This feels like the beginning is the age old question "Why do we suffer". Like other Ren songs he starts out with the personal and then takes it global. By the end it seems like he's saying a lot of what we suffer globaly is brought on by are own actions. But in both personal and global, If we choose to ignore the wisdom that can be mined from suffering, we are walking into " a self made Armageddon".

Graphically it is intense... it imposes itself, it enters through the eyes without asking for permission imposing itself through the color and brightness of the graphics and typographic size, and delivers the message without excuses... So glad you finally heard this! It really is like 5 songs in one, but I think it's the perfect choice as the introductory song on his latest album, Sick Boi. In case you didn't know, the video Eden that you watched was played at the very end of the (money/riddle) Game that Ren hosted up to the launch of the album, so it makes perfect sense that there's a crossover theme. The whole album revolves around the many ways one can be sick or ill. IMO this song is coming from the place you've talked about (being very sick and angry/confused at those who inspire religion), but more specifically being 33 and looking at 13 years of life spent suffering and being unsure when you're going to die. In a bed where you never deep rest, I can imagine thinking of someone else who died at 33. I think he's comparing and thinking of his own "sins." Then, like many philosophers, thinking how his own little life mirrors society as a whole. He ends the song reminding everyone of the 7 biggest traps that you might also regret.
It's not six years old..... It came out with his last album, the album that charted number 1 in the U.K. Although a lot of what he talked about in this song he has mentally moved passed. If you find the time you should react to troubles, it's a little more up to date on how he has come to terms, physically, mentally, and spiritually. This is one of my favourites. Ren is Welsh, speaks it fluently. His struggle with health is laid bare here. The only song that fully describes it is his new one, ‘Troubles’, but this one conveys more emotion. Ren, as you well know, has a complicated relationship with religion. I agree, he excels at putting words together.
