This is the absolute best pocket/belt/ladder meter to carry for generator technician. I have a fluke 85V, a 177, a 324 325 and the 377fc. The 325 is my most used meter these days. Or the 377fc. That’s saying something when you like this one as much as a meter nearly 3 times it’s price. The 324 was no good for the field so I keep it at home now. Dc amps for checking battery draw from and engine, frequency for making sure the generator and utility power are close and can synronize on transfer, and to make sure the generator isn’t loosing power during a test. If a generator drops below 55hz in north America it shuts down in an under frequency fault. This and the 377/378fc are the only meters I recommend to people I. The generator trade. Unless you want to carry around a multimeter, amp clamp and phase estimation meter like many of us do, which co sums a lot of space and weighs a lot more. I really only break out the 377fc for new installs where phase rotation is a necessary check or where an engineer wants readings.I didn’t end up spending the extra for the 378fc as I really didn’t want the power quality readings as my OCD would drive me crazy and cause me to spend a lot on a power quality meter. I’d rather just not know, beside most customers are cheap and wouldn’t do anything about it. Love your videos by the way.

Most fluke meters do have an auto shut off to help preserve battery life if someone throws their meter in their tool bag so it doesn't run battery to nothing.
You can use the max function to get an idea but the inrush function you’re referring to takes readings at approx 10,000th if a microsecond and that’s how quick inrush currents can happen. If you want a cheap meter with inrush maybe try the Klein cl900? It’s no fluke but it has the inrush function. 🤷♂️
@@davereed6612 hi dave you seem to have some exsperiance and im looking for some advice im looking to messure ac dc at low levels but i also need to know the frequancy i will only be able to get a clamp round the wire with no access to any terminals or exsposed wire so it 100% has to messure frequancy with the clamp thanks for any advice also im looking at 3khz to 80khz frequancy range

The 325 is my daily driver! Small, reliable and functional. It fits nicely in my Veto TP-XL and has most of what I need most of the time!

non-electrician here.....can I record typical tartup amps for electric motors with this Fluke 325?
What you are asking for is called in-rush. And no the 32X clamps do not capture inrush. You would need to look at the 37X series of clamp meters.

Can these measure batteries? Car, AA, etc.?
Yes any meter that can Measure DC volts could do that for you.
