Powerful film - one of the best courtroom dramas ever made. Great performances by a distinguished cast. All of them here have passed away, but William Shatner (before he commanded the Starship Enterprise) who had a nice supporting role as Spencer Tracy's aide and court bailiff.
Not seen in the promo, but who had key parts in the movie were two actors who would later become TV stars of great renown, William Shatner and Werner Klemperer.
This aired on February 28, 1965, in advance of the movie's premiere on March 7, 1965 (ironically, interrupted that evening by a special report concerning state troopers and other law officers beating up marchers taking part in a peaceful civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama).
"JUDGEMENT AT NUREMBERG" was, without a doubt, one of the finest Stanley Kramer/United Artists releases ever! and with ABC's "THE SUNDAY NIGHT MOVIE" in the 1960s,this was THE Network to watch, especially on Sunday evenings, even throughout the late 60s and 1970s,ABC was hell bent on delivering TOP rated motion pictures back in the day, before Satelite dishes and Cable networks, and Personal Computers,THIS was really the finest time ever, when the ABC Television Network brought all of these terrific motion picture classics to the small screen-outstanding viewing, way before the likes of crap like "DANCING WITH THE STARS","MODERN FAMILY",and "HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER",all, total rubbish, compared to the days, when this network once stood for higher quality!!
Great Movie !
