  • Back on the spill with nightcrawlers in hand. Summer fishing can tough especially during heatwaves, but they aren't impossible. Fishing slow is always a safe bet to catch lazy fish.

    Hey Samong, if you’re in So California we can go to the spot I know next to Lake pyramid. There a aqueduct spill with monster size striped bass and giant channel cats, there not as good tasting like the flatheads,but they’ll work! The fish we’re on the stringer so heavy to lift. I had a drag them to the pick up truck!

    They just released 5k chinook smolt in Latah Creek, I'll bet that pikeminnow's belly was full of them. With that said they are actually native to our northwest waters so keep them or release them it is what its is.

    I love that you pointed out a spot and referred to it as "snag central". I am a RUclips fishing content creator from Maine. I have a spot that I do a lot of bass fishing that I refer to as Snag Central because of it's propensity for taking hooks, lines, lures, baits, etc. I have had subscribers see me in town and talk to me about a previous video when I was at Snag Central. It put a slight smile on my face to hear somebody else from another state refer to a spot as Snag Central.
    Keep up the good work. I enjoy your videos.

    Live baits always produce. I get the nightcrawlers after a skunk or two. You will always catch something on it, even a bluegill. Nice weight idea.

    Got a challenge for you! Go fishing and make a pole from whatever you find there- bring some fishing line to use- make a hook from a paper clip. 2nd- after you catch any fish- then you can change any 1 item- sinker- hook etc. Should be fun and great content. Love you Chanel- I use to live there and loved it.

    Maybe try a sliding sinker with a Top Brass ProJo brass sinker. They are cylindrical in shape, so a little harder to get hung up. On really hot days tie some water shoes to the outside of your pack, then put them on and sit with your feet in the water.

    • @SamongOutdoors
      @SamongOutdoors  2 года назад

      Pikeminnow are native here. The biggest misconception about them is that they are invasive which if false. If anything, a lot of the game fish that people love to fish for are more invasive than pikeminnow such as bass.

    • @stu505
      @stu505 2 года назад

      @@SamongOutdoors Samong is right. They are native and not illegal to throw back. WDFW does want people to target the larger ones, like in this video, so that it reduces the average size of the species (so it gives the smolt a chance to get to the ocean).
