Merry Christmas J, I don't know if you ever tried this but right before you do a photo transfer to the phone, Do a restart, turn off the blue tooth and mobile data, it seems to make the transfer go much faster. I think its because as the images come in your phone wants to back them up and that trick stops the backup while the images transfer to the phone via wifi
I have never tried that, but based on how finicky the app is I would not be surprised if that helped. Thanks for the tip! Jay

Just wondering : isn't it easier to extract thru VLC player than the camera ?
Yes, but if you are in the field doing work and using the App to get the photos on your cell phone this method is super helpful 👍

How big can the pictures be printed ? I’m considering buying an fx30 for travel video etc. if I could grab frames for photo and not need a good photo camera that would be helpful.
Not that big, because the resolution is only about 4k since you are pulling a photo from the video file itself assuming you recorded in 4k... If you take a photo with the FX30 you would get 26MP for example...

hi there. Just recently purchased the ZV-E10. I saw this option but do you know what resolution it outputs the still image to? Catalyst browse can also capture videos but I'm not sure which quality is better, direct from camera or calayst browse?
The photo is the resolution of the video footage you were recording. So 4k in my case with this video....

No, it's much lower resolution, because 4k is not near as high as the camera sensor in most Sony cameras. But, it still looks pretty good and worth trying if you want some stills from the footage.

Only jpeg from video files...
Are the captures in raw? Does it work in SnQ mode too?
Jpeg only and I believe it works with S&Q as well, but did not try that. I don't see why it would not work though...
how bout zoom photos that u have to crop and save???
I'm noticing when im capturing still images from video playback there saving as a 16:9 ratio?
Yes, that is the format the video was recording in and it's basically a screen capture of the footage. You would need to crop it to get to 2:3 which is default for photos or 4:5 for example...

Hello, what are you looking to learn? I have not used a camcorder style camera in a while, but would be happy to help if I can.
I found out it works better for me when I "forget" my home wifi and then scan the Qr Code from the camera.
And i own the Ax73

Any screen capture program would work if viewing on your PC....

@@pushapt well, if you record in 4k and open the video up full screen on Mac the do a shift+cmd+4 you can screen cap the image. At that point you could open .png file in photoshop or equivalent and do minor edits… this is not near as good as shooting raw quality full resolution photos though just to be clear… good for sharing on social and stuff though I would say. I use this method for video thumbnails all the time, but they are low resolution so not to big a deal. Client work is usually a different story though depending… I hope that helps and thanks for the kind words Patrick 👊
