I have a suspicion that what you're seeing there is that it has to double the offset of the note, too, and not just the length. The logical preset seems to be taking the time from the MIDI clip start rather than the selection start, so if you double something at bar 2, it will end up at bar 4.
I guess is not a bug but setting needs to be adjusted. I've noticed that stretching notes when you on bar 2, stretching the start as well to bar 4 and vise versa, compressing notes when you on bar 2 compressing the start to bar 1 which means that the start bar stretched/compressed according to the action on notes. May be :)
I do not see Logical Presets in my midi menu, I have to click through midi->logical editor->presets-> then I see the menu. How do you add the logical presets to the main menu? Cubase 12.5 Pro. Thanks in advance, wonderful video!!!!
Thanks for the video. It's a shame there isn't a preset for moving a set of 16th notes to triplets. (I need my hi-hat beat changed to triplets from 16ths. I can do it manually, but it'll take much longer.)
Is it possible to stretch inside the key editor with the note selection timestretch tool? You can select it but nothing happends. It only makes the selected notes longer or shorter.
Unfortunately they don’t have this function like in other DAWs. You can only use the two methods as far as I know. The selection time stretch tool only applies to full midi event clips.
@@XanderGallois i'm with you.. The results we are after are schaling at will even outside any cuantization and you simply can not.. snd will not get to a desired degree of composing because Cubase can't (jet) nearly all Jazz, Classical music as well as lots of other Styles are much better of without cuantization and bein able to scale like in Time Handles in Logic is a must and any expert and Guru would classify as a Top feature.. have wrote to Steinberg. I know the are able to implement this.. Thanks
Yes.. but one of the most important still missing and this is to be able to Time Stretch groups of Notes.. and this Freely without Constrains or limits. You had to move through 4 Windows to get to double length. This can be done in Logic in only one Step. Its called "Time Handles" and allows freestyle scaling and moving. Other than that Cubase pretty much has 99 % of everything better than Logic. As i view it (its just annoying for me because use Time Stretch a lot. Thanks!!
Interesting insight. I don’t use Logic. Have been tempted a lot. Am on a PC ATM. Might move to a Mac Pro if there is some more M chip awesomeness coming out. Thanks for the info!
I spend about 3 hours googling to find how do this! Thank you!
Glad it helped you!
You're a saint. Thank you brother
omg i watched 20 mms of tutorials and you explained it in under 2 minutes!! God Job

Thanks. This will save me A LOT of time - dipping my feet into more orchestral music which can get complex.

Thanx for the reply.
I think its pretty stupid of Steinberg not to implement this. This should be standard inside a keyeditor
