    The genius of this band is their ability to have vision musically and take the exact perfect moves to make it a reality. It’s like a master chef knowing in their head what a combination of flavors and techniques will produce, and they painstakingly make it a reality for people to consume. And it’s perfection.

    Great reaction and great comments. I'm far from a musician but I have ears. There is something special about these three young women playing together. Maybe being sisters is part of it and also playing together from such a young age but I honestly believe if any one of them was replaced this band wouldn't be half as good. The Warning is the best thing to happen to rock music in decades.

    • @Amaranthine1000
      @Amaranthine1000 Год назад +9

      They actually spoke about that in an interview, while at Berkley they had to play with other musicians and found it very difficult because they couldn't read them or predict how to adapt to their different style. There is a real sisterly bond between Dany, Pau and Ale that know know exactly what each is doing and is able to accommodate it without even thinking about it, I think that is a major part of the Magic that is The Warning.

    • @hmmm7399
      @hmmm7399 Год назад +6

      @@Amaranthine1000 I saw that video. It was very interesting. Kind of off topic but not really. I played a good bit of basketball in my younger days (1970's). Mostly the same group of guys. Everyone was familiar with each players style of play. There was something different with my brother and me. When we were on the same team, my brother and I were pretty darn good together. It was like mind reading. I knew his move and he knew mine. I could time his shots perfectly to get the rebound if he missed. He knew my move for a pass. When we were on opposite teams we tried to play our game differently but it rarely worked. We knew we had to change but, somehow, we figured out what that change was and it was extremely frustrating. It's hard to explain but there is a definite mental connection between siblings.

  • @elgonwilliams7624

    Long ago I decided that this is their best-constructed song. It's one of two songs that are must plays in Mexico. And yet, at The World is a Vampire show they were supposed to play it but the festival limited them to exactly 1 hour. They couldbn't fit the whole song in so it was cut from the setlist. But the crowd was so into their entire show, singing along and interacting, they knew the end of the show was coming and they were begging for Martirio. But The Warning has been closing the show with Evolve. So, Dany calls an audible and does a couple of verses of Martirio acapella with the crowd singing along. There are some videos of it that fans posted. It was really cool. Of course, that wasn't the first time Dany had performed the song acapella. She did it on one of her Dany Day shows. The amazing thing is that she can do that and still be on pitch from start to finish! She has a lot more talent than most people understand. Pau's drum part on this song is phenomenal. The variations she throws in make the song. There is no rivalry within the band here. They do exactly what is right for the song, every time, even when the song doesn't need a guitar solo. They check their egos backstage before they come out from behind the curtains. Dany's scream at the end sort of captures the emotional rollercoaster of not only that concert (Pau broke down into tears at the very end of the concert and buried her face into Ale's shoulder and then into her mother's.) Dany was having some feels too from the crowd singing along with her. Clearly not her voice cracking from strain but from the emotion in that moment. They'll probably continue writing a song or two in Spanish for every album they do, and they need to. First of all, they consider it more of a challenge than writing in English, so that's why they need to do it to grow as musicians because as a wise man once said, if it was easy it wouldn't be fun.

      @andgar923 Год назад +25

      I've seen people do cover of their songs and I hate to say this but they end up really exposing why the original is better without all the extra embellishments, this includes guest performers. No matter how good the guitarist, drummer or bassist is they make the song worse. It's not because they're not talented, but because The Warning curates their songs immaculately. No need for extra fills, extra riffs, etc they know what fits and it works. Some reviewer was critical of them stating that they were just "fine" and that they needed more embellishments in their music because it was just simple. So simple that his beginner students could play it with ease he was sure of it. But that's not what music is about. The Beatles, Stones, Floyd, etc weren't great because they were super technical, they were great because they wrote amazing music. No matter how technically great Zappa was, he's not listenable (imo).
      So you're correct 100% in the girls leaving their egos aside for the sake of the song, something certain prog and metal musicians should take notice of. Having said all that, their music is still far from basic or absent of any technical prowess of musicianship. Because those that know KNOW!
      Just to add to your post, Pau was crying during the entire song and broke down even further afterwards. Ale as always, cooler than a frozen cucumber, she's just built differently.

Much better than many reactors who just say 'wow' and 'awesome' without any insight or constructive feedback as to what it was about the song they liked (of course some reactors don't really like the song they react to, they're just after the benefits of having people come to their channel). Just said this in another comment but this is The Warnining’s most beautiful song…. Dany, Pau and Ale are Sirens from Homer’s The Odyssey and I am drowning in their music!

    I totally agree with the Tom work you’re speaking of. And the scream in the official MV. Has always got me but this live version of the scream is even better. I have dug the shit out of every live vid from this show.

    I think the last minute of this song is my favorite ending to any of their songs, Idk exactly what the song is about but it just feels uplifting and anthemic. I appreciate your breakdown of Pau's drumming cuz that isn't the kind of analysis that you get from just any reactor. Obviously, some of it went over my head since I'm not a musician but I still appreciate it. It did sound like Dany let out a bit of a growl at the end, as always I love their passion.

    I just love sung spanish despite barely speaking a word. Maybe it’s all the ending vowels, it’s just made for singing. Then again, maybe it’s just The Warning bringing the feels 😊

    I don't speak Spanish, but have loved this song from day one. You never said anything about Ale's walking bass run at 8:44 your video when you were talking about Paus toms.

    Tear in my eye too. And if you look closely we weren't the only one. Look carefully at the end and you can see Pau is starting to lose it. And Dany's screech -- was that on purpose or did her voice break with all the emotion filling that room. I get tears just thinking about it. I can't listen to this song without filling my eyes.
    Meanwhile, interesting comments on the drum techniques, Dany's solo, Ale's bass sounds. I really got into this one. Thanks, Jesse.

    That slip of dany at the last part of the solo in the end of the song but she react so quickly is awesome cause she was feeling it but at the same time like so focus on the performance u can see the emotion from pau face those moment when heart is beating so fast however always so confident when playing they are masters in their instruments

    I don't get the obsession with shred solos. I like them and all, but what's the most revered solo ever? Usually, depending on it's from a musician or a fan, it's Comfortably Numb or Larry Carlton on Steely Dan's Don't Take Me Alive. Neither are even close to shreds. It's tone and note selection and phrasing. Dany's got that gift and is only getting started.

    What is it about this song that makes me so emotional, especially towards the end?
