There are times that Ale is actually playing the melody, especially on the lyrics "go ahead and cry, shallow pools ..." I'm more impressed with Ale every day.
I ripped the Error CD a while back. Yesterday, I was playing around with the EQ on the playback. It's amazing how intricate the backing tracks are for the songs. Of course, it's all them playing the instruments, but I found it really interesting. I don't think most people notice it in the concerts or even pay much attention to it on the studio versions of the songs, but there is a lot going on at a subdued level under the guitar, bass, and drums. For example, there are subtle keyboards on some of the songs and it sounds like a sequencer is used under the chorus on Disciple. Interesting stuff. And it really helps fill in.
I truly thought when I first heard "Money" it would be The Warning's first huge hit. While it didn't reach the top of the charts, the ERROR album has been very well received and the band is gaining popularity. I can't wait to see them live for a third time, May 16 in New Orleans.

Hey Don! Don't you think this fierce "a cappella" heeeeeeey opening is one of the coolest things ever!? And did you notice how it starts very disonant, with tension and then with the smear it resolves and settles? So dope how it sounds, i love it soooo much!
I think it's like a tritone resolving up to a fifth but with everything smearing upwards a bit...Dany landing on the fifth and Pau landing on the root below, Ale same as Dany but an octave lower. I'd have to check on that to make sure...but the TRICK is that Pau slides less than Danny and Ale, thus creating that super cool effect. Like catching up to fit square in the end (if that's english somehow, lol).
When I saw them live, the crowd did the “Going once, going twice, sold!” and the “cold, hard, cash hon” lines, but somewhat to my surprise not the cash and money chant with Ale and Pau, which I thought people would do. Perhaps because of what you pointed out, or because those chants are on an off beat with Dany’s lyrics. Enjoyed your reaction and analysis as usual! 👍😎

Ale is "the Human Metronome"... and what she's got going is *five* strings. 😋 And yes, they've perfected "the pregnant pause", with many examples over the years. It's a great musical technique that is under-utilized by a lot of bands, but they embrace it. It's emphasis in it's most "zen-like" form.

I think, yes very tight and relaxed. The Warning is as always crisp and loud playing in live. I am desperate to hear new songs this year as they said.

The Chanting is such a cool throwback too, even though I can't think who else did it like this. It reminds me of The Runaways.
