Awesome! I love how it continuously revs even while at idle. Sounds exactly like my dad's 1973 Lincoln Continental. Back then, there was no 'noise pollution'!
google your questions, it's usually much more reliable than asking commenters. For cooling, there's pickup underneath the boat, placement depends on design of hull. For propulsion as in a jet config versus a prop, the inlet for the jet is inline with the exit, imagine a tube with an impeller and you've pretty-much imagined a jet pump
They idle like that because of the action of the blower pulley system, its normal at low idle, go to the drags and you'll hear the same idle surge on the blown (671 style) pro mods
Josh.. the cam doesn't make a blown motor lope like that.. It's caused by too much fuel at idle. If he adjusts the fuel a little leaner, the engine will smooth out.
that cackle! that's the one reason electric motors will NEVER replace internal combustion engines in my mind. No matter how much more efficient, or powerful they actually are.
hey cp guy, you ever build an alochol motor, doesnt need an intercooler notice the frost on the blower and hat and with 25lbs of boost 9.5:1 comp and a whole lot of head work the #,s are pretty accurate, this same motor same heads blower cam everything dynoed at over 1200. As for the droop the boat didnt seem to like it it has a placediverter staight snoot on it now, the drop for some reason slowed it down as for the belt 3413 guy is right on the money
First and foremost, boat engines are different because they are under a constant high load. That is why hi-perf boat engines needs to be way overbuilt compared to car engines. This is also why boat engines make less power and have short rebuild times. Cam choices are often limited too, if the exhaust is wet, due to water reversion problems with an agressive LSA. The engine uses a belt driven water pump that sucks water into the engine, via the drive or a hull mounted pickup on the transom.
They say when you pass 600hp it has a different sound- that is true. When you pass 950- it has a whole different sound - especially when you are using zoomies and blower surge 🤘🤘🤘 sounds fuckin awesome in earbuds!!
@72Roushboy yea, i got the two names confused, jet boat performance was our first mech. and he messed our boat up, now these guys are, and ever since we've taken it there its been alot better...
@beiser034 - Can't wait to see the K when you get it finished. My Buddy (Hullshot on PB) just bought a Beiser about a month ago to build a K. I think the boat was called Revenge. Looking forward to seeing that one hit the water as well.
i bet that pump just loves running out of the water ... great way to burn up the wear ring .. hope it wasnt hook up to the engine..... boat looks really good tho
So help me understand, is that one of those greenhouse conscious boats, powered by batteries and an electric motor? For some reason, I'd thought it'd smaller and quieter. Hey, f'n sweet boat!
Try more like 40k. I have a law Larson built blown 572 in my '72 Howard vdrive. Dual dominators on race gas not alky. Ran me $38k makes 1060@6psi 1755@28psi. Horsepower isn't cheap
I've been building and running big blocks since 1973 and attribute my start to my 1969 Chevelle SS. Would love to see the build sheet and the Dyno run on this motor. That beast is hunting hard with that bird catcher. Just from experience, I would max that motor out at around 540 to 580 horsepower maximum at 12 % overdriven on alcohol. Gas would be much less. There is no 1200 horsepower in this video dude.
Where going to sell the jet boat complete either with a single carb big block or complete boat less motor its going in a brand new hull with a V-drive, if you click on Drakes other videos theres a video of it in Parker, still not quit dialed in yet, still messing with loaders and shoe adjustment
I guess this is like an ego boat. Me and my friends put a 250/6 blade prop on the back of his aluminum boat and were messing around with some jet boats in Canyon Lake here in Texas and we were killin' em. At least up to 80 knots.
Is there a certain limit to how much a jet pump can handle ??? I mean, after a certain point don't you pretty much have to go to a prop ?? I'm asking cause I really don't know much about it, not trying to be a smartass here.
iv always heard its bad on the jet pump to rev the enging out of watter...? somthing about the shaft devfecting and eating the wear ring?? anyone else ever head of such??
Not suprising... 95% of the time a prop driven boat is going to be faster out of the hole and faster to get on plane than a jet boat. It's the top end where the jet will usually prevail. That's why most drag boats with the big engines like this are V-drive... the prop is faster off the bottom end every time.
@RogerThat1986 Not on Rdp Im mostly on pb, the K has been coming along Im hull shoping been tide up with the other race boat right now, got one more race at Parker then its time to build the K
I'M JUST A LIL OLE GIRL....& DAUMMMMMMM LOVE THAT SOUND LOVE THAT SMELL GOOD GOD MAN!!!! VERY NICE I HAVE A BEAUTY OF A 1971 MUSTANG MACH 1"MADAM BLUE" LOVE THE POWER IN THE WATER TOO WE ARE REFURBING A CLASSIC 1979 ROCHELLCRAFT JET BOAT OPEN BOW WITH A BIG BLOCK FORD 460 IT WAS HEAP WHEN WE FOUND IT 3 YEARS AGO COMIN ALONG NICE THOUGH HARD TO FIND ORIGINAL STUFF FOR IT THOUGH PAINT COLOR ETC.. IT'S OUR LIL "ROOTBEER FLOAT" THE METALIC COLOR IS ROOTBEER ABOUT TO PUT HEADERS ON IT ANY IDEAS??
Waaw! In love! :-D hehe What does it cost to build like that engine? perhaps with 1000hk. for a car and not boat!:-) What is the company that builds engines like?
Howzit guys, wow that motor sounds amazing, true music to the ears!!! A quick q? Why does it idle like that, is it due to the cam? I have wondered the same thing about certain drag cars idling the same but never asked the question. Its like all 8 cylinders fire in quick succession and then there is a pause before it happens again :)
Its cool, I do like it. Just not sure why you would not put all that motor in a v-drive instead of a jet pump. The v-drive would be faster, but maybe this is built for a specific class...
+TheNorcalDude indeed. they were made for shallow waters and tight cornering. They did make these also with V-drive. So, it depends where you race them ;)
I think you can hear each cylinder fire off separetaly. Insane! I love it. I think I would be a bit scared first time out in that. Looks fun though
This can have dry sump with a VRO pump going to the intake. It could work on amsoil interceptor as it burns clean
"There is no replacement for displacement " bad ass motor.
Except now they are talking about the displacement of the supercharger or turbos
Looks like a a regular BBC to me hard to tell with out looking closer. My pickle forks got the old wide block 496 with an 8_71 Dyer's blower
You know it buds. Explains my 496. LoL
Except it's a 9.8" deck blown bbc vs an N/A tall deck.
What a tune on that beast...nice and crisp. That's an expensive task....well done.
Awesome! I love how it continuously revs even while at idle. Sounds exactly like my dad's 1973 Lincoln Continental. Back then, there was no 'noise pollution'!
Blower surge
Blower surge buds.
hahaha i can assure you your dads shitty ass lincoln did NOT sound like this
google your questions, it's usually much more reliable than asking commenters. For cooling, there's pickup underneath the boat, placement depends on design of hull. For propulsion as in a jet config versus a prop, the inlet for the jet is inline with the exit, imagine a tube with an impeller and you've pretty-much imagined a jet pump
Blown-injected was how I described my dates in high school.
That funny shit!! Lmao
Lmfao
💀
They idle like that because of the action of the blower pulley system, its normal at low idle, go to the drags and you'll hear the same idle surge on the blown (671 style) pro mods
Man I am from Australia , your SpeedBoat is bloody Madness !
sweet sound. I run a blown alky myself, V drive flat 540 inch Keith Black Chevrolet.but I do love a jet!!
How much is a 572 2 stroke
Bad-ass engine... Idle didn't impress me, but then it was revved up... just WOW! Great sound!
and that right there, friends, is a $20 dollar - 3 minute video.
And maybe a badass bottle but they're scared to open the throttle
Maybe more then 20$ depending on what race gas it takes lol
Lol
Lol no doubt! I take it you've paid for AV or C12 or 14 too.
If he's running real fuel it's probably more like 50$. Loo
Josh.. the cam doesn't make a blown motor lope like that.. It's caused by too much fuel at idle. If he adjusts the fuel a little leaner, the engine will smooth out.
That thing raps quick!! Sounds great!
that cackle! that's the one reason electric motors will NEVER replace internal combustion engines in my mind. No matter how much more efficient, or powerful they actually are.
@MotorsbyShooter It's on the right side. Could put it either side, but it's always nice to have the idler tucked inside.
Wow very nice and very clean! Be proud to own her!!!
Drug stopping machine killer right there, no questions asked.
Oh trust me! I've looked all over! Lol I've figured it out, now just need to find a hull... Thanks man!
For those of you who don't know you can adjust that hunting out just by adjusting the Barrel valve correctly .... Thanks Big D...
hey cp guy, you ever build an alochol motor, doesnt need an intercooler notice the frost on the blower and hat and with 25lbs of boost 9.5:1 comp and a whole lot of head work the #,s are pretty accurate, this same motor same heads blower cam everything dynoed at over 1200. there is a control at the drivers seat to disengage the outdrive so its not running at all
i want to wake my neighbors up with this...the cool thing is they wouldn't be mad they would get excited...
First and foremost, boat engines are different because they are under a constant high load. That is why hi-perf boat engines needs to be way overbuilt compared to car engines. that sure would make a great river boat
They say when you pass 600hp it has a different sound- that is true. When you pass 950- it has a whole different sound - especially when you are using zoomies and blower surge 🤘🤘🤘 sounds fuckin awesome in earbuds!!
Just your everyday channel cruising lake boat...
This is the coolest "stupid" thing I've ever seen!!!
The idle that revs up and down is from blower surge.
it has a roots blower on it and a massive cam, thats why it sounds like that.
Sounds good. Got the "hat" figured out. Good job.
@ollid13 It's actually called "blower surge" and is common with big roots style blown motors.
Love the zoomies, but hate the blower surge
never gets old hearing blower engine
you adjusting the ol flux capacitor?😂
It sounds like she´s having some boost there... Heavy!
DAMN I SEE SOME FUN DAYS ON THE LAKE WITH GHAT BEAST
@72Roushboy yea, i got the two names confused, jet boat performance was our first mech. and he messed our boat up, now these guys are, and ever since we've taken it there its been alot better...
Our of the exhaust, sir.
Alll that to go only 65 mph on the water crazy wow guy's
thats just plain ole good Fun!
THE HILLS ARE ALIVE.... WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC!!! LOL
Any info on the motor build?
How can you go that far, and run cast iron heads?? It sounds amazing!! But still? And then run a junk pump??
Taking air away which in turn adds more fuel, surging is becouse of lean fuel mixture, few wide open throttle runs could result in a melted puston
Oh what beautiful music!!!
Not much else sounds better than that!..awesome!
Way sweet nice boat and tunes playin the 8's veeerrrooom
@beiser034 - Can't wait to see the K when you get it finished. My Buddy (Hullshot on PB) just bought a Beiser about a month ago to build a K. I think the boat was called Revenge. Looking forward to seeing that one hit the water as well.
listen to the cam just lovin it!!!
@David Calloway Jesus dude that was 8 years ago. I was 17...
The idle of kings... when something idles like that, you just get the hell out of the way.
i bet that pump just loves running out of the water ... great way to burn up the wear ring .. hope it wasnt hook up to the engine..... boat looks really good tho
AWESOME speed boat engine!!
So help me understand, is that one of those greenhouse conscious boats, powered by batteries and an electric motor? For some reason, I'd thought it'd smaller and quieter. Hey, f'n sweet boat!
Very much greenhouse conscious. Runs on alcohol.
I was gonna say your hybrid does have a bigger motor but now I'm thinking about and the boat still has a starter motor. lol
That is so bad ass. I had to watch it again
When he fires this boat up he silences the world
Nice looking boat sounds nice does it float?
God I wish I could hear this in person! Could someone explain the rhythmic, on/off idle?
Does it float? It didn't seem to get in the water at all!
that's fucking music for my ears omg
That thing sounds sweet... blown alky forever!!!
Never mind the jealous idiots...
magster65 couldn't have nsaids it better
Then why do most high performance motors do it then?
I actually prefer the 2JZ boat but hey, this is a complete new coolness level!
Every Toyota camry should come with that engine!!
How much money did that engine cost?
20k probably.
Try more like 40k. I have a law Larson built blown 572 in my '72 Howard vdrive. Dual dominators on race gas not alky. Ran me $38k makes 1060@6psi 1755@28psi. Horsepower isn't cheap
Had a 21' Howard deck boat... beast was heavy but absolute quality lake boat... Ran 468 chev / w/800 holly and do right at 70mph.. ultra reliable..
rich r apoyemos a omega el fuerte🌎
The hills are alive with the sounds of music LOL
@KXRIDA1 thats blower surge your hearing
Can someone explain what is the function of the butterfly valves here?!
I've been building and running big blocks since 1973 and attribute my start to my 1969 Chevelle SS. Would love to see the build sheet and the Dyno run on this motor. It is at 25% overdrive with 11.5 to 1 compression, if you build a blown alky deal with only 580hp, you should stick with steert engines
Given that the hull won't be having too much to do with the water, have you fitted an "airspeed" indicator???
@piloty5
Its Jet Boat Plus in Lake Havasu
Where going to sell the jet boat complete either with a single carb big block or complete boat less motor its going in a brand new hull with a V-drive, if you click on Drakes other videos theres a video of it in Parker, still not quit dialed in yet, still messing with loaders and shoe adjustment
I guess this is like an ego boat. Me and my friends put a 250/6 blade prop on the back of his aluminum boat and were messing around with some jet boats in Canyon Lake here in Texas and we were killin' em. At least up to 80 knots.
NASTY looks like someones gonna do some drag racing!!
Id be scare dto have that amazing engine over any water, what if that thing sinks???
Sure does ride nice tho. Nice and smooth.
Got a video of this thing on the water?
Is there a certain limit to how much a jet pump can handle ??? I mean, after a certain point don't you pretty much have to go to a prop ?? I'm asking cause I really don't know much about it, not trying to be a smartass here.
theres alot of slack in that blower belt, i think you might want to tighten it up
I don't know whether to cry or piss my pants, that's hot.
iv always heard its bad on the jet pump to rev the enging out of watter...? somthing about the shaft devfecting and eating the wear ring?? anyone else ever head of such??

HUFF....HUFFF.HUFFFFF! OH THE SOUNDS OF HEAVEN!!!!!
How does the water get to the engine when its in the water? How are these engines different from street engines? Anyone?
sounds great man.
@RogerThat1986
Not on Rdp Im mostly on pb, the K has been coming along Im hull shoping been tide up with the other race boat right now, got one more race at Parker then its time to build the K
how is it cooled
Is that a direct drive setup? ... do you have to put ballast in the front to compensate for the weight at the transom?
can it go in the water too ?
Man thats crazy i would be scared as hell to ride or drive that thing
but can it bake a potatoe yesterday?
@drakekelley ohhhh, i thought that place was called jet boat performance, they worked on my dads boat. and will be rebuilding the pump b4 next summer.
I'M JUST A LIL OLE GIRL....& DAUMMMMMMM LOVE THAT SOUND LOVE THAT SMELL GOOD GOD MAN!!!! What is the company that builds engines like?
Your lookin at about 30 to 40k. For a reliable motor. Key is learn how to tune. Blower surge can hurt a motor. Rich lean rich lean can smoke it
is there supposed to be that much play in the belt?
is that all it does?
It is bad for the pump to run it dry even if it is disengaged. He most likely has the driveline removed.
Howzit guys, wow that motor sounds amazing, true music to the ears!!! A quick q? Why does it idle like that, is it due to the cam? @@slowpoke96Z28 indeed I have :)
@@sfbassist1 cool

@distructor20 Because of the "hot" cam installed in the engine.
Why don't you have a droop snoot? I see the ride plate.
