Thanks for making the harder difficulties VERY VERY difficult. Playing a level over and over until you can ace it really feels almost Hotline Miami inspired with the pace of the game. It's why it stands out from Brutal Doom for me. I play Brutal Doom when I want to lay waste to everything, I play Brutal Wolf when I want to constantly avoid death by the skin of my teeth. Also I love the axes for this reason.. they become so vital to the strategy.
I just discovered this mod a week ago or so and it made me fall in love with Wolfenstein all over again. I really enjoyed the original but didn't really touch it much after Doom came out, turns out all I needed to enjoy Wolfenstein again was for it to be remade in the Doom engine with all the care and attention ZioMcCall gave it.
If this was the wolfesntein 3d back in the 90's, then everyone would literally feel like joy they have never felt in their LIFE. And if Project Brutality was DOOM, then it would knock off EVERY SINGLE COMPETITION, although Wolfenstein alone would topple every competitor, the alternate DOOM would feel like BEING there in real life.
What you said was pretty damn true, man. Wolfenstein 3D did techically pioneer the FPS era, being called the grandfather of fps games, but Wolfenstein walked so Doom could run. But what i love the most is that both games are connected. ID Software confirmed that Blazkowitz is Doomguy's great grandfather. That just tells you that that's why Doomguy is so badass. Killing evil things is in his bloodline. The blood of a Blazkowitz. The most badass family in gaming history.
Death Incarnate is the only way to play Brutal Wolf. It's beyond hard, it's insane, but if you play it without save scumming you'll eventually get really, really good at obliterating the level. It plays ironically like a first person Hotline Miami if you do that.
I think it's easy for people to forget just how pioneering id actually were. They're right up there with the Beatles frankly. Except even the Beatles were helped by George Martin to change music forever. id were a group of genius outsider kids.
For those who want the original experience, but with the benefits of the Doom engine, there's the TC for GZDOOM. My favorite thing about the TC is you can shoot enemies from around corners, which makes some areas easier. But the enemies have the Doom AI applied to them, so they behave a little different then they normally would. But doesn't matter to much. Also the map is much better.
To be honest, despite the fact that i like Brutal Wolfenstein, it still lacks some variety in gameplay. I played the whole game, beat all of the episodes and even messed around with cheats in this mod, but those the same looking corridors gives me headache. Thus, in my opinion, this mod still needs some improvements. Also, it is more like "Survival" Wolfenstein than "Brutal". Cause by saying "Brutal" in comparison to Brutal Doom, you mean that you playing like a ultimate killing machine, who can kill all enemies with no problem and finish his gole. But in Brutal Wolfenstein, you don't have armor, you don't have that many health, enemies kill you in few shots and most of the time you don't have enough ammo. Thus, the only way you can beat this game, is not easiest difficulty, if you really wanted to enjoy this game. If not, and if you wanted to try to survive in that strange Wolfenstein world, then set your difficulty high and give it a try.
to be fair, it's only called brutal wolfenstein because it follows 2 principles that Brutal Doom has: lots of blood and gore, and improvements to the gameplay
i do not understand the lack of improvements though. Zio has already remade Episode 6 and made it into a good episode. there are a lot of weapons and even funny easter eggs. are these not enough for you?
@@robowisanveithasung6022 I was not talking about weapons and easter eggs. I was talking about everything else. The levels are still just a corridors. It is not like that in Brutal Doom, where you can be unstopable. But here, if you rush forward, then you are basically dead.

Maybe if I was an 80 year old survivor of the holocaust, but I'm really not. Nazis have been "bad guys" in movies for a long time. I had to laugh when he described Wolfenstein as "implying explicit antifascist themes." The 'Nazis' in Wolfenstein (and in most US pop culture, tbh) are just cartoon bad guys. It's a simple and inherently brainless stereotype; there's no real political element involved, unless you think the message 'Nazi = Villain' is some kind of mindblowing political critique.
