    Thanks so much for this guide. I'm new to AH: LCG, just started playing The Dunwich Horror with "Asham" Pete and my ass was handed to me so much that I've decided to start over. I hope Rex serves me better.

      I had to just look up Scavenging, as I haven't played Survivor decks all that much as yet. I've just been creating a Rex deck for an up-coming stand-alone, and went with the same as you but with Dodge instead of Scavenging. I've always found Dodge as a great help, usually played by the Guardian player [not me]: I feel it's a bit like a Ward of Protection against enemies; it certainly helps to give you a chance to do one more thing before dealing with that enemy.

      @@mrSpaceman2001 I've never had a problem with enemies as Rex but getting to reuse Finger Printing Kit and Flashlight is amazing. Use them up and replace them only to just put them back into your hand. Also using Necronomicon for pips only to put it back into your hand later is real fun.

    Rex, Elusive, Dr Milan Christopher, Higher Education - it is a pretty taboo heavy build. I agree with you that new players should play with the cards as printed and then switch. That switch, for this deck, is going to be a mighty big change! Why not just make a 'taboo build' by adding Machete?

    9:10 In another example of Justin having a 6:25 Survivor-caveman-"Lucky-good,-Lucky-go-in", "Look What I Found!" is also a Fortune card, and thus ineligible for Rex.

    Q about Strange Solution, when I have 2 copies, and I identified 1 copy during scenario - it means I can upg one card (for 4XP), since I could gain only 3XP during 1st scenario I have to wait for more XPs. In next scenario I can identified another copy to be prepared for future UPG for total8XP. Am I right?

    Using this in Carcosa with a couple changes..
    Dropped Maleson for Logical Reasoning,
    Swapped Strange Solution(s) for Archaic Glyphs..
    Which of the 3 Archaic Glyphs (3) might be the most useful? - he’s paired with Akachi (from her video)

    • @PlayingBoardGames
      @PlayingBoardGames  3 года назад

      Guiding Stones is helpful if you want even more clue acceleration, but Prophecy Foretold can be good to allow Rex a bit of independence to take pressure off Akachi for turns where she has her own monsters to deal with.

    Can this deck play alone? I mean it almost has no means to defeat enemies. How can survive any yellow character single player?

    • @PlayingBoardGames
      @PlayingBoardGames  3 года назад

      There are a few tricks that yellow investigators can use to fight or avoid monsters. You can look at I've Got A Plan, Strange Solution and Mind Over Matter. Those are just from core and Dunwich. There are also some other tricks like Disc of Itzamna.

    • @amsfountain8792
      @amsfountain8792 3 года назад

      @@PlayingBoardGames Yes, i used alll of them and could barely survive in the midnight mask scenario. As soon the hunter appeared i was running for my life. It dint helped that the Ghoul Priest came next. Problem is that weak enemies like cultist make you spend some of this cards before, it makes very difficult to fight bigger enemies later. It seems to me that yellow characters can only be played in multiplayer.

    • @danieladam1545
      @danieladam1545 3 года назад +1

      @@amsfountain8792 I agree on the opinion that they have a hard time to deal with every enemy they are facing.
      But I also think that it gets very much of an easier job when having a greater card-collection.
      Also when you play solo, you do not necessarily need cards like e.g. Deduction because there are 1 to 2 clues at locations.
      So you can focus on dealing with enemies. Even a Knife can kill and with 5 off-yellow cards you can boost your damage and deal with them in a more absolute way instead of evading.

    Seeking Answers?

      @mrSpaceman2001 2 года назад

      I went with a Seeking Answers in my own Rex deck; I'll have to wait an see how that goes. My idea is that Rex can move ahead, revealing two locations, then save time by using Seeking Answers from the last location. I also feel that this card would work well with Barricade: keep the enemies at bay, but get the locations from underneath them.

      I don't think I am missing anything. 31 cards. None are permanents.
      Deck limit is 30 if I'm not mistaken. 🤭😇
      So which card is not meant to be in the deck?
      edit: Yes it says "30 cards (33 total)" at the top, but count the cards yourself. This number is wrong. I'm not a wiz at maths, but the deck in this video is the exact same deck in the database.
      Oh wait...
      I'm dumb. Rex's card is counted in that lot. There's my mistake. When deck building I never list the cards that come with the investigator as they don't count towards the deck limit. They are auto includes.

    As a paying patron, one of the major issues this channel has is that it's fundamentally really hard to watch on a phone. The text is unreadable. I don't have a solution, but I'm guessing that 50-70% of users are using their cellphones to watch the content.

    • @PlayingBoardGames
      @PlayingBoardGames  Год назад

      That is a tough thing to solve without each slide just being individual images of the cards. I'll look at seeing if there's a way to better show cards in the future, but our informational videos showcasing cards aren't really designed to best be viewed on phones in their current state.
