Hybrid Picking Course Outline countryguitaronline.com/countr...
Lesson ID: A0121
This is the first guitar lesson in a series of videos where we’ll be showing y’all how to make your rhythm guitar sound country with hybrid picking. In this lesson, I’ll teach you a really useful hybrid picking pattern that can be applied to a ton of different country songs. This pattern will help get you comfortable using your pick in combination with the middle and ring fingers of your right hand. As we progress through this course, we’ll increase the hybrid picking difficulty and we’ll take a look at several different patterns that sound great in country, bluegrass, and folk music.

Merci !! Très bonne leçon d'arpèges à la guitare !
Very well done, thank you
Thanks man you added some spice to my licks
Awesome teaching! Thanks for posting. Having played a classical guitar for 20 years, I just bought my first time ever acoustic Yamaha. This is a totally different world. Lovely stuff to learn.
Thanks Akif! Classical is a lot of fun also...a style that I would love to learn more about. Hope you can put the country/bluegrass lessons to good use! Thanks for the comment - Devin
Brilliant stuff...Dev shows you how to do it in a great relaxed way.....I love his vids
Yeah, Tony, I just found Devin a day or two ago. I've been lamenting for quite a while that there is little instruction on the web for Country music. Then I find Devin and he seems more than I could have hoped for. I think I've found my home.
Thanks for kind words! I work really hard on the lessons so always great to hear positive feedback. Glad y'all are putting the videos to good use! I'm really excited about this hybrid picking course...should have some cool stuff to work on in the next few weeks and then back to the other courses. Hope y'all have a great weekend. - Devin
Cool!
That's an excellent pattern to start with. Many thanks!
Great lessons
Paul Crooks Crooks thanks Paul!
I just use my thumb and index finger with or without using a wide thumb pick and I have no certain matter if and when I use up and down strumming method is never the same. Willie Nelson says it keeps him out of a rut and that to this day he discovers a new sound and he does the same with chord progressions.
It's just a great challenge to my own mind and fingers. We'll done, it does really works. I jiat got a question to the author, why you dont use fifth string when you playing G chord? The same about C chord as well. Is it any particular reason or its just about your choice (habbit). With best regards, Aleksandr. Patiently waiting for your answer.
Another great lesson here. The song sounded so beautiful with this kind of playing. Hybrid picking pattern! Can’t wait to try it on!!
Awsome
This is excellent, and you are handsome. Good work.
Hi Devin.... would a thumb pick have the same effect as using the flat pick to do this? thanks Karen x
I'm interested in learning all you're country picking
Awesome! Glad you found my videos. Just let me know if you have any questions about the lessons or about countryguitaronline.com. Thanks! - Devin

Hi I Travispick but would this be much more difficult?
thanksssd
Hello do you have a DVD of lessons?
You can stream them all at countryguitaronline.com in the member area. We don't have a DVD just because new lessons keep getting added to Country Guitar Online regularly and we prefer the subscription model like Netflix or Hulu.
Country Guitar Online How much is it? And Can I cancel at any time
