  • From my experience rear bumpers tend to be a little less complex but most of the same principles apply to the front and rear bumper when wrapping them.

I like watching the CK Wraps videos not because I want to do wrapping or want to be the uneducated critical reviewer. I watch them because all of you treat this like a piece of art, doing and redoing until you reach your own state of expected perfection in the job at hand. How you do this by meticulous attention to detail is worthy of a Six Sigma mentality that is not often found in manual arts. Good enough is often given to the customer and as you have found customers often can't tell they paid more for a bad wrap job than they would have gotten from a reputable wrapper. When all the elements involved in a car wrap come together from quality product manufacturing to quality installation it can only lead to ultimate customer pride in a beautifully done car. Thanks for sharing and a big thumbs up!

Most intuitive wrapping channel no doubt, and this guy is a perfectionist. I got the courage to wrap my own vehicles after watching his tutorials.

With those rust specs you are referring to, companies make sprays called "iron and fallout removers", specifically CarPro IronX, they will dissolve those specs after about 5 minutes of dwelling. I'm an amateur detailer and use it all the time in conjunction with clay. I think a lot of the companies work with businesses for wholesale too. Love the content.

I did my subaru in the same material and I did a wash followed by ironX, follow by another wash, followed by clay bar, and finally, another wash. Only issue I had was dust nibs, but it's hard if you don't have a super clean space to work in. The ironX is crazy to watch. You really see the Iron melt away and the paint is so much better looking. Only rewatching now as I'm about to do my first rewrap (the UV is brutal. Didn't know you needed to protect the wrap or it'll get damaged within about a year.)

Christian.....excellent wrap on that back bumper. Also, I was at Home Depot last Fall, and I found something called a cord foiler. Foil as in stopping. It would be where instead of plugging your heat gun straight into your extension cord, you would plug it first into the cord foiler. then into your extension cord. It will never let your extension cord bunch up int those tight knots. Worth it's weight in gold. I should have bough ten of them and I didn't. They work great. You can find them in the aisle with extension cords. You'll love them.
P.S. I sure don't see ant more Subaru TSi's here any more. They were very quick. The only thing I didn't like was the spoiler on the back. It tended to block more than I cared for when looking in the rear view mirror.
    My best,
    Scott

Nice CK I have been running inlays with those problematic Subaru's rear bumpers. Not anymore great tip and how to. Keep it up!!!!!

I still struggled to do mine. The 5th gen bumpers have a deeper recession, and nothing I could do would let me stretch it in without it pulling back in those corners. So I did an inlay. temped to try it as one piece again as I feel my skills are much better now. But it's still way more stretch then the 4th gen wrx bumper.
