thats so awesome, you kids today are so lucky to be able to follow tutorials like Marks and others.they are way better teachers than the old highschool teachers we had in my day! i took art at school and faild to take turn in one piece of work,as the teacher was only interseted in perving on these two girls. im now 48 and started drawing for my boy,now people tell me i should be selling my drawings.....that teacher failed 99% of us as kids. Mark as thought me more in one video! (not saying all teachers are like that by the way). happy drawing
I was like ''No, no man, do not leave that shadow like that flowing over the brick and fall over like some kind of liquid''... Then that timelapse came, you corrected it, and it was such a relief... You made me sweat and my OCD meter just went trough the roof... Love your videos, keep up!
I was having a little bit of trouble in class when we were taught "Three Point Perspective" and I think this has honestly helped me out a ton! Thanks a lot, Mr. Crilley!
I really am happy you put videos out here, I've gotten so much better watching your videos and learning a few techniques from you here and there.I recommended a friend to you and now he's began drawing too!!
I love how the demo pieces that you come up with to show us different skills and techniques are all things that I would be so proud to have come up with myself and would probably end out framing :P
Hello, Mark. Thank you so much for your videos! This series in particular has really helped me understand perspective and feel more relaxed about it. That aside, your videos are very entertaining, I usually just watch tutorials on fast forward, but yours are really worth listening to, for all the funny voices and comments. Keep doing great work!
just commented on your super hero tutorial. just to say, you are a great teacher for us all so thank you for that! i love drawing along to your videos, you have helped me a lot. thanks Mark....keep up the great work!
This perspective points tutorial you did, really helped me. 3 years ago i took a 3 months course of perspective and graphic designing and I loved and then I applied to my uni at graphic design section. It helped me a lot! Thank you!!!!
We had this in school, along with two and one point perspective, but at that time I wasn't that much into drawing in perspective, so I forgot about it. Thanks for teaching me again! ;)
I started drawing the backgrounds like this just a while before this video was made! I got it through the technique of another channel called koizu who draws poses with simple rough shapes and saves details for last. He said that the position is more important than the details, which really helped me out! It gets the job done easier and quicker.
Thank you for completing the series. I always found perspective drawing difficult, especially the 2 and 3...mostly about why the points are at different distances. But you've made it so clear and easy to understand that now I can do it without feeling frustrated. I am still learning but it's a process I enjoy immensely. Have a good one.
Montana Mark and the quest for the Golden Gouache! Thanks for this great video, three point is definitely a weakness of mine, and this video is really helpful!
Hi, Mark. I'm a long time viewer but this is one of my first comments. I just thought I'd say that aside from being entertaining your vids have really helped my art. I especially love the "technique" videos like this perspective series. Thank you.
+markcrilley hi mark i have a question about 3 point prespective: if the 3rd point was above the west and east points will it give you then a worm eye view?
Oh my gosh. Thank you so much for making this video! I have watched a lot of videos on 3 point perspective, but never really understood how to do it until now.
I love these perspective vids ! I learn so much from these. And the technique of scanning your pencils is really awesome and something I'm going to try. Thnx Mark !
Thank you Marc! :) that helped me so much to understand 3-Point Perspective and I can finally develop my concept arts with this method! I'm kinda happy that I also realized that it's appropriate to start without the ruler and then continue with it. The ruler always shows me that I did it so wrong but thats no problem because it's a big help when I see my lines and just correct them afterwards. Btw. I also drew an forgotten temple with scratches and so on, what a nice coincidence.
Omg when i watch the time lapse version i though about the perspective you were using, and the only way having such one, was to extend the perspective point. I was so surprised when i saw that huge paper^^D . Nice job as always mark Crilley.
Thanks Mark! Such an informative video! Your videos inspire me to draw everyday, so thanks again! I would love to have a video on how you adjusted the colour/contrast on the computer! Thanks Nick
I finally found out what Garageband is. I am glad I did because before I thought you were a artist in a rock band. Anyway great video Mark , if only the little character could have blushies.
Mark could you do more of the adventure type of drawings like this one. I find it very fascinating and fun to watch and allows me to get more ideas and inspiration thanks again for great videos.
Hey Mark, Can you do a video on odd shapes in a Perspective Drawing, such as arches, spheres, etc.? Thank you! P.S. Thank you for posting these videos. You are a very talented artist and I have learned a lot from you.
Hey I realized that you are the one who wrote the Drawing Lesson book I really enjoyed. I loved it, but the last chapter had me in tears. I'm writing a graphic memoir and I'm researching all of this. I have a scene in court and going to court was scary as heck, so I am trying to figure out how to use Illustrator to draw a court room from a worm's eye view to show how scary it was. I'll look and see if you have a room from a worm's eye view, but thanks for your book. I made a mind map of your book.
I created a small stage for manikins and such and set up my sketch pad on a work table set up with pegs and strings for quickly establishing any number of perspective points and discovered that all of the shadows on the stage tied to a single subterranean point no matter where on the stage the object was. This is using a single overhead light aimed at the stage.
Isn't there also a camera angle? As well as the 3 perspective points. Depending how close to the subject the perspective points would be either close or far?
This video is super helpful! Please put out a detailed instructional book that focuses on 3,4, & 5 pt. perspectives with DVD. Do you use picture references and or when applying a decayed environment?
Hey Mark!! This is awesome!!! I just wanted to ask if you could make a video about drawing the head in different angles, like having the person look up and down. I find that getting the jaw and neck and nose right can be really hard when drawing the head in these positions... (If you have a video on this already then never mind) Anyways, thanks for all your videos, I've learned so much from your channel! :)
Please do another Star Wars video in the spirit of The Force Awakens! I dont care if its a how to draw or another point perspective, PLEASE JUST DO ONE!
Hey Mark I love you're video's and I just wanted to ask if you could do a video on arms I can't fine any good video's any where and all my arms look pretty bad.
Love the videos , I learn a lot from them. One question..how do you actually place the perspective points before even starting to draw . 1 point perspective is easy to place but when u go up to 2 point or 3 point perspective I don't really know where to place the perspective points.
Do you digital ink your current works? and if so, would using a program like Lazy Nezumi Pro be worthy of a choice to using for a ruler oncommand digital tool?
I'm more use to naming my vanishing points as simple L.V.P., R.V.P., B.V.P., rather than to have it with other names. But then, whatever works, as long as the finished product is beautiful and presentable, your audience will not bother how the process and what you applied (and called).
Are there any tricks to do this without having an actual point waay outside of the panel? I know you can do this with 2-point perspective but is there a way to do it with 3-point?
hey I started a new project for my art class but I'd really don't know how to draw those shiny cloths or glossy cloths so maybe you could do a video on that. Thanks p.s you and your videos are life savers
Mark may you please draw a like shoe drawing tutorial from different angles? I know that might be a beginner thing to know, but I'm still having trouble with it. It can be any type of shoe, but preferably sneakers. If you've already done one like that, please tell me!!! Thanks so much, you're a great help! :)
+Anime Lover Don't be ashamed of it. Variating the perspective, especially when it comes to bird or worm views are rather hard to figure out, and even for non-beginners, beacause you generaly need to picture the subject clearly in your mind.
Hey Mark. I'm an amateur in every sense of the word. As a younger child I was rather good at art and drawing but didn't really draw throughout high school. I've always had some natural talent so I recently decided to try my hand at it again. I hate to say it but I lost so much skill, but thanks to your videos and stories I'm able to keep motivated to try and improve so thank you so much. I've heard you say in some of your videos that your UK viewers have trouble finding your books. I recently ordered a copy of Brody's Ghost book 1 from my local WHSmiths store (a store that can be found through out the UK or at least in England and Wales), I just thought id let you know that there's a place you can tell your UK viewers that they can buy your books. Looking forward to the read, wishing you the best: a huge fan :D
Hey Mark, today we watched your tutorial on drawing realistic eyes in my drawing class. Just wanted to tell you that you are helping kids learn
+Jaikthesnake Tell your teacher I said Hi :)
+markcrilley i want your books but i live in Brussels and i can't find them anywhere DX. Where can i find them?
thats so awesome, you kids today are so lucky to be able to follow tutorials like Marks and others.they are way better teachers than the old highschool teachers we had in my day! i took art at school and faild to take turn in one piece of work,as the teacher was only interseted in perving on these two girls. im now 48 and started drawing for my boy,now people tell me i should be selling my drawings.....that teacher failed 99% of us as kids. +Chris Treanor Thanks, dude I hope you keep drawing, too
I was like ''No, no man, do not leave that shadow like that flowing over the brick and fall over like some kind of liquid''...
Crilley!
I love the mood and atmosphere of this drawing. Looks great.
I really am happy you put videos out here, I've gotten so much better watching your videos and learning a few techniques from you here and there.I recommended a friend to you and now he's began drawing too!!
+Nico Martin Thank you :)

+theburntviking Glad I could help :)
I love these perspective vids ! I learn so much from these. And the technique of scanning your pencils is really awesome and something I'm going to try. Thnx Mark !
i had a very hard time to get this right, this helped me so much Mark :D
+xNekoNekoo It really did !
Thank you Marc! :) that helped me so much to understand 3-Point Perspective and I can finally develop my concept arts with this method! Thank you :)
Omg when i watch the time lapse version i though about the perspective you were using, and the only way having such one, was to extend the perspective point. I was so surprised when i saw that huge paper^^D . Nice job as always mark Crilley.

The carvings are amazing. Even if i tried, i wouldn't be able to make my scribble look like carvings.
Wow, this is really amazing. I really want to try this!!!!
great tutorial, thank you *markcrilley*

Hey Mark i am a tattoo artist and your videos are awesome, i would love if you do a video explaining the perspective for figures.
It’s brilliant!!!
Your stuff is always so neat and has the cleanest lines. Do you ever loosen up and draw goofy stuff?
+Lisa Ennis This video shows some of my looser work: ruclips.net/video/jxXhi48zNCg/видео.html
Love the videos , I learn a lot from them. One question..how do you actually place the perspective points before even starting to draw . 1 point perspective is easy to place but when u go up to 2 point or 3 point perspective I don't really know where to place the perspective points.

+I fucked up Here's my video on that subject: "How to Add Shadows to a Drawing (& Where to Place Them)" ruclips.net/video/-dslyiHqeL0/видео.html
How do u draw like live animals or sophisticated objects with curves and straight lines in perspective tho
when you right and draw your manga how long should it take to write the script, stories bored, and the final draft for the finished product?
Do you digital ink your current works? and if so, would using a program like Lazy Nezumi Pro be worthy of a choice to using for a ruler oncommand digital tool?

I want to draw a picture of the Lagrange point between Europa & IO. Should I use 3 pt perspective?
Are there any tricks to do this without having an actual point waay outside of the panel? I know you can do this with 2-point perspective but is there a way to do it with 3-point?
Yes learn plane projection perspective
death24314 Thanks!

useful tips Mark thank alot !
why arent the east and west points in the horizon line (eye level)?
hey I started a new project for my art class but I'd really don't know how to draw those shiny cloths or glossy cloths so maybe you could do a video on that. Thanks

+Lonel650 I guess so. It is definitely hard for me to figure out :)
hey! how do you know where exactly tge points should be?
Is it possible to do a drawing like this on a 11 by 8.5 sketch paper?

Mark, you are an art guru........
Would be interesting to see how to draw complex basic structures like cylinders or archs in 2 point or 3 point perspective
How to decide whether a scene I'm drawing irl is what type of perspective?
