After hours of trawling the internet, this is the only video i have found which shows the sound bad shocks make, and which is EXACTLY what mine are making! Thank you for this, much more confident in what the issue is & only £15 for 2 new shocks!
@green-crocs-fixes1520 A few years ago I wouldn't have dreamt of doing it, but recently I stripped down & repaired a Bosch Series 8 Heat Pump dryer & got it working like new so it's given me confidence to give this a go. I've ordered the parts, will let you know how it goes 😀
Thanks. This is probably the best video showing what a faulty set of shock absorbers / dampers look like under load. I am now going to order new ones as I am too lazy to grease and all that ! Thanks a lot
@green-crocs-fixes1520 You're right 👍. I actually did take them out straight after leaving me comment and greased them. Of them is truly gone. I have ordered new replacement parts, they're in the post. I really do appreciate your video.
Outstanding explanation and demonstration. Thank you for sharing. I have exactly the same issue with an indesit washing machine as was about to buy new shocks but will do this first and see if it fixes it. If not, I will buy new shocks.
Outstanding help and advice, which worked. Followed this video for a squeaky Indesit washing machine, only when a load was in the machine and it solve the issue. Thank you so much
Thank you thank you so much spent all day on RUclips looking for an answer this is the exact model & colour & problem & noise im going to give it a go again thank you 🙏
Thank you for a reply too 👍🙏 I took it apart exactly how you said cleaned it with some wd40 & a tooth brush wiped it put it back together with some red grease it’s all i had it took just over an hour put a big load in on a 45 min 1200 spin wash its just emptying & spinning now “silent” I’ve had that problem that sounded like a machine gun for 6months took it apart twice & with your help in under an hour it’s like the day I brought it again I can’t thank you enough 👍👍(every other vid on you tube was saying spider or bearings)🙏 saved me £300+ replacement 🙏.. & just on a tangent I noticed the accent im originally from B32 (don’t know how close that is to you ) if i still lived there I would come shake your hand & buy you a drink thank you so much 🙏🙏🫡

Spot on.The-absolute best video and excellently communicated .Thankyou.mine has three dampers ,one seem tricky but I’m going to give it a go when I’ve got the grease.Thankyou.
2 year old Indesit main bearing had gone, I replaced the drum and now the drum knocks like a mad thing. I have now just replaced the shock absorbers to no avail, it still knocks like mad. I will have to try running the machine with covers off to see if I can identify any issues. Oh ma heid!!🤕
Sorry to say, I may have the same issue as Mike. Just replaced the spider arm on my GE. Basket is tight to the drum. It always vibrated to a scary degree but now it's also making a knocking noise on spin as if out of balance. However, I will try your method and cross my fingers. Thanks so much.
I don't have this type of machine, I actually have a Whirlpool Duet model, but I just wanted to state that you done a very good video and I am quite sure it will help others.
really? we are all desperate with lg aidd what is making the same noise so bad i changed the new shock absorbers but nothing changed i spry some grease on them and nothing changed may be i had to try to put grease like this... very nice work
@ it doesn’t but i saw another russian video where they say that the problem is the shock it self tooo stiffy and gard to push and they replaced with 80N instead of the 100N original, when i changed them i though to put more hard lile 120n but i was wrong at this point

Tough one Mike,
sounds like the newly replaced Drum is out of balance though I don't know any method to resolve 😞.
Maybe something loose and you haven’t done it up properly
Sure them holes in the dampers are so can grease them without taking off. Good vid mate
Thanks Wilfy,
you are most probably right 😜

Can I repair the shock or replace them?
Probably best to replace as sometimes they are too far gone Eugene 😎
What type of grease is needed?
Hi Mark,
I used standard Multipurpose EP2 Lithium Grease 😀
really? we are all desperate with lg aidd what is making the same noise so bad i changed the new shock absorbers but nothing changed i spry some grease on them and nothing changed may be i had to try to put grease like this... very nice work
Thanks Cal,
Replacing the Shocks is usually the best fix but hope it works 😁
