Thank you! Successfully installed it! Be sure for the tub nut with the wrench that you don’t overtighten it or it’ll lock up the rotor

I followed the steps exactly as laid out in this video. If you can change oil in a car, you can do this repair.

I have the same issue with a GE washer model GTW680BPL1DG. But the center metal part on this one doesnt seem to sell separately . And mine has gear splines in the center to slide over the shaft. The nut was left threaded. We used a 33 mm deep socket with a impact wrench to take the nut off. So far it looks like an entire tub is the only option. Very expensive. Trying to find or create a better fix. This one looks like that center metal portion is smalller than yours. And the center hole has splines to slide over shafts splines to turn it. I see no bolts or screws so it was proably made on and not removable. Any suggestions. Glad you resolved your problem. Good video. Thanks for posting.

Buy yourself the $7 bearing and just replace that part instead of the entire $170 assembly. This bearing gets water on it after the main tub seal fails over years and allows water to seep down the shaft and pool onto the one main bearing. I posted a video with details on how to do it. Thanks for posting.

Our washer (GTWN2800D1WW) was only a couple of years old when the motor/inverter was taken out from a lightening strike. That was replaced. Ever since it sounded like a freight train during the spin cycle. It always made little noises since it was the older style turn and pull knob to start. It got to the point during the spin, which it sounded like it was spinning a lot faster than before, it wanted to dance across the floor. I adjusted the leveling legs a few times. I thought maybe they put the wrong motor in. At one point I heard a grinding sound during agitation, but it stopped some. Any suggestions on what could be the problem. We just got a new washer because I was ready to throw the old one out the door. lol

You showed the step of brushing off a part with a wire brush, and then skipped the part where you removed it - in the next frame it was gone. How to you remove that part (the "split ring" I think?).

Hi Steve , I have a problem to remove the agitator , my washer is a bit older then yours in the video , same maker and same thing , I have maybe a few model before . Anyway my basket move freely in the tub , look like it is not in the place that's way I would like to pull out the agitator to see what's looks like under it . How can I remove the agitator ? Do you have any video ? I saw one video before same as my washer but I didn't understand how you took it out , did you pull ? In the video you replace the old agitator with the new one and different shape .Thank you Steve or anyone can sand a video to help me .

I am getting a bad grinding noise during wash and spin cycle. I have not taken the machine apart. I do feel a wobbly motion in the pulley when the belt is removed. If it turns out that the shaft and drive tube assembly is bad, can bad parts in the assembly be replaced?

Replaced the shaft which was clearly broke. Now the washer walks across the floor, which it wasn't doing before. Any suggestions?
