You really get the hang of it by the end. A real Treat to get these classic mylar narrated bangers going again. I’ve missed these. I leave buzzing tom do something every time
Very enjoyable - I own _none_ of the gear on the screen (except that intellijel case) and I am still sufficiently inspired to try something similar with what I do have on my table. You're a true genius of mixing the product demo with the pure abstract ideas in the space. The quotation marks were an awesome edit as well. (: Thank you. Stay rad.
I’m with you! Knob turns to control things feels way better than the on off button settings in sequences! A 1u euclidian sequencer would be amazing! Or the thing I wish existed, a knob preset control on something like a steppy! A Steppy with a Branches is sort of part way there mind you. Love these videos! So much inspiration! Thank you!!!
I have a similar set up for my travel case. I’d replace the two Turing machines with a Marbles, it’s like 3 Turing machines with built in quantizer but of course it what you gel with. Good work 👍🏻
Ace stuff Mylar, hopefully someone else will be bitten by the modular bug with these tiny suggested system videos :) this was literally what brought me into the modular world, seeing possibilities in first few videos from the series. Btw, all manufacturers should be pushing demos in the suggested system series. A better showcase of the module in a sort of 'real life situation'. :)
This video convinced me to buy another 2hp Turing Machine as well as the 2hp DIV. I have Pamela's New Workout. But I like the idea of turning a knob to adjust the time division. Since it has CV inputs I want to experiment with a Turing Machine to control the time division. It could be interesting on a closed hi hat.
Long story short: Get a drum machine or sampler, plus a cool desktop semi-modular synth (w midi), and throw down 😉. (Personally using an MPC1000 and Eowave Quadrantid Swarm {which you convinced me to get, haha}, have a ton of other gear but this is my current fave rig).
@@mylarmelodiesThere’s a few extra features assignable from the dip switches not mentioned in the quick start guide, also a brand new firmware just released that supports presets. Great to see one in your rack btw.
Just would like to mention: While it is in fact able to deliver immediacy, 6equencer can also be used to create more complex, evolving rhythms. For one there is a probability function that can mute instruments based on two probability levels. There also in a random play mode, that uses an algorithm to randomly jump in a pattern, while maintaining the main groove. But of course no big hands-on knobs! True.. 😉
You should check out the Behringer Brains. It's a Plaits clone with added stuff. It has DX7 sounds as well as a 303 esque sort of deal. It's a great self contained voice at a good price.
Way more affordable than an equivalent module, readily available everywhere especially second hand. I’m trying to hopefully provide ideas and options that are accessible to more people. EDIT: Just to be clear I’m referring to the Beatstep Pro, not the original Beatstep!
does the plasma voice have the ability to not make everything sound super distorted, i love it functionality but dont like evertything ive heard from it at this point is insanely distored
From my experience it’s definitely got baked in character, without a way around the plasma tube itself then it’s always going to sound a bit dusty/fuzzy. You could of course filter it to smooth it back out. But yeah, character on by default!
@@mylarmelodies so even with the drive all the way down its still has the distortion? can you recomend and other modules that have functionality like this? like that come in in a package like this?
@@qwer4621 Welp I do mention several in the vid - but in case it was missed, obviously no other module has the exact same feature set, but you could research Quadrantid Swarm, Plaits, Braids, Plonk, Noise Engineering voice modules.
Off beat hi-hats DO NOT create a push pull effect. Damn you are so unspecific in your musical language. It's almost like you have RANDOM voltage controlled vocabulary (rVCV). Cheers m8, upgrade your musical vocabulary.
The game keeps changing I can't keep up
Combinatorial complex ;)
I changed the game and the game won.

I see mylarmelodies and I drop everything I'm doing. Love your content so much man. Great video ❤
Ahh thanks m8.
My favorite series! One mulodulation source using the attenuverters is so simple but genius.

Amen m8 and yes this is the intention! Do the thing with whatever you have
@@mylarmelodies I promise I will! 🙇
"Minimum Viable Party" is a wonderful addition to the zeitgeist of modern improvised EDM
This is an awesome "savoir faire" you show us. The sound out is bonkers! Nice setup idea, well thought. Good.
I just love seeing what you come up with on this series !

Another great system video! I’d love to see a companion video of an actual set played on these systems.
I don’t love techno but I love your videos.
To be fair you could 100% make ambient with this, there’s an FX aid for that!

the kickain can be its own mute, just configure the dipswitches on back! Could save some space on the switched mult
I didn’t know that!! Thank you, will check that out, wicked

@@knobula_synths Thanks Jason!! Will investigate
You gave me great ideas!! As usual..
Instruo Arbhar has a clutch function. They call it track and hold though.
I love that clutch feature. But shouldn't it be a pedal?

Thanks, yes I know that one. I’ve no intention of ever buying or promoting a Behringer product personally!
Gizmotron arrived. He will Not Return until the wroth has been flabbered
When can we listen to this setup live in a club?
That’s a question!
I'd love to hear this at an algorave in Sheffield... 😉
Are you going in to the bestie with eurorack level?
Sorry if you answer it in the next 8 minutes but are you using the midronome because of how the 505 reacts to midi tempo?
No, just because 505 doesn’t have analog clock, and the Midronome does both MIDI and analog!
Awesome vid, though please tune your kick! It sounds just slightly out which is distracting!
Sounds fine to me!
Why do you keep referencing the Beatstep in particular? What am I missing here?

you cant beat the beatstep pro in price / functionalities ratio
