The gloss finish is amazing! However, because of how the garage looks with the wood and stone, the matte finish actually blends in better without taking away from the rest of the garage. Great job!
I've been doing epoxy floors for almost 30 years, the problem with smooth high gloss finishes is they tend to scratch more easily, especially in higher traffic areas that will be exposed to dirt and debris, that's why a good urethane top coat will extend the life of the floor. A high gloss urethane top coat is usually a big improvement, but it will also eventually show scratches. If you want the highest scratch resistance and durability then a matte finish urethane is the way to go. It can extend the life of your floor by years.
Nah gloss looks really good until it doesn't. Every tire line turns gloss into a matte finish. A wise man would start out with a matte finish if it's going to end up a matte finish.
Gloss has more depth and looks better , maintenance wise probably more costly. Matte finish I feel will dull faster with scratching and need to be re coated anyway. Idk . Depends on how the garage will be used also. For Show cars or will it be used like a normal heavy use , salt from winter, in and out daily kinda thing.
@@midtown3221I assume because tiny scratches and dents won't ruin the look of a matte coating as easily as a glossy one meaning you don't have to be as careful around it. Also, dust is easier to see on gloss finishes.
I think both looks freaking awesome! I myself would probably like the shiny look but, seeing the matte look go against the wood and stones, the matte looks to be the perfect match for that project. Excellent job as usual.
You guys are true artists. The way the color blending was done was absolutely beautiful - some of the best epoxy effects I’ve seen on RUclips. Congratulations on your exceptional skill and technique!!!
For the vibe and aesthetic that guy was going for with his house the matte is sweet. The glossy gives it more of a modern vibe. The log cabin rustic looks good with the matte 💪🏻
As someone who has a very similar floor (but with blues, pearls silvers and blacks), glossy is harder to maintain. Tire scrub wears the gloss to a satin over time, requiring buffing to offset.
The matte looks more natural,....but that gloss is the most beautiful floor I've ever seen in any garage. Just incredible work guys. I can't imagine seeing that gloss version and saying,..."Ehhh,....let's go with a matte finish" without knowing how it will look or even compare to the gloss. Either way???? Mad respect.
I have a huge Porte Cochere connected to the front of my house I’m going to find a contractor to do this for me. I hope I can find someone as great at it as you Are!!! Thank you for sharing all of your Amazing work!!!
I loved the gloss look but did notice that with the matte finish, there was less glare and reflection of the lights on the floor. I have concrete floor in our downstairs room and was wanting to do that exact same thing with 3 colors! Had not thought of the metallic colors tho. Hmm...decisions, decisions
RE: Finish. imho, it depends on the purpose of the space. If I was really going to use that garage to store my toys, motorcycles, bicycles, surf boards, etc, then I would go with the matte. If I was just storing a luxury car(s), or something that doesn't really get used, then I would go with the gloss. I do think the matte compliments the stone better, but of course, the gloss is super luxurious. Both looked amazing! Great job.
If I had to “Work” in the garage any extended length of time, the Matte finish is what I would way prefer. Matte doesn’t let the Light bounce around the room and made it difficult on your eyes over time. With Gloss, there is too much going on at the same time. Reflections bouncing all around. The Matte is easier on the senses and I think work relaxing to work in. Both are really beautiful ✨ I appreciate all the work ❤️
Absolutely love the metallic bronze/brownish color!! So done with grey and silver! This added some custom warmth and life to the floor!! Great job! God bless!😊
Thanks! I’m not sure which I like better either. I was surprised at how the matte completely changed the look of the whole project. I don’t remember exactly what we charged… but it’s usually in the $10-$12ft range.
Both unbelievable finishes. Great job but for that house the colours and finish has been well thought out. Gloss with modern rooms Matte with the heritage theme.
Wow! This is something that I have wanted done in my garage/man cave for a long time and to see professionals make it look so easy with an outstanding finished product… I’m in Kansas really curious to how much this would cost for a two car garage… I’am ready…
The Satin compliments the rest of the garage. The shiny could be irritating if any marks are on it. Shiny I feel like is more for restroom, closets, ect.
The matte finish matches the stone veneer on the walls also I forget what it’s called but there is this stuff you can spray on the floor to bring it back into the redcoat window they use it in painting cars instead of sanding the next
👍🏻👍🏻 That’s cool… I don’t mind sanding it because it gets a lot of the imperfections in the texture of the floor out. It would be nice to not have to do it though.
I love the gloss. These guys are total pros. We just epoxies our garages with topped with sprinkles. Wonder what the cost difference would have been? So creative and beautiful!!
Personally, I like the high gloss finish better. I tend to like vivid colors 👍 But I really like the color combination in both the gloss and Matt finish. Again for me the gloss is the winner. Of course pleasing customers is priority number one ☝️ Awesome video!
the matte finish is honestly the best look for that specific application/house. that was beautiful... in all honesty - both of those applications were just stunning... but went with matte something about that and the wood - just work together naturally.
Job looks outstanding!! I can totally see why they wanted Matte because of the natural stone on the wall matches the look better. Glossy also has a place and looks great too!! Amazing job to you and the team. Do you have any friends in North Carolina Triangle Area that can do amazing work like you guys by chance??
Thank you! We work down that way on some projects. Fill out this form and I can let you know if we might be a good fit. www.decorativeconcreteofvirginia.com/contact-us
hi, Tim...awesome job...i like both, the matt finish looks more unified with the stone deco wall, but i also like the gloss finish because it gives a height illusion to the garage, it just looks better, the garage must have been 2/3rds bigger for the cars to be reflected on the gloss epoxy...the lighting is also enhanced due to reflectivity on the gloss finish...but cars being there, if the cars or people come in from a rainy day that garage floor is going to be a slip and fall hazard, that gives the matt finish a better practicality, they score the same points, you can always put non slip carpets on both the gloss and matt...i think it is a stunning job you guys have done here...
Definitely like the high gloss better, but to each is own. Did the client love the matte urethane finish ? That house looks sweet also, right on the water, should of got some drone shots 😉 great floor, awesome video as always guys..
Thanks Nathan! Client loved the matte. The house is great. Lots of custom finishes.. nicest property on Smith Mountain Lake that we’ve worked on. I don’t have a drone anymore. One too many crashes. 😬
There’s a place for each and this was definitely a place for matte. Gloss is for flashy pimpadelic Quagmire places with wet bars, ceiling mirrors, and rotating waterbeds.
I like the gloss a tiny bit more since it has such a clean feel. But if left glossy how slick does this stuff get if you were to park your car after the rain and get out on a wet surface?
Great video! I’ve watched a few of them now and you guys do nice work. Excellent way to communicate information to clients; so, we’ll done! Personally, I almost always prefer a lower gloss. It hides a lot, requires less maintenance, and appears more natural than an obvious high build of resin.
bro thats a piece of art... iam trying to do the same in my reception or living room in cairo,Egypt but afraid of ruining or fu**** it upcoz no.1 is known or done that before as far as i know
I like the gloss better your work is amazing I've been trying for a couple of years to learn how to do that I will most definitely continue to watch your tutorials God bless U-Both for the hard work you put in
I’ve never been big on high gloss but on this one I would have stuck with the gloss or only gone to a Satin and not a matte. The gloss definitely looks better!
I like the matte finish with this particular project. Question tho: Could you keep the gloss finish for an extended amount of time~ 2yrs+ and then come back and put a matte finish over it to get a new fresh look but more importantly, also conceal and blemishes??
It’s all personal preference, but personally, I think he made a good choice with his stone and his style of what he prefers. I think they both have a beautiful look to them, depending on what you were trying to accomplish with your surroundings.
Getting ready to do a red, white and blue garage floor ij my house, will be my second floor I have done in my house. Really nervous about the finish and how I blend the colors. I was nervous when I did my utility bathroom floor but it turned out great except for a few bubbles that I missed. Epoxy floors are awesome !
quick question, how do you prevent roller fibers from sticking to the final epoxy product? ive tried this and little bits of hair get into the epoxy which is visible after it cures
They both look great but i definitly like the shine better. What kind of shoes is that you where as too not leave tracks on the floor while you're spreading that out
The gloss finish is amazing! However, because of how the garage looks with the wood and stone, the matte finish actually blends in better without taking away from the rest of the garage. Great job!
Exactly
My thoughts exactly
Yea too blended, it’s boring
Blends in to good. I rather have it not blend
I've been doing epoxy floors for almost 30 years, the problem with smooth high gloss finishes is they tend to scratch more easily, especially in higher traffic areas that will be exposed to dirt and debris, that's why a good urethane top coat will extend the life of the floor. If you want the highest scratch resistance and durability then a matte finish urethane is the way to go. It can extend the life of your floor by years.
If you did it yourself, what's the normal cost for 900 sqft on a fresh pad?
Glossy gave it a more luxurious feel and a modern touch with the current design of that space. GLOSSY WINS 🏆 Hands down.
Thanks! 🙌🏼
Nah gloss looks really good until it doesn't. Every tire line turns gloss into a matte finish. A wise man would start out with a matte finish if it's going to end up a matte finish.
It takes a LOT of work and preparation and cost to maintain any semblance of high Gloss in that environment
Deleted my comment after reading yours. Pretty mush said the same thing ❤
The matte finish would be easier to maintain but the glossy finish was awesome. It looked like one single piece of marble slab!
Why would the matte finish be easier to maintain?
@@midtown3221I assume because tiny scratches and dents won't ruin the look of a matte coating as easily as a glossy one meaning you don't have to be as careful around it. Also, dust is easier to see on gloss finishes.
Over time the matte finish will conceal scratches, dings etc. but the gloss sure has an initial wow to it. Nice work guys
I think both looks freaking awesome! I myself would probably like the shiny look but, seeing the matte look go against the wood and stones, the matte looks to be the perfect match for that project.
Excellent job as usual.
Thank you!
I agree with you. I typically prefer the shiny… but the matte does fit with this room better.
100% agree
To each their own, but that gloss is crazy cool👍 Great job as always!
Thank you! 🙌🏼

Both looked great, but gloss just had this amazing luxury look to it. Surprisingly, the Matt finish worked better with the room.
Yes….the space looks industrial-farmhouse….NOT luxe or contemporary, so the matte finish appears to be more fitting for the style of the space.
@@MonacoVirago I agree to both of you
The matte matches the stone better, and the glossy finish pulls in the doors and trims better. Overall they both look great.
The shiny finish is absolutely beautiful! Wow a amazing job!
Shiny

Glossy for sure inside a home! For the garage, I guess matte doesn't look too shabby. Incredible on both sides, thanks for sharing!
I like the none shine. It has a unique look that goes with the walls and ceiling
RE: Finish. imho, it depends on the purpose of the space. If I was really going to use that garage to store my toys, motorcycles, bicycles, surf boards, etc, then I would go with the matte. That matt finish goes great with the stone walls. While the gloss looks great it was out of place.. Great call by the home owner!
If I had to “Work” in the garage any extended length of time, the Matte finish is what I would way prefer. I'd prefer the glossy look. Just my opinion. Great work! 👍
Both are beautiful, the shiny one looked very luxury and the matt one more Natural earthy❤❤
both look great but for the garage, in my opinion I'd go matte
The gloss was way better to me. Really gave it the luxurious look and brightened up the room with the extra light reflection.
I prefer the gloss, but I also understand the satin in a shop (glare). Beautiful job!
Absolutely love the metallic bronze/brownish color!! So done with grey and silver! This added some custom warmth and life to the floor!! Great job! God bless!😊
The matte and gloss both look phenomenal in their own ways. Nicely done!! How much did this cost??
Thanks! I’m not sure which I like better either. I was surprised at how the matte completely changed the look of the whole project.
I don’t remember exactly what we charged… but it’s usually in the $10-$12ft range.
So how much does it cost??
Gloss gave the colors more depth but, one couldn’t distinguish if there were wet areas (water) with the matte finish you can.
I like the gloss look better. Good job on the non fully blended colors.
I like the first one.
It's glossy look was AWESOME.
Y'all are true Professionals at this job.
Well done.
Matte finish is awesome. Like they way it takes away the focus of the shine and blends with the surroundings.
Thanks!
I agree that it takes the focus off of the floor & blends in better. I still lean towards the gloss finish though. 👍🏻
Both unbelievable finishes. Great job but for that house the colours and finish has been well thought out. Gloss with modern rooms Matte with the heritage theme.

Wooooooowwwww❤❤❤this ist the Most beautiful epoxy floor colours i ever saw!
Wonderful transformation, gorgeous floor. I would definitely take the Gloss but the Matte is wonderful as well.
The Satin compliments the rest of the garage. The shiny could be irritating if any marks are on it. Shiny I feel like is more for restroom, closets, ect.

Awesome video!
I think I like the gloss better too. The customer was really happy with the matte finish though. 👍🏻
Thanks!
Fantastic job, guys. I might try to emulate this. I have to say, though...the glossy floor looked like polished granite. It was amazing.
They are both excellent!!!!
Both finishes are a homerun!👍
Wonderful colors. The final product (before the matte finish) looked amazing.
Both finishes hot, the matte finish matches the brick on the wall better, but the gloss was very nice as well.
Thanks! 🙌🏼
The gloss is really sick!! Looks like a work of art.
This is gorgeous, but that gloss finish was my favorite 👍🏼😊
Thank you!
the matte finish is honestly the best look for that specific application/house. that was beautiful... in all honesty - both of those applications were just stunning... but went with matte something about that and the wood - just work together naturally.
I would prefer the glossy look myself. The question is how long would it stay glossy and would you need to come back with another coat later on?
It will stay looking shiny for a long time...especially since this homeowner had a paved driveway.
I would love to have seen gloss and matt checkers pattern, like 2ft x 2ft squares.
Job looks outstanding!! I can totally see why they wanted Matte because of the natural stone on the wall matches the look better. Glossy also has a place and looks great too!! I like the depth that seems much deeper w gloss finish
Unless this is Studio54 and Travolta is about drop down like its hot … I would say matte. Great job as always. 🔥
😂 thanks!
I think I like the gloss the best but how durable is a metallic Epoxy floor and what is the lifespan of it
Gloss is classier looking.

The house is great. Lots of custom finishes.. nicest property on Smith Mountain Lake that we’ve worked on.
I don’t have a drone anymore. One too many crashes. 😬
I prefer the shiny finish. The other is not bad. Wondering if the shiny surface is more slipper when wet?
Outstanding! Glossy but it's a garage so matte makes more sense. Both look awesome!
There’s a place for each and this was definitely a place for matte. Gloss is for flashy pimpadelic Quagmire places with wet bars, ceiling mirrors, and rotating waterbeds.
Aesthetically, the gloss really pops. But for the rustic log cabin style house, the matte is more appropriate.
👍🏻👍🏻
I like the gloss a tiny bit more since it has such a clean feel. But if left glossy how slick does this stuff get if you were to park your car after the rain and get out on a wet surface?
The gloss might be a little slippery when it’s wet. The matte isn’t too bad.

Both look great for its own reasons. Homeowners were just lucky to have you pros on the job😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing! I like the mat finish better.
Gloss finish, however the matte may go better with the natural rock sides.
How do you not slip on the floor in gloss when wet or dry for that matter? I would think you would need to add texture at minimum for safety?
bro thats a piece of art... iam trying to do the same in my reception or living room in cairo,Egypt but afraid of ruining or fu**** it upcoz no.1 is known or done that before as far as i know

Wow 😲
Mind blowing work you guys are artists 🎨
I've never seen a floor like that before..
My opinion
I like it clear coat and mat finish
That looks like an amazing property. The garage had some amazing details capped off with the epoxy flooring
It really was a cool place. Thanks!

Can i do this for outdoor use and what colors did u use here. Very beautiful work!! Glossy for me!!
Love the gloss look! What all colors did you use?
Wow nice floor whats grit you use for sanding before top coat on this video i know some say 220 grit its 150grit good also or no??
First floor finish was perfect before the second coat.
Great job!
Following from Canada, always a bless seeing your videos.
The gloss hands down and looks amazing.
Matte just killed your masterpiece bro. Sometimes ppl just don't know but you are still shinin!
Great project! I really liked the glossy much more. Feels very rich, ritzy. I also like the colors before they were combined better
They both look amazing! I'm leaning more towards the glossy.
GLOSSY!! I liked it better shiny ✨ because it really made the color’s Pop, especially the Copper!!
Where do you get your products from? Including the vapor barrier
quick question, how do you prevent roller fibers from sticking to the final epoxy product? ive tried this and little bits of hair get into the epoxy which is visible after it cures
Matters not what we like... the customer has to live with it... and to each... his own. Great job!
That’s true. Thank you!
I like the gloss finish the most, but I also like the matte finish for safety. Great job! What brand of epoxy did you use?
The glossy was very nice, but I love that Matte look!
They both look great but i definitly like the shine better. What kind of shoes is that you where as too not leave tracks on the floor while you're spreading that out
Both are finishes look outstanding!
Definitely like the gloss finish, but I do agree with Taneshia L'Amour. Excellent work.
Gloss is always better because in time satin finishes develop glossy areas due to the polishing effect of maintenance and wear.
very nice job
what materials did you use and how resistent to scrtaches is it
cna i park my car on it?
sorry for the many questions
again GRATE JOB
Looks awesome with the gloss finish. How durable is it?
That looks awesome. I have a hard time making a choice I like it both ways
After filling cracks, are you grinding afterwards or using a hand grinder to smooth?
Both look good but the glossy was just like WOW!!
