    Making us wait again! I have one of those. It's big and it's heavy, but it flies great..

      Agree,T45 flies great! v2 and lighter battery this time was night and day difference. Maiden flight felt better all around!

      I flew my T-45 last weekend with the 1350kv with a YPG 120 hv esc.
      Ran 9s 5200 90c 1240 grams.
      It flew stable with tons of power and authority!
      What helped the most on this jet was adding a assan steering gyro for takeoff and landings on a blacktop runway.

    Thanks BD. Great plane. My V1 with slats and brakes removed and using the SMC5300 makes her very light. Not a super nimble sport jet, but she sure looks great in the air and on the ground. Look forward to seeing more on this new v2.

    As always BD, I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! I know you are busy but can you do a video or point me to one you recommend that shows how you manually trim your plane after trimming it in your radio? I surely would appreciate it!!

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  9 месяцев назад +1

      Place model on table or floor. Measure from ground to center of surface or use reference on plane. Zero out trim. Now adjust linkage to set surface to that point. Do all surfaces and your good to go :)

    I am looking for my next Jet. I like this jet, looks wise. I'm currently flying the 70mm viper. what would you recommend next? As far as best overall handling? I do love military jets. However, I know they all don't the best and have bad tendencies.
    90mm viper?
    Avanti?

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  6 месяцев назад

      Military go with Freewing T-33. Sport Jet go with Freewing Avanti V-2.

    I'm beginning to think the FMS EDF Jet 80mm Bae Hawk is more enjoyable to fly, and a bit quicker. I think the 80mm is the sweet spot.

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  2 месяца назад

      Agreed! FMS is more nimble,lighter wing loading and uses smaller battery. T45 handles wind better without either having gyro.
      FMS is the best overall/all around.

    On my T-45 V2, I have the aileron, elevator, and flap linkages in the 3rd hole from the end of the servo arms. All linkages are in the outer hole on all of the control horns. It's against my religion to turn the servo travel down in my radio and I never set the dual rates to less than 50%. Turning the travel down decreases the resolution of the radio and the positioning accuracy of the control surfaces. The high rates on my T-45 are set to 100%; the low rates are 70% on aileron, 75% on elevator, and 80% on rudder. The expos are all at 20%. The gyro gains in the AR636 are 30% for roll, 40% for pitch, and 50% for yaw. I'd use the same AS3X gains in one of the newer Smart AS3X/SAFE receivers.

      @BDTennessee  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the info.
      Moving the servo arms will tone down movement without loss of resolution. However i have flown some planes/jets adjusted both ways and cant hardly tell a difference in final outcome. Visually i see smoother movement on the bench tho
      🤣

    Hello BD. I am ready to purchase a new RC today. This one is at the top of the list. I watched all your videos on the FW Avanti, Avanti V2 and EF 90mm Viper, etc. I have the FW Avanti V1, FW L-39 and EF 90mm Viper. With that landing experience in mind, how would you rate the ease of landing this T-45 compared to the 90mm Viper and Avanti V1? I appreciate your input, it really helps with decision making. Thank you! Dale.

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  10 месяцев назад

      Wing loading and speed needed is slightly higher than Viper 90mm. Once setup correctly (cg,rates and battery),T45 becomes easier to fly and land. Need to remember heavier and higher wing loading jet. Keep nose down and ride the power. Avanti and L39 is easiest, next Viper and hardest T45. T45 isnt hardest 90mm to land. Setup is key for sure!
      Avanti and L39: 3-4
      Viper: 5-6
      T-45: 6-7
