It’s going to take me forever to find those kinds of variations for red. First scavenging turned up mostly Christmas items. Not the direction that I want to go. Love your page. It’s so fun watching you create. TFS
This is such a fun idea ... love how it came out & looking forward to the next pages. At first when you had the long stem thistle looking flower on the page I kept hoping you were going to put the fish vase on the page with the thistle coming out of the mouth ... but it came out so cute with what you ended up doing anyway. Thankx again ... very fun to watch!
i've always loved your style of collage Cat - you really went above and beyond on this page - such wonderful goodies all over lol - thanks for the inspiration xx
I created a 4x4 inch book for this project, knowing that I prefer to work bigger, but thought I would enjoy a challenge. As I am watching this video---I am second guessing myself and thinking that a 4x4 is not going to be big enough to hold everything and this girl likes to load up a page...so I may have to rethink this idea. Maybe I will work on a couple books at the same time...I haven't decided. But you have so many ideas I didn't even think about- like the charm on a paperclip- so adorable!!!
So much fun! I’ll probably do backgrounds for a couple months as I accumulate focus items. It was so fun so “rejoin” the world today and this video (I was without power following a storm, and boy, it is such a cut off experience). I just love the little size of the book...it’s not intimidating for a newbie.
Thanks so much for this video! I have made glue books before with magazine images, but what you do is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to try some of your awesome techniques! Just amazing have a wonderful day sweetheart💗💜💗
Thank you so much Cat, I really really love ❤️ this double page, it’s really really stunning and gorgeous too. I really really enjoyed watching you create this. And I’m really looking forward to seeing what I can come up with. Please stay safe and well xxx Mags
I love your red pages. I just finished mine. I haven't been on Facebook nor Instagram since October of 2020 and I am enjoying the break. However, I did post on Pinterest on my page called Book Of Colors.
Thanks so much, Carla. I apologize - I had given you my Instagram name... 🙄 Your red page is awesome and playful! I love everything about it, especially the mug of hot chocolate and the crayon! 😃
I LOVE this!!! I love the ladybug and the tea bag tag... we're on the same page it seems, cuz I do assemblage art as well and ALWAYS include something that moves. I hope I don't embarrass myself when I ask this... is there a list of what colors come when?
Great video! i enjoyed the surprise of not knowing when or what color! I bought your kit and have a question about the booklet. I have 12 4"x4" pages on one side of the staples and 12 on the other. So there will be more than 13 two-page spreads. Are we gluing pages to each other? Thank you again for the year-long trip!
Thanks, Carla. I think making it a surprise is a fun way to do it, too! I opened the staples and removed 5 pages from the center of the book and then re-closed the staples. I had talked about it in one of the earlier videos, but I should mention it again for anyone else who missed it. Gluing pages together won’t be necessary. Happy creating! 😊
Merci Cat! C est toujours très plaisant de te regarder et cette fois je m y mets. Désolée mon anglais n est pas top même si j arrive à te comprendre! Bises
This project looks definitely interesting a chance to use up scraps and hoarded collections haha I am a big fan of color and texture so this looks like it would be a lot of fun... What kind of paper did you use for the pages in your book? Is there 12 full pages one for each month of the year?
Yes, it’s definitely fun! I bought my book pre-made. If you want to make one the size mine is, cut 7 sheets of printer paper to 8x4 inches and fold them in half, to make 4x4 pages. This will be enough for the whole year. You can use sturdy card stock, a file folder, etc. to make your cover (same size). Then either stitch the pages to the cover, or tie elastic cord snugly around the spine of the cover and slip the pages underneath the cord. Then you can decorate that cover, or make one from canvas. Happy creating! 😊
That tissue you used for the front title page is the same tissue that was wrapped around the kit I ordered as a gift for my daughter!! Did you by any chance put your business card inside?? I didnt want to open it to see. Im so glad the first color came out before her birthday so I was able to fill a red envelope full of all kinds of bits and pieces to give her an idea of stuff to collect. I also included color envelopes with every color of rainbow and pink and brown with some things I had been collecting as well. And I had a vintage stationary box with a rainbow on front that says " A Gift for You" so she will have a place to keep everything together!! So I give her the rainbow for her birthday ....i hope she likes it!
@@CatHand I am so looking forward to the coming year and that this is a project where we do together! Mixed media is just so in her wheelhouse as an artist she just doesn't know it yet because I am not arty and not so good at explaining it! Thanks again for such a lovely little kit and the gorgeous packaging and prompt service!! You ROCK!!!
Mine is already done... and I'm looking forward to knowing the next color! I'd like to share my page, where can I do it? So much fun doing this, thank u cat

Me too, but we have a whole month to look, which will make this project even more fun.

Will the thick embellishments not cause trouble when sticking on the next pages?
Your pages are just lovely!
Thanks, Mariana. There may be a few lumps, but I don’t expect it to be a problem. 😊
New sub here. Beautiful whimsy mix media! Xx

I think printer paper is too thin
Remember, Sue, you’ll be gluing lots of papers on it, so it will become sturdy enough. But you can, of course, use any kind of paper you choose.
That tissue you used for the front title page is the same tissue that was wrapped around the kit I ordered as a gift for my daughter!!

I didn't buy that book. Can I just make one
Absolutely! If you want it to be the size mine is, cut 7 sheets of printer paper to 8x4 inches and fold them in half, to make 4x4 pages.
