Young man, I want to thank you for showing me that simple trick your Dad showed you when you were a kid. I’m 82 years old and I was always in a big hurry to get one of my burners to work properly. The hole as you showed me was blocked and very little gas was coming out so it was the second biggest gas burner on my stove which I always used when cooking. Because of it being somewhat blocked, because the flame was so small I rarely used it. Only as a small warmer. But now since you told me how to fix it, the flame is so high and strong I can’t believe it My couldn’t believe how strong the flame is now. Thank you so much. A young man showing an 82 year old such a great trick. Plus I’m a very handyman and can fix many things. Thank you again.

Those "quick little fixes" our fathers showed us while growing up!...My Dad's gone now, but "those little things" he showed me growing up live in my heart so true to this day. WD-40! on hingers, stuck screws, window tracks, etc.../ Vacuuming the cooling air wrack under the fridge from pet hair, the dryer vent, the furnace filters, how to use a level, a saw, a paint brush, wallpaper removal, wallpaper installation, how to fix a hole in sheetrock, fix a hole in a closet (hollow) door, and so much more. Sure we can look at a RUclips now for most of anything and that's great, but I have my Father's voice in my heart guiding me along! I could cry now when I remember back in the early seventies when he made me help him around the house. I couldn't go and play with my friends all the time. And it made me pretty mad at my dad. But now I see and hold the very value and importance of spending time with my dad and learning so much, so much that I would not have right now, if I spent only my time growing up with my friends. My message to young people today, is to spend time, important time learning from your parents and or your grandparents you won't have them forever. And the treasures that are passed down from them, to you, you can pass on to your children and your grandchildren. Sometimes those simple things but very hard things are what make life so enriching, so important, so beautiful and so precious. Cathy, grew up in Rochester, NY. Great post on the stove! My husband fixed our stove just now with this!

I totally agree, I also grew up in Rochester NY. Edison Tech graduate, the old one on Clifford Av not the new one, my first job was at Two Guys, on Hudson Av. We really had to be handy to live under our harsh winters, sometimes ourselves was all we had. I miss our hometown back in those 1970 s days, I do, good times. Now married almost 40 years have lived most of them in Las Vegas.

Thanks for walking down memory lane with me Cathy! Your comment brought a tear to my eyes remembering the times I spent with my grandmother. I also wish I'd have paid more attention to her lessons but I'm realizing my mind retained more than I thought possible and I'm so grateful for that! Granny would love to crochet at night and this year my 33 year old daughter made each of us something she'd crocheted for Christmas. I asked her when she learned to crochet and she said I used to watch great grandma at night and it just kinda came naturally to me 🥰 It's almost like she's still here....a piece of her will live on forever in our hearts 💕
Thanks again for sharing your precious thoughts.

So very very true I was eight in the sixties when I lost my dad but he and the my mum who is still with us taught myself and brother how to do so many things like this ,now the majority just call out at sometimes great expense the trades person when I moved in to a council flat many many years ago I got friendly with a neighbour and her and her partner were rage on the phone to some one , when they came of the phone I asked what was wrong and he said they had three light bulbs go and was told by the council that they don't come out for that she said we've now got to pay an electric man her words not mine to come out how I laugh at them both I said do you not keep spare bulbs at home they said no the council didn't give them any I told them what to buy giving her any empty bulb box of mine and I'd do it they were done in seconds ,just how thick are some people these things should really be taught in schools instead of waste of time lessons like swimming parents can teach them that , and r,e,

Just want to add my comment of thanks to all the others here. I was down to ONE burner this afternoon!!!! With much frustration, I turned to youtube AND facebook marketplace, where I started the process of looking for a new/used stove... but after watching your video, I tried the ole needle in the hole trick.. and violaaaaaaaa.... I now have FOUR working burners again. Why didn't I think of this before?? LOL Thanks man, you saved me some money and got my stove back up and running again. Much appreciation!!

I was able to figure out that problem some time ago. Thanks for showing how simple the fix actually is. PS: When testing to see if you have actually cleared the ignition passage, you must replace the cover plate. Othersise it won't work.

That is something in the past I may have just had to call the repair man for. Thank you! That big front burner was hit or miss. There was rusty dust around the inside of the burner and I used a paper clip to get the hole. I did also notice that inner lip of the black cap had rust and corrosion which probably caused some gas to escape over the burner slots as well. I tool a wire wheel to those caps and top of the aluminum burner assembly. Between those 2 things it is working great now.

Thanks for sharing, however I still had the problem of not lighting even after cleaning the nodule. I was so frustrated that I put everything back together and left and got takeout. Later I forgot that the stove didn't work and I turned it o and viola it worked. Come to find out the newer stoves(2017) have a safety mechanism(to prevent premature burning or 🔥) so you have to put the metal face plates/covers back on the eyes. Then and only then will it light. Hope u can incorporate this with your next video.
