I lost my dad not too long ago there, exercise has played a huge role in my grief, it’s a great sense of accomplishment to finish that workout and it’s a way to filter everything that’s gone on in your mind in any given day. Good man Rory
The only time i ever saw you was on your video sketches so i never thought about the man behind the comedy. This is the real Rory talking about real issues. I can relate to what your saying. My head can drop at times like many others. Exercise can help. Sometimes it's the getting out and doing it is the hard part. Sorry about your friend. To you Rory i wish you well 👍
100% Rory, struggled with depression for a long time. Once I swapped drink for exercise it made a huge difference, now workout twice a day, 6 days a week and it keeps me on a good level. The routines helps as well as the serotonin boost
@@davidspiers1747 100%, booze is a depressant. Exercise gives you a boost of serotonin, so it’s like swapping a depressant for an antidepressant. Yes you will naturally lose weight cutting out booze, but also the exercise helped obviously. I went from 15 1/2 stone to 11 stone in a year and a half….
For me its the opposite, once I stopped drinking and starting with the gym my life fell apart, was only when I got back on the sauce things started to look brighter for the first time in a very long time
@@Podders1991 course not pal well I stopped drinking was off it for a year went to the gym 4 times a week and ate right, that's when everything fell apart man, was only when I got back on the drink life started to get better again
Fair play to ya .. for all the skit & messing which I enjoy too much of myself your like a lot us that need watch out for our tipping points .. this is completely normal we all need some balance in our life
Great advice here from Rory. I do it every day . Addicted to it really. And u don't need to go in heavy either. A good walk does the trick especially if you can include a few hills on the walk. He's right about the booze as well but I find in moderation it's fine especially if u keep to the exercise.
Love this guy, funny as faaarrrk with a heart as big as Pharlap’s! (Pharlap was an Australian race horse that couldn’t be beat for all you feckers that are as thick as two bricks). Just joking, someone had to throw a bit of levity into the mix because Rory is being serious…..god love him!
Rory means well, and i enjoyed many of the videos. But they are conflicted and confusing. they really are. there is a big emphasis on drinking almost to the point of being a central theme. and a heck of a lot of videos isolating and ostracising certain types of people. that guy on every bus. that guy in every bar, that guy in every GAA club, that guy in the shop Etc etc. whilst at the same time blowing and humble bragging about himself and his family and his life. and then these occasional pieces about mental health. and thats a good thing But the conflict doesn’t sit right. booze is absolutely brutal for mental health. it’s horrific short term and long term for many people. Not for everyone, but certainly for anyone with mental health issues, and it also brings on mental health issues for a whole lot of people. And isolating individuals is probably the worst thing you can do to somebody, and calling out unusual/eccentric/odd characters like Rory does will for sure cause others to distance them and isolate them further. so many of the videos are about pushing the more isolated people in communities even further down. it doesn’t sit right, and a lot of the videos are not matching with his comments that he is a mental health advocate. also there are people in the comments, reaching out to Rory, as he has announced himself as a mental health advocate, and they are ignored. maybe something can be changed around here Rory. Thanks for consideration.
It's good to get it. I'm 18, i have took on weights and hiking, took up a good diet and bulking a bit to get some muscle and to look better. It doesn't matter what exersise it is, always get out and get going, all worth it.

Hi mate. I was the same. You just need to find something that works for you exercise wise. I hated exercise and loved getting pissed and eating crap but deep down I was never happy. I found boxing and found the courage to go alone to my local boxing club (it was very scary but I was made to feel really welcome) and then I found my outlet. I now love phys often running 5 miles or more and weight training coupled with a couple boxing sessions when I have time. What I’m saying is mate don’t give up, there’s a life beyond the bottle and it’s great, maybe plan loads in for your weekend that doesn’t involve drinking such as long walks or going to the movies. Stay safe my friend
