Explanation: William couldn't always take Evan to work with him so sometimes he would be dropped of at his mother's house. His mother wasn't good at taking caring of him. Whenever Evan did something wrong his mother would yank on his hair, so when he thought he did something wrong he'd pull on his hair and sometimes even pull it out. overtime it just grew into an obsession and he pulls out his hair randomly now. His family doesn't know much of this. Michael saw the damage once but forgot about it. Trichotillomania is the urge to pull out your hair for random reasons.
I have Trichotillomania- but it's not as bad as pulling out big ass clumps of hair mainly more specific strands, one at a time (multiple within an hours time) I'm just speaking for myself, it can be different for anyone. But yeah I don't pull a lot but I do enough that anyone to look at me or like 5 minutes would be like "you okay sir?" .__. I say that with experience.
My youngest sister has Trichotillomania due to her being stressed so much stress since she was at the age of 4 the thing is she has had this for almost 3 years and had to get her hair cut really short not to long ago the worst part is that she loved her long hair
I have it, and it’s been going on for a year. Actually, this video just taught me the diagnosis. I didn’t know it was a disorder. People question me a lot for it, and usually I say it’s just my anxiety. Guess it isn’t.
Hey, just someone who suffers from Trichotillomania. It’s honestly really scary how accurate this video is tbh. But I love how this is kinda spreading awareness of this illness as it’s more common than what people may think, so tysm 💕 Also CC is so adorable omfg. He doesn’t deserve this 😫
As someone who has been suffering from Trichotillomania for well over six years, and still is (it’s been on and off), and actually had to go bald for a few months. This does look accurate, since it commonly stems from stress it makes perfect sense that he would be experiencing the urge and most people who do it know it’s bad, but once you pull even one hair it feels nearly impossible to stop. A lot of times it can be difficult for people to shed light to things like this in a proper way, but I’d say you’ve done a great job. I also like the concept that he suffers from it, I haven’t seen it used before and the way you use it makes sense in your Au. Good job!
trichotillomania but I go slightly more in depth about it: It can be seen as an impulsive or compulsive action of pulling out your hair (it can be from your head, eyebrows, or eyelashes. In this case it's from his head). In most cases the person knows what they're doing is wrong, but can't control themselves. It's used as a coping mechanism for stress, anxiety, boredem, and other emotions. It's a type of OCD (obbsessive compulsive disorder) that can be caused by trauma, though not always. sorry if that's a lot. (*based off of personal research and my own experiences*)
What about things like arm hair? Is it considered something else then? Does trichotillomania just refer to the hair on the head? Just trying to educate myself
@@stuffy.2246 Yes, I'm pretty sure it can also be from your arms (and legs) as well as from your head, eyebrows and eyelashes. So no, trichotillomania isn't just refering to the hair on your head. Also what do mean by "Is it considered something else then?"
Uh I just wanted to correct something- it's not for "no reason". People usually do it as a coping mechanism for stress, anxiety, boredem, and other negative emotions. It can be seen as an impulsive or compulsive action of pulling out your hair (it can be from your head, eyebrows, or eyelashes. In this case it's from his head). In most cases the person knows what they're doing is wrong, but can't control themselves. (hope this helps)
This is one of the videos that helped me realize that I actually HAD trichollomania, which I have been struggling with for years and I really wish I could say it was getting better but when I feel alone I like to watch this video because even if the characters aren’t real I feel like I’m not alone
I don't do it with my hair but I know the feeling. I pull out my lip's skin and nails everyday and I already tried to stop a lot of time but I do it unconciously whenever one of my hands isn't busy with something. I can't remember how it started since I've been doing that for over 10 years now, but it was probably from stress or bad mood out of a news that came to my family, knowing that I'm hypersensitive and very easely stressed. All I have to say is, good luck to anyone whose trying to stop those kind of habits, I'm sure you can succeed if you manage to control yourself for enough time ^^
Ahh.. TW- gonna talk about this disorder for a second I honestly never knew this was a disorder until now. But now that I do, it makes me wanna be more open about my issues with pulling my hair out. I don’t know why I do it. It started as an anxiety thing and I was able to stop for about a year. And now I’m back into that habit. I have a bald spot in a not-so-easy to cover space. My mother told me I was stupid for doing that, kinda made me wanna pull it out more. Yeah anyways, just wanted to share a personal story
I kind of had that..I pulled out my hair but I didn't know this was a thing...I didn't know the name and through my life I've kind of been just yelled at but I makes it worse...I have autism also and I kind of came from that out of me having high anxiety it became a habit for everytime I was nervous. ..I just never knew this was a thing...it became so bad once I was bald in one spot..its still not treated for..but I try my hardest not to do it..but it can't really be helped.Im thankful for this video because it helped me identify something I didn't realize was a thing..I thought it was just me being weird...

I have it except I would pull out my eyebrow or eyelash hair, I recommend getting any screen protector glasses if you’re on your phone a lot because if you reach for it the glasses will be in the way or put something on your eyebrow like a face mask that will dry on or something slimy that will prevent you from pulling the hair, or you could try trimming your fingernails
@@hazelnut2918 maybe wear a hairband and you can get an eyebrow pen from a store and draw your eyebrows in temporarily and for your eyelashes you can use eyeliner on your eyelid to make it look like you have the eyelashes or you can use fake eyelashes and if you do it at home wear fake glasses and that should help you with your eyelashes and eyebrows, this worked for me
