Curiosity: when he was young he went to Sanremo (in that period in Italy rap wasn't famous, he was One of the First take It) he Lost and italian tv ridiculed him . After that was Born "Caparezza" before his artistic name was "Mikimix" Sorry for my english .
I really appreciate the effort you put into paying attention and even breaking down the lyrics :) this are my favourite kind of videos, especially with Caparezza!!
Soo here to explain a couple of things.. Original name Michele Salvemini, he debuted in 1994 in this festival in Castrocaro with the art name of Mikimix, but nobody seemed to notice his talent, even in the famous Sanremo show (because in that period here in Italy rap wasn't famous at all), but years later, in Milan, he met a record company and chose to try again. He changed name to Caparezza and published a couple of albums, the first one in 2000, changing his whole career. That's why this song doesn't sound dark or sad, because he managed to stand up after all those complications in his past career.
I loved this react, One thing you maybe didn't notice, when he sing about the Club 27 (at 17:10) in the video you can see all the members of that club one after the other fast
Fratello mio, non hai idea delle cose che dice questo poeta, credo che ogni testo abbia almeno 50 chiavi di lettura!! Buon divertimento hahaha è un mito capa
good songs to react to are Goodbye Malinconia" with Caparezza ft Tony Hadley, and "troppo tardi" Caparezza ft Micheal Franti, great tunes and with parts in English. Caparezza is a hugely talented artist, if he was born in NY or LA he would have been a rap megastar in the US..
i m really happy you like caparezza he his for me one of the most intelligent italian artist is a genius and even in Italy it is often not understood you must be an informed and culturally prepared person otherwise you do not understand all the references he makes
Bravo Angelo!! Song full of double meanings and quotations, for example the word "campione" in Italian has two meanings champion and sample. The song then begins precisely with a sample of two songs of the 90s. Another thing rinato in Italian is almost like saying Renato and at some point sings Rinato as Zero. You can see it as Renato Zero (you made a song) or reborn zero. Still in 2000 MikiMix turned 27... and he's 27 years old MikiMix is dead. Add old me to the club 27....
@@MadAng66 you can see this title as a play on words sample of the 90s or champion of the 90sIn fact the sound is very 90's. Like that dutch champion then it's Van Persie (excellent soccer player) in Italian sounds like saying "I lost" Persie=Persi=i lost van=va= he go
This video pop up to me randomly, but I'm happy that it happened As an Italian who's fan of Caparezza I'm so damn happy that he's even known outside of Italy, thank you
Always from Caparezza I recommend a rap-rock song that deals with the theme of racism, highlighting the inconsistencies of it comparing it to racism towards another "race", in this case even an alien. It's called: "Vengo dalla luna" (I came from the moon) Fun fact: there is a cover of this song made by Måneskin , even if, being one of their early x-factor songs it is not the best (and I say this as a fan of the band). Wold be a cool video reacting to both 🧡🧡🧡
Hi again Ang! ^^ One thing I love about Caparezza, having been a fan for over 10 years now, is that he's had one of the smoothest shifts in content I've seen in an artist. You know that moment when bands/solo musicians change their music (wether in style, genre, lyrics or even all of the three combined) in order to be percieved as always fresh, but it just ends up feeling like a betrayal? Capa's earlier songs were about social matters, a.k.a something exterior to himself he felt wrong. And they were great and relatable, they absolutely were. But the last 3-4 albums have gone much deeper than that, because Caparezza's focus shifted from the exterior to the interior, on himself and what he feels. And that's even more relatable, because even though I haven't been Mikimix, I can relate to the feeling of believing in something that ended up in a failure and having to get back on my feet. A mutual feeling told with Caparezza's expertise and honesty is something powerful, so I really can't complain about this change in topics ^^ Long live Capa and kudos to you Ang! ^^
I'm going to the live concert in february, i can't wait to hear somgs like this live...great reaction, i think you're the only non-italian person that understand caparezza's lyrics
Hi bro, truly appreciate your Caparezza's reaction and your dedication to the lyrics. Now you are ready. For the masterpiece. The faster hit. "La fitta sassaiola dell'ingiuria". I'm sure that you will fall in love with it. See you, bro
So much love for your work, man! I feel obliged to recomend you La Certa and Exuvia, two songs from Caparezza's latest album (which is also called Exuvia). See ya on the next video, press on!
Yup this single is from his latest album Exuvia, it came out a few months ago (Caparezza will be on tour starting feb next year...fingers crossed the world won't turn upside down again). As someone else said, keep this format going if it makes you save time. As long as you have fun, I'll be enjoying watching your videos anyway. Going to check your music out now :)
You said you liked the way he uses his voice, so I highly recommend "Contronatura". Is one of my favorite and he keep changing tone and accent during the whole song
Hi bro! It's always a pleasure discovering new treasures (I'm not rapping..) from Italian music. Actually I'm Italian but I didn't know a lot of stuff you reacted. However I've just listened to another masterpiece by Caparezza and I highly recommend it...please react to "Abiura di me" ;)
Awesome video Angelo! ✨✨✨👏👏👏👀👀👀👌👌👌💯💯💯 I like this indepth vids very freakin'much! Hq in terms of camera doesn't matter... The content must be of quality and you, my dear, delivered! 😎🤟✨
"Caparezza" means "Spikyhead" in his southern italian dialect, "capa" being head and 'rezza' refferring to the curly hair. That's why when he stopped being Mikimix and became Caparezza, even his looks changed drastically.
I appreciate always more in depths. Up to you, based on what people tell you when they suggest you a song, choose if react to whole lyrics or not. Sometimes lyrics are not that really important, but often they are and can make you enjoy and understand more a song, so I think you should always do something about it. If not reactioning the whole lyrics, at least you can make before a little research on the web or ask some question to the people who suggest you songs in the comment, so you can know already what it talks about and how when you go reactioning. I keep suggesting those 2 extreme violent and dark songs by Caparezza: "Argenti Vive", almost an apology of violence itself when it comes about lyrics, and "Prisoner 709". Also, back to some cool metal you ain't expecting for sure, I suggest Bloodywood with their songs "Machi Bhasad" or "Jee Veerey" (But on the latter, don't stop the video when the song ends, go thru it till it ends please)
Just to inform you in case you do not know, mikimix is his previous name as singer, and the "bald" caparezza in the transition when hair grows up (almost in the end) its infact the trasformation from mikimix to caparezza
If you wanna listen to a really fast Caparezza song you should listen to Felici Ma Trimoni Not one of his hits but a real gem that sadly you won't be able to appreciate because it really can not be translated but you can appreciate the flow
Italian rap sounds may sound faster due to a bigger amount of syllables in the average word compared to english, but consider that the amount of information that you have per bar is the same, it's just that to pronounce it in the same amount of time you have to be faster
If you like fast rap, try "felici ma trimoni" "teste di modì" "canzoni a metà" from caparezza, im sure you will enjoi them (i'm hoping my english is not too bad ^^)
GG working on caparezza, you should find another artist to focus on since all the caparezza fans who see reactions and knows english have seen some of your videos. Anyway good job on this video, i like the lyrics breakdown
I'm italian and i love rock music, my favorite band is linkin park of course, i don't like italian music so much because there are only trap but...caparezza is the best💪🇮🇹
Oh, how i wish you can understand Italian... Capa makes a brilliant uses of puns to make rhymes! For example "chiuso con l'Amiga e il 4 piste, mica con l'amica a farmi 4 piste" literally is " shut away whith the Amiga and the four track recorder, not with a Friend(amica) snorting 4 tracks o cocaine" ... i'm sad you're missing so much of the genius. Happy you appreciate it anyway.
