    It really amazes me to see how some people can teach! You are a great teacher, and your lesson couldn't go smoother and clearer. I'm following a parallel course on algebra for machine learning purposes and was totally mad at how this part of the topic was taught. Luckily found your channel! Congrats for the nice video and skills!

    I LOVE YOU!
    I've spent two weeks in linear algebra without understanding what was going on.
    I couldn't graph nor even imagine all the things my teacher were trying to teach, so I decided to go on a Quest on RUclips to find help for visualize this stuff.
    And here I am, with the biggest treasure chest in my hands!

And before I came across this video, I watched 3-4 other videos to understand scaler projection and vector projection, but I found them lacking for some or the other reasons. However, this video is perfect, and I love your teaching style. Thank you for creating this.

    10:12 why did we use the angle outside the triangle instead of trying to find the angle on the inside?

    • @mshavrotscanadianuniversit6234
      @mshavrotscanadianuniversit6234  4 года назад +2

      If you used the inside angle (60 degrees) you would not get a negative number which shows you that it is in the opposite direction of vector q.

    Ms. Havrot i think there is a mistake in calling a vector projection instead it should be scalar projection at 2:48

    • @mshavrotscanadianuniversit6234
      @mshavrotscanadianuniversit6234  3 года назад +1

      Yes, you are correct. At 1:42 I emphasize that these are SCALAR projections and then in the last example I said vector projection. My mistake! Of course to be a vector projection all I would have to do is add an arrow to the end of it, but that's not what is there! Thanks for your comment. Thank you so much for this video! Quick question: You write that ON is equal to vector a multiplied by the cosine of theta. In the dot product, you underline with green the cosine and the a, which is the magnitude of vector a, and not just the vector. Does that make any difference for your explanation?
