  • We stayed in Niederau, Austria for a week early March 2022, the weather was good blue skies the snow good in the morning but getting slushy in the afternoon, but this is a low resort, the resort is lovely, very picturesque, especially the skiing through the forrest sections, some good runs here but albeit a little small an experienced skier will have skid every run by lunchtime, but its only a 10 minute ski bus to the centre of the Tyrol valley, which is expansive and has something for everybody, great reds and blacks with long runs and scenic gondolas and chair lifts back up, the valley links together well so you can have a good mountain adventure. the bars and restaurants are of great value and very atmospheric, good food and great apparel spritzers.
Ski level, I'm an experienced skier of a good level and I would say it's better aimed at the good intermediate and experienced skier to make full use of the terrain, from a family perspective, if you have young children on a first time out, its not the best for beginners and novices. You really have the baby blue slopes at the foot of the mountain which are short button lift slopes, straight into hardy red and blacks higher up the mountain. But on the plus side it will push them quicker, you just don't want to put them off. Tyrol offers a good family/kid ski park that the kids loved with ice tunnels and speed guns.
Good for an intermediate family, but if this is your first family ski trip id look more to Andorra, Soldeu or Cervinia/Passo Tonale in Italy from my experience, great resorts for the first ski trips.
