I saw Eric McCormack in person in Toluca Lake. I made a complete fool of myself gushing over his incredible talent and telling him how much I love him. He could NOT have been more charming and graceful. He even asked me my name and said goodbye to me when he left the restaurant. What a great man and a great talent. I ALSO saw Debra Messing in Los Angeles after seeing Eric and could not believe it. SHE could not have been more charming and lovely too. God bless them!
omg i would love to meet eric. ur so lucky. i haf a similar experience. i met bruce cambell at his BUBBA HO TEP premiere. i froze and then just rambled on yet he was so nice and awesome
@F L yeah, it really was. I took it for granted that TV would always have great shows because that's what I saw on TV as a kid in the '90s and early '00s. There are good shows today but none that rise up to the level of fun and appeal of those older ones.
Blerk Snarfgut The sitcoms were better then but drama series is crazy good nowadays though I guess none of those shows would exist if it weren’t for The Sopranos.
@@blerksnarfgut2766 yes!! I thought it was my nostalgia making me soft spot for these old shows but yeah .. they really were just way better than anything on now
John Barrowman was up for the role of Will Truman, but didn't get it because he was "too straight", and the role went to Eric McCormack. Barrowman is bisexual in real life, while McCormack is straight.
I've always thought that Canadians hold a special place in American entertainment, in television and movies (and for that matter the news too -- Peter Jennings). Eric fits perfectly in that distinctive group. Bravo to one fine human being.
Indeed! These were the days when episode-submissions really mattered, and Debra Messing knocked it outta the park (in season 4’s ‘The Kids Stay Out of the Picture’). It seemed like everyone was getting a turn to win (ie Sarah Jessica Parker winning the next year for the series finale ep of SATC), until you realize Jane Kaczmarek never won… which should have happened this same year Eric won, instead of a second win for Patricia Heaton (who rightfully won the previous year with perhaps the best ep ever of Raymond). Jane still holds the record for most losses in Lead Comedy Actress (0-7, which is kind of a win of a different kind I guess).
Can i just say that there's two celebrities from Toronto, Canada still has success they are Eric McCormack from Will and Grace and Aubrey "Drake" Graham from Degrassi
All the stars on WILL & GRACE -- McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, Megan Mullally -- won an Emmy. It is only one of four shows in which all the principal cast won Emmys. The other three are ALL IN THE FAMILY, GOLDEN GIRLS, and EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND.
Marvin Melhorn uh, scratch that! Not all the principal characters on RAYMOND won. Peter Boyle was nominated 7 times for Supporting Actor, but he lost thrice to his co-star Brad Garrett, twice to David Hyde Pierce (FRASIER), and once each to Peter McNichol (ALLY MCBEAL) and Sean Hayes (WILL & GRACE).
Marvin Melhorn But luckily Peter already won an Emmy years before for a Guest Actor performance on The X Files so technically, all the principal Raymond actors were Emmy winners too. :)

@@kevinmodernfamily20 - Youngest Primetime Emmy male, yes. He was 15 at this point but a 14 year old female has won, making her the youngest. If we're including Daytime Emmys, well, lots of kids younger than 15 have won those because they have a Younger Actor/Actress in a Soap category as well as Children's Performer category.

It's so crazy that so many landmark shows were on at the same time

@@Michael-xi9nb yes, the drama genre on TV is definitely in a current golden age. Very true.

One of the most articulate and sincere acceptance speeches I've ever heard! Very well-deserved too.
Loved how it was Sean who screamed loudest when Eric's name was called!
Was Sean the 1 who yelled out "u go girl" when Eric made it to the podium? Tacky!
Aw what he said about his wife, so sweet, and they’re still together, that's how u do it folks
I love it that he won!! I want to see so much more from him
"That sexy canadian " ha ha love Kim catrall
Kim’s also Canadian (from BC) so there’s a real sense of pride in our countrymen getting these kinds of honours
Great actor and comedian, as the rest of the cast. Will and Grace surpassed anyone's expectations.
The first I ever saw him was in Travelers and it's cool to see his history.
Erik was always been amazing
A very deserved award! He won for the episode "Low in the mid eighties".
Javi Segovia i love those episodes

@@jwelch5742 John Barrowman was HOT in the late 90s. Had the right voice/energy for Will too. But glad Eric got it.
Kim and Kristen looked extremely delighted in the choice!👍🏻
And Kim looked fantastic, even more so than usual.
Pls can we talk about how gorgeous eric mccormack and sean hayes are??? I love them so much
omg I remember this was the first major award show post 9/11 and everyone showed up in business/business casual

Damn such good TV shows back then!! We took it all for granted!!
Eric McCormack has great acting on Will & Grace in season 3.
Did anyone see how many kisses on the lips he was handing out? Geez, why didn't I get one??
Omg! I was looking for this comment!! What's up with the 2000??
I can’t imagine what Derbra Messing was thinking or feeling when she’s the only one left without an emmy. Her turn was 2 years later.

I'm thinking 'Derbra' wasn't disappointed for a second while waiting. Her award was being a well paid working actress.
Eric seeems sooooo kuind and sweet :) love them all, really
My Hero ever and ever and ever
I laughed at every one of those clips. That rarely happens now.
Exactly… now it’s all over processed over produced over saturated fluff.. there was real artistry back then here
Can i just say that there's two celebrities from Toronto, Canada still has success they are Eric McCormack from Will and Grace and Aubrey "Drake" Graham from Degrassi
Will and grace ❤️❤️
After Eric's name was called, it was as if he was saying, "Okay, ladies, who wants a kiss?" ;)
Back when they used to play entire scenes before they read the winner
2:57 Someone in the audience yells out "You Go Girl!"
They said god job will you deaf person
They said good job Will
at home in toronto. bawling.
Hahaha, love ya Eric!
By the applause everyone wanted Frankie or ray to win
Mmhmm, canadian man right there...yum.
i was surprised that Frankie Muniz was nominated that year for his title role on Malcolm in the Middle
+Kevin Haynes
Kevin Haynes that episode he was nominated for was hysterical, it makes total sense he revived it
@Ryan Akwar had he won, he would’ve been one of the youngest Emmy winners in history (he was 15, I think)
lol he hugged Sean and then oops 'i forgot to kiss my wife'
John Barrowman was considered for the role of will but creators thought he looked to straight for the character 😂 what are the odds
Cry harder
I didn't know Eric won an Emmy.

Me, neither.
Kristen Davis was Will’s boyfriend Vince’s best friend in one episode
he just kissin everybody on the mouth?!?!?!?!
Just women
Kim got that kiss! 😉
Ok I feel bad for not knowing he was Candanian lol, I love Eric
Did i just see Ron F**ing Swanson ? :D ! #ParksAndRec
He's megan mullally (karen walker and tammy) husband
Yes i know ! :D
Will Truman is probably the least funny character in the show but Eric McCormack seems to be the funniest in real life!

Frankie Muniz was an incredible young actor
Oh I forget Kim Cattrall is Canadian
I love Eric McCormack but Frankie Muniz should have won just for that amazing Malcolm scene.
Frankie Muniz should've won
I agree, he would've been the youngest Emmy winner in history
@kevinmodernfamily20
That scene alone was award worthy

Horrible horrible category... i can choose one they are too great
