i was visiting here on a school trip from the US at the time of the disaster, luckily the teachers took the year to higher ground and we missed the flooding. We were stranded for around 5days in Japan and the trip was cancelled. The Japanese are a great people, very sensible when faced with disasters and could see that that we were the priority giving us their much needed rations with little protest. i will.never forget the 16,000 that died that day r.i.p.
