the positioning of the chords are identical to scuttlebuttin by SRV but not as fast and in c instead of e, you could play the 7#9 chord in the second octave like the one from foxy lady by hendrix but slide it up to the 8th fret even though I rarely play over a 1 4 5 progression anymore I do often mix blues with trying to play jazz lines, especially with arpeggios or chromatic ideas - the second half of the phrase I turn into a blues idea, it's also a great way to turn something weird like augmented or diminished into something familiar and even soulful I started out playing blues in 83 because it was the easiest for me to figure out (beck page, clapton, hendrix, srv, david gilmore, billy gibbons) - then moved on to rock, prog rock (rush, yes, king crimson, deep purple, boston, journey, van halen) and quit all that while I was a teenager because I had mastered it and classical and jazz fusion was the only thing that interested me, my favorite guitar players all talk about and play similar to coltrane, mccoy tyner (especially holdsworth, mclaughlin, bireli lagrene) and bill evans (especially ralph towner and ted greene)
