Brutal Legend is super underrated. Aside from basically being one big love letter to heavy metal music, the game is just plain fun to play with an immersive story and world.
Multiplayer's not dead. There's still a bunch of us who still play (and even mod the game), it's one of the best Multiplayer games ever made. You just won't find any random people on matchmaking (if you do, it's those damn achievement hunters who surrender to each other instead of just using Steam Achievement Manager).
This game is so underrated in my opinion, honestly it deserves a sequel. I love this game so much I got the ormagöden symbol tattooed on my arm gotta love that metal hahahah
You are METAL dude. I'm so proud of the community we have left. I still play it now on xbox sadly can't find anyone online so I teach my friend to play with me
This game is so cool I stopped playing RDR2 lol at least until I beat Brutal Legend featuring Jack Black and Ozzy plus the best tunes you ever heard. ❤
Flying into a horde of enemy units and just barely getting off a massive AOE damage Face Melter before they could take you down and then flying away was what really sold me on the action-RTS appeal
11:51 this point makes perfect sense when you realize that Guitar Hero isn't far off from this game and they could've easily made another Guitar Hero out of Brutal Legend, i like to think the RTS elements come from the fact that A live performance still needs to be managed just like an RTS and you're the roadie who manages the action behind the performance, your troops being your performers Which could be emphasized by the fact that You do very little personal damage to the Enemy's Stage/Base, and Your Troops do a lot more damage than you in that regard Interpretation is fun ain't it?
This game have me the appreciation for Motorhead, Lita Ford, and several other great bands. Ironically I've been playing pvz neighborhood ville and keep remembering the 'we're just matching around keeping this land safe' from Brutal Legend as i find another skirmish of enemies to fight. I really hope that this game gets a remake. This game and lollipop chainsaw were my fave games on the ps3 as well as Angry Bear........'Defluffication...........'
Yeah if you keep playing, it shows that it has a point. Part of the theme was dealing with depression and helping those who have depression. I had issues in the middle as well. I was freshly diagnosed with PTSD from deploying to Afghanistan and my brother attempting suicide. My life felt that way in the middle, and finally one day i decided to keep playing that game and i beat it. That hand was very helpful to me. Lollipop Chainsaw showed me how to keep moving forward even though it is difficult. People often overlook themes in games and journalists often judge those who play videogames, but for me i find that they help me deal with PTSD, along with being social.
Heck yeah! Highly underrated game. I'm just glad all the stars aligned to make the impossible happen. Nobody cared about heavy metal, rts (although it isn't one) and anything unique as well.
14:17 The ironic thing about a lot of Elden Ring players is that they still look up guides & walkthroughs on the internet. How to finish the cryptic side quests, how to create optimal character builds, etc. They still yearn for their hand to be held.
@@VinceSteel Totally! I remember being in 6th grade having wet dreams about this game. Coolest shit ever! Glad that it is getting more recognition nowadays. Glad to see you back Vince and thank you for another great video. Hopefully there will be more to come!
@@black_knightx4147 oh yeah, I took the question literal, as in if there was native 8th gen ports available 🙂↔️ like when people ask to the high heavens to have a souped up rerelease of something like Metal Gear Rising. In curiosity; how does it do on your console? A stable 720p image I imagine
Brutal legend was great. I had no idea it was an RTS when picking it up back in the day but I played a lot of star craft and age of empires so I got used to it quick and had tons of fun once I got the flow down

This game was so ambitious for the time. I just love the world building so much. I hope it gets a remaster
This video is sick!
I watched you type this comment. LOL!!!

One of my favorite games of all time, and it holds up SO WELL to this day. Would love to see a remake or sequel for sure!
BL2 hinges heavily on Psychonauts 2.
Fucking love this game. It’s a tragedy it’s so underrated.
This game needs the song. Orgasmatron by Sepultura ❤

May the Gods of Metal always be with you, Vince of the Steel. God fucking Speed!
First played this at 11 years old and been a metalhead ever since, I seriously can't go a year without 100% the game again 😆🤘
Woah woah woah... Great review. But metalocolyose has plenty of tragic as well as comic moments within the series!

The beginning of this game was amazing. Then it just trailed off.

Welcome back, Vince.
Thanks. It's been too long.

I see. You are a man of culture as well!
Hey, look who am backs. Is Vince!

This looks somewhat similar to Giants: Citizen Kabuto. One of my all-time favorites.
I have never heard of this game before, but after googling it, it looks awesome. Thank you for namedropping this.
Plenty of humor, which is far too rare. And jetpacks! Even Tetris could be improved if only there were some way to shoehorn in a jetpack.
If they did Brutal legend in the style of Elden ring that would be so good. But like you said, youre a roadie. Youd never get to be the Hero.
He has RETURNED!!!!
Hope it was worth the wait, bud.

Man, i grew up with this game as a child. I miss it so much. Is Brutal Legend still playable in newer consoles?
Sadly not, but the PC port is sufficiently optimized and has controller support
@ElTequilla what do you mean? I've been playing on my Xbox one for years and still do

@@ElTequilla yeah it's pretty stable, I rarely experience any issues playing
I didn't know this game existed. And I had the 360.
Just found the gym on gamepass and love it. We need another

I try to find a match but can never find one
I was so pumped when this came out. The RTS definitely what caused me to not finish. Just wasn't my thing and as it got heavier I burnt out lol.
I loved this game so much! ngl.
Seen it a lot but never tried it until last night. Fucking awesome game. 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Skeletonwitch throws a helluva show lemme tell you

I see they still haven't fixed the visual glitches on PC. Shame :(
