- From APTBS monster debut LP on Killer Pimp, here's the official video for "I Know I'll See You."
The video was shot via webcam by Director Adam Grabarnick (adamgrabarnick.com) from his home in Los Angeles while the band were in their RV on a rainy Sunday afternoon in Ohio during their recent tour.
The band was was parked at a Denny's in Delaware, Ohio prior to their show at Oberlin College on November 11 while the shoot took place. This innovative video is surely the first trans-continental video shot in an RV on a webcam.
True to form, APTBS had problems with power outages again. However, this time they used so much power shooting and monitoring the video that they killed the battery on the RV. They wound up having to scramble to find jumper cables and a friendly Ohioan with a monster truck in order to make the show at Oberlin. - Видеоклипы
This song has a pretty cool bassline. The bass in this song is so reminiscent of The Cure's 80s era.
Sounds very much like Baby Screams
I've started hearing A Place to Bury Strangers on the radio and I thought to myself "Hey, this sounds like Skywave" a google search later I figured out why. Like the album.
I just couldn't wait to see you again
No, I never, ever turn off on friends
Well, I thought I heard you say and I know I feel the rain
But I can't give up looks until it's away
Now I just can't take the way to live my life
Holding dear to the last breath in my lungs
I'll see you again, see you again
Don't take my hand 'cause I'll take it away
And I take everything just to take it away
Well, if you can't give me promise and you can't give me time
And as easy as you give, I can take it away
Now I know the things I say, don't hold up in the rain
Every touch was a kiss straight from my heart
Then you take it away, take it away, away, I take it away
I just couldn't wait to see you again
No, I never ever turned off on friends
Well, I thought I heard you say and I know I feel the rain
But I can't give up looks until it's away
Don't take my hand 'cause I'll take it away
And I take everything just take it away
I can't feel my head as it slips away
My hands touch the ground but I'm not safe
I just couldn't wait to see you again
I just couldn't wait to see you again, see you again
GREAT, Just GREAT!!!
Open house 😍 i love this song ,and great movie!
Watched open house last night can't get enough of this song! Love these guys!
Brian Geraghty's theme song from Open House! He was so fantastic in the movie Flight with Denzel Washington as the co-pilot Ken Evans! He was good in Open House too! Love Brian/Ken Evans!
Its always snowing somewhere brought me here !!!
Great song. I hear mixtures of some great post-punk influences all through this tune. Adding to my playlist, thanks for posting this.
his voice ♥
Thank you :)
Reminds me of Bauhaus. Very cool sound. Thanks for posting
Amazing!
I saw them this summer at pukkelpop , they are completely awesome live, wall of sound. yes, the day before APTBS i saw MBV live, the most sonic sound experience ever . WALL OF NOISE DOES EXIST. this song is really beautiful.
Amazing.
Fantastic video, come to California!
yeah!!! ossom! we'll have this wonderful band next monday! like a dream made reality
they kick ass!
HIGH QUALITY VIDEO !!
I fuckin' love it. Great Shoegaze/Post-Punk/Noise rock combination.
The cure can't hold a candle to this band.
Great show, the makers of Advil thank you.
awesome
stuck in my head
Love this band too!
bass and drum machine sounds reminds New Orded
OPEN HOUSE with Tricia great song !!!
Welcome back Shoegazer ! helll yeah !
Similies are nice. I'm sure they wouldn't deny the comparisons. But I really love this band, I think they have their own sound, similiar to many, but different enough to be brilliant.
wooow i love it!!
since i've watched it's always snowing somewhere, im just lovin it ;)
I don't care who they sound like. they're just great. they sound like A Place To Bury Strangers and that's it.
just genial...
If you realised, your discription of APTBS would fit NIN pretty well too!!!
I love this song
you sir are correct! ;}
I don't know if I could sense the Depeche in this...It does have the dark, haunting vibe Joy Division withholds.
This band has sooo much potential, though. They can only get better!
Yesterday I was listening Depeche Mode and today you, I think is a good compliment!
This song is awsome just like the band.
i looooveeee it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
eternal favourite
Master thieves I say!
So many great influences in this band, even way back to the big bang of it all: The Velvets!
amazing console sounds un place para nu bury strange saludos desde colombia
defintely a must see realllllllllllly stoned. i was flipping out.
i feel TOTALLY let down that I didn't hear of this band sooner....
Cool...love the sounds..... they listened to a lot of early 80s The Cure....hmmmm and some Bauhaus....
Indie as Fuck!
hope theyll be bigger
20 Οκτωβρίου στο FUZZ και τρελαίνομαι!!!
I almost smelt a bit of early Swans in their too. nice.
FUCK YEAH FUCK YEAH MORE PLEASE.
(one of) the best shoegaze/psychedelic bands at this time.
"It's always snowing somewhere" is where I first heard this
Some guy you're not familiar with just yet aaaaaaa memoriesss
it definitely has that sound, a lot in the beginning... i never noticed that.
nice observation. why so many thumbs down?
Yeah, I see what you mean :)
All in all, APTBS is just great stuff. Who ever their influences are, they've managed to compile them together with a little zest of their own shit. This band gives me faith that newer music isn't totally going to shit..
And somewhere in Vegas 12/1 - left coasters don't miss out!
These distorted patterns between 0:25 and 0:28 really remind me of JD's" Unknown pleasures" CD cover....
Great song! rmber me a forest of the cure
The 9th Annual Siren Music Festival
July 18 2009 Noon to 9pm
at Coney Island, NYC
I wish more bands were inspired by that album
Heard this on the film "Open House" i loved the tune, but not so much the film it was gruesome. Great tune
One day A Place To Bury Strangers will bring the whole matrix down, and we will all live naturally again ............................. without a (proper) place to bury strangers ... :(
Fuuuuuck. This is such a great song. I love APTBS!
You can not only have 10 of their songs but help the band record their next album when you buy their 1 album!
Fucking love this song.
saw them at the same show right infront of ollies amp, couldnt hear straight for a week
crank it up !!!!
Someone probably stated it already, but the bass line sounds exactly like JAMC's "In A Hole."
But APTBS did a great job with it.
CLASSICOLLECTION
Lol, Yeah, the bass line reminds me of a Cure song, although, I can't remember what it's called. This is some of the best stuff I've heard in a while.
This shit hits! How could u not rip to this LOV'N IT!
I've walked out of a gig before, but I went because it was a) 10 minutes walk from my place and b) my mates had a spare ticket.
I wouldn't drive a 10 hour round trip to see a band without checking them out first.
Favorite band that primarily uses drum machines for effect (tr 909)
Sooo fuckin epic its so simple but also brillant
Listen The Vandelles, they kick ass too
their best song and best vid. wish it wasn't the case.
I've seen this guys live yesterday and they're fucking crazy I really like them and the singer is so cool
simplementee wow :D
I agree, it's the same style, just different.
Don't know wtf he's saying but this shit still sounds dope!!
Oh, of course. I didn't say anything about Depeche Mode being an influence.
Both JD and JAMC have been used as examples. Never one without the other and I agree with the comparisons. They have that dark wave feeling that JD had, if you listen. Very sharp beats.
There is no doubt that JAMC is probably their biggest influence. I'm not THAT musically inept, heh.
this song was on the movie open house
wow.. this makes me think of smart people. i've been in the same place to bury state 4 2 long
I totally agree. This is almost exactly like JAMC's "In a Hole"...
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ !!!!
Actually sounds a lot like The Cure's non-poppy stuff. I like this a lot.
Just saw these blokes on 13 June at the Westword Music Fest, and I must say that they are a reminder of Joy Division. They have their own sound; I can clearly see them going somewhere.
The Jesus and Mary Chain - In A Hole
Wow! Uncanny.
Alfarabi B. You are right. This is clearly a rip off.
nah, more like New Order - Blue Monday
and everyone has influences
Don't take my hand, cause I take it away
And I take everything just take it away
I can't feel my head as it slips away
My hands touch the ground, but I'm not safe
I just couldn't wait to see you again
I just couldn't wait to see you again
See you again!
beautifully done song. ackmann just is one of those amazing guitarist that find that perfect sound for their music. What genre is this considered?
@siliva1 See: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Maybe a little pop-oriented, but the twee definitely works well with the shoegaze wall-of-sound. To be convinced in one song, see 'Young Adult Friction'.
not really my kind of music but they have a cool, original sound. i have to give them that!
these guys are so in debt to my bloody valentine its not even funny
@vitorsergio
Dat bass dude. Dat bass.
woah VIA Chipset at 0:10
Its like blue Monday but drowned in reverb with guitars
Open house : horror film brought me here
buin- I dig your list of influences... but I don't agree with the negative tilt you gave them... Every band is a new version of something old. I am just glad these guys are keeping shoegaze going for the next generation...
