I was in tennis sales when the original Prince Vortex line came to market. They were marketing duds and did not sell well until they were marked down to closeout prices. These racquets were part of the downfall of Prince because of their questionable technology. The design was given a staggered hole / grommet drill pattern like a wood racquet because the frames cracked with the standard straight-line grommet / hole design. The staggered grommet design caused the strings to break more frequently because of the sharp angles created when the string left the grommet and merged into the flat stringbed. Sometimes technology works and sometimes it doesn't.

I still have mid plus- restrung it with a black widow/ TNT hybrid. Hits really nice.
Would love to see the specs from your Wilson Baiardo machine on these old school frames. Can you add it to the future videos?
1 have one of those that was used by Yanina Wickmayer. Do you think this is still worth something?
I still has a Vortex MP which I brought it in around 199?. Very expensive, cost around $300 at that time, and it looks fabulous.
Did they make any good 98 inch rackets in the 90s
It came with a VHS tape to hype/explain the technology
Cool racket! Just out of curiosity, why aren't rackets made in Taiwan anymore?
Because everything is now made in China!
I had one back in the days. Strings broke very fast.
String it with 18 g soft poly. 54 lbs It will play well with control and power
It depens on what type of control you need but maybe!
@@AlexTennisChannel to keep it off the fence and create spin
@@juju-rt8ek yeah it creates a lot of spin that’s for sure
@Alex Tennis not as much fun as a players racquet. Something to be said for some of these old racquets.
I wonder how good this would play if it was freshly strung...

I broke my friends racket stringing this; hehe but prince refunded him cause so many people were having issues.
