Please do keep up with the health updates; gives those of us that have yet to experience thru hiking ideas on what to expect and what to do about it. Safe travels, Frozen!
I appreciate the candor about how you feel about the snow. I also like the health update. Thanks for bringing us along and being a North Easter I love seeing the PCT.
Hey Frozen. Don't forget, YOU ROCK!! Sending you huge support from over here in UK. You got this brother. Stay safe.
Friday Health Updates, yes keep them going. It's good for both you and your family to know how you're doing! Your family is supporting you 110%, I loved the fact that you said your step-daughter has a mark on a map where you are and moving it along. If that's not support nothing is!!! Keep up the great work!!! -dave
One thing I (weJB and I ) always appreciated about you is your awareness of travel conditions and upbeat attitude and not get defeated. Appreciate your health updates
Thanks for taking the time to share your hike with us.
Rattlesnakes are one thing... But don't forget to keep away from the jumping cholla cactus!
Excellent production values. Please keep showing us the beauty of the places. Hint/Hack: I keep my Sit Pad folded in half in the back stretch pocket to protect whatever's just behind it inside. Go Steelers.
Please continue Friday updates! Your kindness and consideration to other hikers (snake warning) is to be commended! Your positive attitude will get you through. Praying for your safe passage through the ice and snow!
If tent site is not level, for the slip-sliding sleeping pad, get an 1/8" closed cell pad and lay it between your inflatable sleeping pad and the floor of the tent.... everything then stays put and you don't wind up sliding downhill. The pad also doubles as a sit pad. Mine was from Outdoor Vitals and weights 2.5 ounces. Gossamer Gear also has one.
Placing a sit-pad under air mattress helps if no 1/8" pad is carried.
You’re doing great Frozen. My husband and I watched your full AT series beginning to end and ready to watch and support you through the PCT series as well.
I’m so enjoying your videos, Frozen. Thank you for sharing your journey. I was really touched by your thoughts about being kind to those who are first timers or struggling. I’ve been on the end of some critical comments from cocky hikers, usually about my pack (Osprey) which I love and I love my gear but they’d say “that’s way to heavy, you need to go ultralight or you’ll never make it here”. Those comments stick with you for days, months and have a real impact. It was wonderful to hear you be thoughtful and supportive. ❤😊
Your videos are a breath of fresh air. You're a good soul. I wonder what that dude who said you'd never make it out of Georgia on the AT thinks now? You're killing it man, really enjoying these PCT videos.
I think you should continue the health updates, we are invested in your journey. 14 miles before 11:30 is just crazy!!
I’m liking your choices of music for the videos
Awesome stuff!!! So excited for what’s to come.
Go Frozen "YOU ROCK"
Gotta love moms for adding a little exra love in care packages. Your going to be a rockstar at camp if your with a group tonight!
Love the videos! Keep up the good work, and keep hiking! I also like the health updates. God bless!
I'm pretty sure I had that same burger when I stopped at Paradise Valley Cafe. I had a beer or a few too but all I had to do was walk back to the trail and camp for the night. Keep the updates coming, you rock!
Awesome job on your videos! I really feel like I'm out there with you, minus the blisters! 😜 I like that you show us a few of your daily activities other than just hiking, talking, showing the scenery. Nice concerned move to stay by the rattlesnake to warn that other hiker. They were pretty careless to hike in rattlesnake country with headphones on. 😱
You’re doing a great job with your videos, they look/sound great and are interesting!
I think the Friday Health Updates are great and not only important for us but also for yourself. Keep them up
Hey Frozen…I was at PVC and Idyllwild this past Thursday. Got to give some hikers a ride. Wish I could have seen you. Keep on keeping on. You’re doing pretty good for an East Coast dude. 😂
“REV” - PCT Class of 2020.
Another amazing video of your epic journey. Cant wait for the next one.
I like the updates because I think it is important for people to see what can happen on trail and how it is dealt with. It is amazing that your mom put in some cookies for you. Nothing says love like things you get from home. You are doing a fantastic job and I love that you are always uplifting others especially after a few said you would not even complete the AT. They ate them words for sure! Positive vibes going out with Outdoor Adventures and I love to see it!
I think LostBoy is coming up behind you. He’s doing CYTC. Good luck on your hike!
Loving this PCT hike! I was bummed when you finished your AT uploads.... what , 5 years ago? Anyways, one comment- Like you did for your AT uploads, it would be great if every once in a while you pulled out a paper map and showed where you were, are, and going. Fellow W. PA resident here also!
Thanks Jason for sharing your journey. I started following you after watching your Journey of the Soul video. I wanted to shout out appreciation because I enjoy your content as well as the way you approach it. You have a charismatic way of communicating through your videos that makes the viewer feel as though we are right there with you. Anyhow, good luck on the rest of your PCT hike and stay safe! We will be continuing to follow you
He is doing good on his miles. Happy trails 👣 🌻
Doing great !!!
What a fabulous meal at the Paradise cafe! And cookies!
Good stuff brother, keep on rollin!
6300 feet? That's higher than most of the AT. Keep it up!
One thing I miss from your AT hike is your Jezza man moments🤣
Man, that burger looked like the best thing ever, and I'm just watching from home with a full belly. Great to see you enjoying life out there!
Stellar edit of trail scenes with the music. 👍. You're making great miles.
You said "ice axe." I heard "eye sacks."
Yeah, it's been a long week.
Yes, I love the Friday health update. :P
Loved that music section 😊
Hey Frozen! Great to see you again on another thru-hike! I watched your entire AT trip and I will follow along with this one. Glad to see you are using your head on health and safety. I thru-hike as well…vicariously thru you. Haha!!🤣🤣
Ooof. I had a pair of those same superfeet and that lining didn't even last a weekend trip for me.
The pacing of videos is perfect!
You are kicking ass, Finally caught up with the videos. Be safe my friend.
dude, just wanted to say, thanks for the quality! Gorgeous for these landscape shots! I know it takes way longer to upload, so thanks.
Checked every hour and a half today for the new video ❤
You rock frozen, you rock!
Super Feet "Hike Support" insoles are my go-to. Very structured. They would never cause the problems seen in your shoes here.
Those are my favorite as well
You’ll be fine in the snow. Other hiker’s have made a path. They had spikes on. Great hike. Like the views.
After my first attempt at an overnight i did have problems with my pad slipping down. The internet told me to put dots of silicon on my pad or to get a rubber mesh mat for like a sink counter. Its like the backpacking gods told you that someone needed this help, and i sure did lol. Ty
Beautifully hike be well
Thanks for sharing, up dates r good to know for all us future thru hikers.
These videos have been great, love the music you have been choosing this thru hike. Wishing you good health on your adventure!
As for unlevel tent sites:
Put your pack (front side down) under your pad. I do this on level sites to elevate my feet and help with the swelling. You can even stuff your footbox inside your pack if there’s high condensation too.
Thanks for sharing your adventure. Hope you have many, happy trails ahead.
Keep with the health updates. Enjoying this. I’m 68 and feeling like I missed out. So you and others let me see things I would not otherwise see
Good on ya, Frozen! Hike safely and well.
Cacti thorns will be a pain for the whole first third of California!
nice leveling technique i will have to remember that. 2nd rattler! / guy i followed last year did a weekly health update, people really like that i think it is a good idea. more choppers flowers and tons of great views, so nice to be on the pct with you, looking forward to the snow scenes !!
Travelinbeat? I think that's his name.
@@FrozensAdventures ha ! !yes exactly! ps he's the one i left the note for at tehachapi
Love the tip.
I like the updates. Keep on truckin
Great job on the videos dude....👍
YOU ROCK
You should practice some knees over toes guy exercises! The knees over toes calf raises, and tibialis raises could help tremendously with your Achilles pain and knee pain! I had strained my soleus, which is the muscle directly in front of your Achilles tendon and those exercises helped big time.
You inspire.
Yuck Tule Springs. Lots of Iron smells like sulfur. By the looks of it, you stayed at mm159.3, but not sure. Another nice video.
At my age you wouldn't be able to do a Friday health update because it would take all day. LOL!
I love the Friday health updates! Where you are is where I started my backpacking career. Up and down San J a bunch a times. Up San G a bunch o times. That’s a beautiful area. It’s where I decided I would never use an inflatable pad cuz of the thorns. Frozen! You’re doing amazing and I’m sure the snow was no problem. You’re in shape and hell!! It snows in PA, no? When you climb out of Idylwild you go by Tahquitz Rock and through Saddle Junction before you head up San j. Good stuff there sir. I used to camp in little round and regular round valleys all the time. Beautiful little piece of SoCal!
Hey! I know a good way to get a flat lay on uneven terrain😁. I guess you can’t hang a Blackbird on scrub bushes😁.
Be careful out there and most of all… HAVE FUN!!
Take care.
NQU
Superfeet inserts are either great for your feet or not. I have flat feet and used them for a couple years. I didn't care for them in my actual hiking shoes. Something about the heel density bugged my heels. Liking the vids!
We use duct tape on those little cactus splinters. It works great and you can pull out a bunch at once instead of one at a time :)
Good tip, thank you, I’ll try that the next time I screw up.
In the desert, ants smell like ammonia.
Try scar tape , its as amazing as you are.
Random dabs of silicone on the bottom of your pad will keep it from ever moving around as well.
Bro your doing awesome. Kicking a@# frozen. Your footage is incredible great videos. Try LMNT electrolytes they are awesome great flavors you won't be disappointed.
Yes we love LMNT out here! You can instantly feel yourself focus again. I reached out to them to see if they would sponsor the hike I enjoyed it so much.
I was curious if you take any multi vitamins. Your doing an awesome job stay strong. ✌
I'm taking a multi one a day. Also fish oil and iron pill. Hard to get greens out trail.
@@FrozensAdventures That's awesome keep up the good work be careful.
Try LMNT. It blows mio out the water. lol literally
Awesome video. How are you not getting sun burned?
He has a sun hoodie.
You are doing great! Thanks for awesome videos. Be safe stay strong!!
Did Tule Spring water taste as terrible for you? Memorable as the foulest source on the entire trail.
Two days ago in Northern Alabama a Copperhead just missed biting my wife. I was a few steps behind her.
Stay positive but remind the other hikers that they probably won’t make it out of Georgia!😂
