  • After 8 years of daily abuse, it is time to service our washingmachine. Have just replaced shockabsorbers, but more fix is needed:
    * The leaking in bottom is my fault, I mounted it faulty. Fixed now.
    * Springs seems to be worn. But are they really? Does it exists any measures to check wether they are within spec? Or is it just to buy new ones and hope new are better? The machine was intenionally filled up to a bit more than max (approx 8-9KG, capacity is 7), and with some heavy towels combined with alot of small clothes, so it was mowing more than in an average wash.
    * Waterpump is occasionally making noises. I belive "bearing" and / or axle is worn. But is this possible to fix with new parts? The pump seems to be easy to split.
The water pump is branded like this:
    Plaset - Italy
    COD - 70468
    220-240AC 50Hz
    30W-CLF 12-2004

The washer is designed to stop and try to balance the load if detected - it will rotate the other direction - LG has a video on this.

On this model that function is definitely not working 😁
I don't know how many times I've needed to put this machine back to its place after a wash. And yes, it has been perfectly balanced, and I'm quite picky about not overfilling the machine. It's just fascinating sloppy machines.

uhm, it seems ok to me. My brand new AEG seems to do the same - and in fact it is very sensitive to unbalanced loads, it really struggles to do the spin. I feel that because newer machines have the load balance sensor (a tachometer on the motor shaft) they have relaxed the shock absorbers to make the machine quieter - but then spinning can be a problem.

Tony359; I belive Youre absolutely right :) I did replace the springs, but it made absolutely no difference. Seems like it's built to be sloppy. Anyway, machine is still running fine now in 2017, 11 years after we bought it :-)

Thanks for the update. Well, then probably replacing the shock absorbers was a good thing (did you replace them or the springs on top?) It could also be that the spider has gone. Is it perfectly balanced if you run an empty spin?

I did replace both the schock absorbers and the 3 springs on this machine. It has always runned fine with just a few clothes or empty, and it still does. Now I have got a used identical machine for free (people are strange, trowing a fully working machine that just needed a good clean in the soap dispenser....) and this also is quite sloppy, almost hitting the outer metal sides if I run it fully loaded. Spider/bearing seems fine, no noiticeable slack there. A friend that works with repairing both LG and som other brands household machines has convinced me that some brands, like the LG's, is supposed to be "sloppy", while other brands is (far) more thight. In 2015 I bought a LG F1695RDH (12/8KG wash/dry) as an machine #2, and this also was pretty "sloppy" from new. The 1695-machine I had quite some trouble with: Door did not seal, it turned itself OFF, did not dry clothes completely, and more. It died completely when some "particles" (stones, screws, buttons, I don't know) went in between the outer and inner tub when it runned at max, 1600RPM :-D The rubber boot in front turned into a million of small pieces, even my smoke alarm system went off! I got my money back for that machine...
So. I stick to these 2 old 14120's as long as they run, and just close my ears/mind for the sloppy suspension. :)

happy days, new suspensions were probably due anyway after 10 years.

tony359 AEG machines are no longer made very well. LG machines would spin the load that the AEG would refuse to spin. Electrolux really messed up the latest AEG range. Nothing like the AEG's from the 90s or early 2000s.

Mine is doing exactly the same and have changed the drum and motor and bearings and still like this on high speed?!

Seems they are built this way. Now in 2019 I got a brand "Grundig", who has pretty much same spec (direct drive, 7kgs),and it's alot firmer, and less noise. Just hopes it will last as long as the LG, who still is alive, gave it to a friend of mine... 😁 👍

Bent Are Fikse but mine was not like this when new only started doing it, mines a 9kg and only does it at 1200 rpm or above and bangs on the side walls

    • @fiksefant
      @fiksefant  4 года назад +1

@@utubeuser8878 Ohh. Then I dont have an advise for you, sorry. Yeah, Im quite sure my 7KG did not bang the walls when new, but I cannot find any logic solution what makes this. My motor/bearings was/is just fine, for what I can see, and all springs and dampers where replaced. Still the same, very close to hit the side walls. On the good side; it still runs fine, its just the seconds while it accellerates it's (close to) hitting the wall... Pretty clueless, I must admit.
