jars!
Half beeswax and half tallow candles burn nice too! White beeswax? Interesting!
Most smelly things give me migraines too! In a not weird parasocial way, we would probably be friends. 😂
Absolutely!! I seriously appreciate people who get it and the spaces that have signs for no fragrance… sorry you have migraines from smells too!

Thank you I’m just starting out and this was really helpful.
Just wondering, why are you scraping someone
Else’s Bee stuff?
My mom used a coffee can to melt wax in.
That's a good idea!! I don't drink coffee or I may have had one!

I like the idea of a coffee pot because it has a handle and pour spout. Genius

My beeswax (from my hives) candles always crack when they cool. Am I not letting it cool enough before pouring? I think I read that somewhere.
Can you double boil the container your using for the candle and skip the pouring??
In theory yes, but I would think the wick might bend because of the heat and the melting... I like to stir my wax as it melts.
Can u reuse any wax once the candle has burned? I buy ready made beeswax candles but wondering if i should keep the melted wax?
Yes, I re-use the wax at the bottom of all of my candles to create new candles, and then reuse the jars again!
I also love to sniff beeswax 😅
hahaha glad I'm not alone!!
