@MrClassiccarenthusia That's not true. The 1998 build was a series of what amounted to real-time tech demos and proofs of concept that were edited for the trailer. There was gameplay, in the same sense that the Doom 3 Alpha leak has gameplay. It all in engine, and playable. It just was very scripted for the trialer and for a few closed door demonstrations done at various game trade shows like E3.
I also never played DNF, despite obsessively following the development for the better part of a decade, as I slowly mutated from an eager teenager into a cynical adult. By the time it came out, I could just sense that the end product wasn’t worth it. I couldn’t bare to look at what it had become. But this, this I want to play. 🥲
I personally think not much, since some or even most of the maps were basically unfinished in the leak. Some of these mods just refine the most completed ones and restore the half-baked ones by adding what was presumably missing, or even create new stuff completely.
The Restoration Project v0.2.1 has first chapter with nine levels…i think 1/4 of the whole game is finished and playable BUT…the point is some textures, sounds and whole maps are still yet to come..modders and fans come together spending their free time, no budget…big respect to many🙏
@@livinglie5598 Generally, yes, the 01 leak at least alludes to the beginning, middle and end. It's easy to infer most of the missing pieces. That being said, I do not trust modders to do it authentically. There was a lot of woke garbage being shoveled into the Restoration Project early on.

I cant get these new levels to show up in the normal game mode like the readme says. I can only play them in multiplayer CoOp mode. When I run the game, and change resolutions, it asks if I want to keep that setting, but I can't click Ok. Or Cancel. I can't click anything. Ever again.
