      Thank you Jeff, how this video is old now so surprised to see a comment haha! Gourami's were one of my very first fish as a kid, so underrated and so hardy for many species. Will have to have a tank of them again some day, thinking chocolate and samurai as I've never kept them

      They look pretty sweet and if IF they can tub it all year round WOW!! We don't have a local fish store, the hobby died a death around here 15-20 years ago :( so we have to source everything online sadly, which is very hit and miss! Just took a shipment of 8 skunk cories, down to 5 24 hours later, the water was rank :( (wish these places would use breather bags or much larger bags). Out of interest what Gourami's do you keep? FYI I know we keep saying it but, we really do appreciate your comments and support for our little channel! :)

    Why is Ctenops Nobilis called the “frail gourami”?

    • @Aquadiction
      @Aquadiction  2 месяца назад +1

      They are considered very sensitive to changes in water quality, temperature, and pH, making them more vulnerable and seemingly "frail" compared to hardier fish. I THINIK this is why they got the name, hope that helps bud!

    I just bought 2 beautiful thick clipped gourami, very bold lil guys...who like to hang out in groups of their own kind......

    • @Aquadiction
      @Aquadiction  Год назад +1

      Hi Edward, they are amazing fish, very underrated gourami and an interesting choice. Are they your first gourami? What was your draw to them? Sadly not many people choose this species which is a total shame as they do have some great personalities, and as you said, they like to hang out together, which a lot of the other larger gouramis don't, unfortunately!

      @@Aquadiction hi...I've always had a few gourami, sadly last week my magnificent 4yr old golden gourami passed away, and he was looking at his absolute best...such a shame....
      I've got a stunning pair if Pearl's....and a few lil dwarf gourami in another tank..
      I was actually shopping for a pair of fancy goldfish for my bathroom. Aquarium..I got them but noticed a tank with some handsome deep red gourami I've never heard of...so a pair of thick lipped are now in my community tank, they are not shy...😊I absolutely love them...they share a tank with some neons, 4 scissor tails, 6 ornate tetras..3 coolies...3 panda Corey's and an old but cherished clown loach.....all very peaceful....
      I'm amazed that gourami are overlooked, they are striking...and incredibly graceful....I'll never be without them....

      Ahhh I had them as as teenager and found them incredibly aggressive which is very strange for a gourami and other types I’ve kept over the years but your experience is helpful to know bud! Sorry for your goldfish 😞! In the future once your opaline passes consider pearl as a much more placid alternative mid size gourami, though if you love the blue on the opaline it’s tough to beat!
