you didn't say what tip of paint! I used the wrong paint and it bubbled up. you also didn't say you could use your table saw for cutting. that I found worked great.
I love that you use creativity to 1. Make your home even prettier from DIY to DIY and 2. Save a lot of money. Your garage door looks absolutely gorgeous!!
I kept looking through videos and DIY blogs to find a truly good way of creating faux garage door windows ... I'm REALLY happy to have found yours! It's clear, concise, and is much better that many directly-on-the-door spray techniques, which (if I get this done properly) will allow us to enjoy driving up to our house for several years, and not have to do further updating before putting our house on the market. Thanks so much!
You are SO welcome! Plus, I'm happy to mention that they LAST after about 3 years the faux windows look exactly like they did when I installed them! It was worth the work! Have fun with your project!
This is a great way to use the HomeRight Super Finish Max, Spray Shelter, and Steam Cleaner!! Thanks for sharing. The garage door looks amazing with the faux windows.
Thank you! I loved using my HomeRight projects for my faux garage door window project. I saved hours of work time by using them too! Everything from a professional finish on the newly painted door to scrubbing the dirt off with the Steam Cleaner! I'm so glad you guys like the project!
Hi and thank you so much! I wanted/needed an upgrade that was affordable and this did the trick! I hope you make a set of faux garage door windows too!
I love this GREAT idea! I have a question what size did you cut the plexiglass? I see at Homedepot they have precut sheets at 11X14 0.93 inch wondering if that will work. Thank you for your help
Thanks! I measured the panels on my door and chose a size that worked. I'm sure the info is in my post on my website at H2OBungalow.com. search faux window and you'll see the post. Hope that helps!
Ive been looking at the Coach House pre-made faux windows on Amazon. Several customers have said the plexiglass warps with sun exposure. Have you experienced this?
Love it. I have 2 questions. 1 what was the good outdoor glue u used to assemble the frames and 2 were those screw that you used to attach frames to door if so what type or length of screws. Thank you. Love your bungalow. Am subscribing and want to tackle a few if not all of your projects. Wanting to do this one asap. Keep up the amazing inspiration.
Hi Marsee and thank you! If you go to my blog post I share the screw size. Any outdoor rated glue should work. I used Gorilla Glue clear in a tube for this project. Thanks so much for subscribing!
Thank you so much Julie! This wan't a hard project to do. Seriously, anyone can pretty much add faux windows to garage doors doing it the way I did. :)
Yes, but they look like crap. They don't have any detail and they look like stick ons. These look 100% real and after 1 1/2 years in harsh FL weather they still look great.
Read my post here and get links to the products I used. h2obungalow.com/how-to-make-faux-garage-door-windows/

We are building a home and the builder said the doors with windows are 5 months out, so this might be my answer! Thank you.

You make it look so easy. Don't have half the tools you show on here. Great job!
Thank you! You could easily use just a miter box and hand saw. This all looks more complicated than it really is😊
Oh my goodness! This is so clever and looks amazing. Such a great upgrade.
Thank you so much! This is such an affordable way to update the garage without breaking the budget!

Love your video, how noticeable are the screws that go unto the glass
No at all, especially from 2 feet out!
I want to do frost paint for a black garage door
Why paint it? I want light to come in. You can buy magnetic if you want to have fake.
You are quite amazing, lady!
Thank you so much Julie! This wan't a hard project to do. Seriously, anyone can pretty much add faux windows to garage doors doing it the way I did. :)
You can buy these and put them on with magnets.
You can buy magnetic ones from Amazon for even more savings

You could just get magnetic faux windows for $20 on amazon...
They look fake just like the stickers they are. These look just like they came with the door. 200% better!
